Last week WB Games Montreal showed off a new trailer featuring Firefly at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Lucky members of the press who attended the show got to go hands-on with an exclusive new demo.
In a video posted by PCGames.de, we get our first look at Batman's new shock gloves as well as a brief look at the Firefly boss fight. Check out the video above, you don't need to speak German to appreciate the awesome new Batman: Arkham Origins footage!

Awesome game play, however I wish they wouldnt have talked in the video
I'm really losing hope in this game. Arkham Asylum was great because it was something new and fresh. And the creepy halls of Arkham set a great mood. Arkham City felt like the natural next step, going into an open world and expanding the scale a bit. Now this just feels completely uninspired. It's as if they just took Arkham City, expanded the map a bit, and slapped on some extra unnecessary gadgets.
These games are losing their touch. In the first game I felt like Batman, a mere man, vulnerable, yet still really badass. In the second game, they made it too easy and let you practically fly around the city. With this game I was hoping that, with it being a prequel, they would strip you of some of the more overpowering abilities and make it more dangerous. I was really hoping they would take away the gliding and grapple boost (which was a prototype in Arkham City...) and add some more parkour elements to how you get around.
I can't believe you're complaints are "he's too badass now" and "I don't like the grappling/gliding" well the 1st one you can pretty much take care of yourself. You never have to use those overpowered moves. I went through arkham city with no upgrades on hard, never even getting the multi-takedown (or freeflow for that matter) and it made it a lot more challenging. I'm sure that will also be an option in this game. They don't need to force it on us.
you can also choose to not use grapnel boost at all in arkham city and I bet for the most part that will also be true in arkham origins. So feel free to just run and jump around
I think I should've explained it better. It's not the upgrades or the gameplay that I have a problem with. It's the way that the developers are taking things. They're going at it with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality, refusing to be original in fear that they'll mess up the franchise. My disappointment comes from the fact that these people claim to understand Batman, but end up being swept up too far in one direction and what we get isn't a man in a suit. Do I even have to point out the fact that Batman was producing electricity from his gloves? He's pretty much super powered now.
Now I loved Arkham City, but where's the strategy, the careful timing, the NEED to plan and hide in the shadows in order to strike fear? That's the Batman that was given to us in Arkham Asylum. I remember having to literally observe and time the henchmens' routes in order to get a trophy/achievement. Now if I want to get through a predator challenge, I just need to shoot the new double ended ended batclaw at every henchmen and hit them with a gas tank. These games are slowly turning into Assassins Creed.

I wish. Assassin's Creed is still a much better Batman game than the Arkham games. haha
Yeah I wish Assassin's Creed was even close to the Arkham games! the fighting and movement in AssCreed is laughable after playing Arkham City. I love the concept of AssCreed and have bought every new game hoping it was more like Batman then after realizing it isn't I've had to return every AssCreed game. Try playing Arkham City then go into an AssCreed game, you'll see the what im saying. I DO like the ACreed sneaking though! Yeah i said ASSCREED a lot in this little rebuttal paragraph.

I think the sad thing is that almost everything you asked for is in Lego Batman 2, but not the Arkham games. haha
Those features would be awesome! Let's see what Montreal actually has for us.

3. Actually, there's no Batmobile in this game. But, yeah! That would've been cool! Or atleast DRIVE the BAT-WING. But we can't drive the Bat-Wing in this game either!
4. Yeah! Whenever we get seen, the fear meter drops back to normal. That way, we could use more and more moves and gadgets!
5. Meh. That feature is a little too much. BUT, it would show the depth of the attack. So, yeah. They could put that too!

9. I so want that! Hacking into stuff and it shouldn't be a cutscene either! You have to find the thing yourself! I wish they put that in!

11. Maybe, Generating Holographic Crime scenes can be done in the Batcave like in AC's Batman chalenge map. That would be cool!

This demo is awsome! the electric gloves looks amazing and until now I wasn't really sold on the remote claw but the way the guy used it in this video was fantastic. Less than two months to go people!
There were no AC bosses which really forced you to master the various aerial controls - gliding, diving, grappling, hopping off walls, et al. (Well, now that I think about it, the helicopter sequence before going into Wonder Tower somewhat fit that bill.) So, I had envisioned the Firefly fight to really bully players into mastering them, and being a full, 3D aerial battle.
However, from this snippet, I might have assumed incorrectly. It appears to be a more rote sequence.
And I agree with Kevin W. that this looks alarmingly similar to AC. It looks much more like AC than AC looked like AA, even though this is a whole new developer. The jury is definitely still out, but it would be nice to get some more novel stuff, rather than just an extension of AC.

Is just an impression or Batman has the same upgrade he had in the Batclaw in the Arkham City? Besides things like that, i think that's going to be an amazing game.
I would say I can't wait for this game, but that means I'd be skipping over GTA V. So I guess I CAN wait?
I know some people are complaining that Origins plays exactly the same as City but let's see.. Hmmm same gameplay as the previously amazing game with little tidbits of new things added on here and there? More of the same as my Game Of The Year 2011? I love it already

I would happily pay $60 for Arkham City gameplay with a new, compelling story. That's basically what we're getting, but don't forget about the online multiplayer addition too.
Well we really don't know the quality of the story. And isn't everything you just stated exactly people complain about Call of Duty and what people are beginning to hate about Assassin'sCreed?
A - People can complain all they want, Call of Duty still makes a billion dollars every November.
B - I think the problem with Ass Creed is that it HAS changed. It's been on a steady decline since Brotherhood, culminating with III being a steaming pile of turds.
Sales never mean quality. Example: Twilight.
It still makes the complaints pointless because either the complainers are small enough not to matter or they're complaining and still running out to buy the game anyway.
But I digress, I don't even get this whole conversation anyway. I have seen a ton of new content for this game. It doesn't look like Arkham City redux to me at all. The new detective mode, the new enemies, the new gadgets, new characters, the bigger map, the random encounters, etc.
I mean, I'm the guy who HATED Arkham City. And there's enough new stuff here that *I'm* excited about it. If I thought this looked like a basic rehash of Arkham City with no advancement I wouldn't have it pre-ordered right now.
I think the BIG additions that people want, and I want too, like vehicles and true open world play are stuff that is just too difficult to do with the engine they've developed for these games. Look at how they've had to come up with a storyline reason, the blizzard, to keep the streets mostly empty. There HAS to be some limitation that is forcing them to do that in my eyes. I figure we don't see that stuff until next gen Arkham hits.

Really? During a season where you know Grand Theft Auto V, Splinter Cell BlackList, Watch_Dogs, and The Division are all being released, you'd be willing to pay $120 for this? Who am I to argue with an opinion.

No game is WORTH 60 dollars. It's just what we're forced to pay. haha
Guys remember that the developers have not shown off EVERYTHING and they probably won't show off every new little thing before the game comes out. They might just save some gadgets so that when you get them In the game you'll be surprised. The developers have already confirmed that they won't reveal ALL 8 assassins before release. So have hope
The two posts you made here seem kind of contradictory. In the first post, you noted how popular AC is, and so therefore it is best if AO just copies it (as they thus far appear to have done). In the next post, you said that there are going to be lots of changes from AC, and that that is good.
So which is it? Lots of changes from AC, and that's a good thing, or an extension of AC, and that's a good thing?
From my end, I definitely loved AC - it's earned a warm spot with Resident Evil 4, Super Metroid, and Ocarina of Time as one of my all time favorites, no doubt. But it seems like it would almost be better if they'd just call this, "Arkham City: Extended" or some such, so that non super-fans understand what they're getting.
Sure, this game seems to be going the more action based route, but hey, the action is awesome as well. This is not Rocksteady, this is a totally noob company that got a chance to continue a successfull franchise, so of course they aren't taking any risks or adding anything (they're afraid, who wouldn't be?). I'm sure Rocksteady will bring something epic and new (or just more stealth, which I personally want). I'm not buying the game though, I'll just borrow it from a friend. Have gotten tired of the Not getting the complet game and will be waiting for GOT.

I think you're referring to a fanboy. I'm a DC fan, yet I supported every one of those ideas.
