It's official! The Dark Knight Rises has made over $900 million worldwide... $901.2 million to be exact. As reported earlier this week, The Dark Knight Rises is performing better at the international box office than The Dark Knight did in 2008. Box Office Mojo reminds us that The Dark Knight Rises is still scheduled to open in China and Italy later this month, which will definitely push it over the $1 billion mark!

And of course whenever something positive happens with this movie, somebody else has to bring out the negative....

Basically it's talking about how TDKR is on pace to sell 10 million less tickets than Burton's Batman and only making more money because of higher ticket prices. It's a really dumb comparison because movies in 1989 didn't compete with 200 channels of TV, the internet, Netflix, the video game market and it didn't have to deal with the piracy issue. Movies also didn't end up on home video and PPV 3 months after release then.

But more importantly the article fails to address that TDKR's box office was significantly damaged by having a MASS MURDER committed during it's opening night, followed by several copycats and the news media blaming the movie for the attack and scareing people away from seeing it. How is it fair to compare this movie to any other movie when it was rolled out in this atmosphere? I don't know what the point of this article was, but to make this comparison without mentioning the unusual circumstances seems very unfair, biased and fraudulent.

well said but just remember batman was held back in islamic countries because of ramadan my arab friend was complaining lol and with italy and china still yet to get it i think it might just pass the burton film...........might lol

yep me too, im going again today then another time on Monday. i saw the tdk twice in the imax and twice in a normal cinema ive only seen tdkr once in the imax so after Monday its 1 more imax trip then the long painful wait for the bluray release

I went to see the movie again, for a 4th time, on tuesday and I was impressed to see a full audience in the Rises screening even tho new movies came out such as Total Recall, Bourne, the Campaign, etc. TDK is on the Rise again.
