   I don't care if all of you call me a douche, but making a statement like that four days after the tragedy only shows that his publicist must've coaxed him to release that statement. As I said earlier, actors releasing individual statements one-by-one separately only means that they have given their statements under some kind of pressure, only so that their public perception is not lowered.

      We all deal with grief in our own way. Knowing you are part of the reason these people died(they were there to watch a movie you were in) is incredibly heart wrenching. Try having some hope in humanity(even celebrities) instead of being such a pessimist. Even if he was coaxed, who cares, at least hes extending his heart to the hurt families.

          Part of the reason people died? That is so far from the truth. No one involved with this movie, the cast. the crew, Nolan, Warner Bros., are responsible for the deaths that occurred that night. This man was a terrorist, and a psychopath. He was going to take lives, whether it was that night or not, whether this movie ever existed or not. This was inevitable. No one that worked on the movie should feel responsible.

            You may be right, but thats not what happened. What happened was that he deemed himself something FROM this franchise. He deemed THIS night. This was not a spur of the moment thing. He did it with planning. Sure they are not directly involved, but forever this movie will be a dark sign to those families of the lost. In that way, all involved in the movie are a part of this tragedy.

               That is bullshit. It's not Warner Bros', DC's, Nolan's, Bale's, JGL's or ANYONE'S fault for what that asshole did.  They should not be feeling any guilt at all and people shouldn't expect them too.

               BUT I commend them for what they have been doing. Even if I believe they do not have to do anything at all.

      um, did it ever cross your mind that maybe (just maybe) he and other cast and crew members personally called/ got in touch with the victims' family to express their condolences, or anything of that sort OUTSIDE THE MEDIA'S KNOWLEDGE?

   Now i know this may seem corny but i'd like to see it happen and i think it's the least we could do for all for the injured victims of the Aurora shootings. I know it's a long shot and might not happen but it would be beautiful to see something along these lines. Batman is a symbol of Hope, these people need a hero right now. So please share the below image on your facebook or something and get word out about the idea and hopefully Warner Bros. do something along these lines, it'd be terrific.

      I don't think that's appropriate.  Whoever had this idea means well, I understand that, but it's not a good idea.  If anything, seeing the real life Batman from The Dark Knight Rises may traumatize the victims even more.  Just give them their space...

         I get your point, guess i didn't look at it that way. It's good that Warner Bros. are doing something though with their donations and they've handled the whole thing really well. I agree with your below comment 100% by the way, it was his fault and his fault only. If only people understood that.

   I think it's very cool that Warner Brothers donated money to the victims of this tragedy.  Keep in mind that Warner Brothers has nothing to do with this shooting, just because it happened at their movie, doesn't make them responsible.  It's a shame when art is blamed for some mad man's actions..we see this happen with music, movies, video games, etc.  Warner Brothers could have just as easily decided not to donate anything, but they chose to, and that's powerful stuff.  Kudos to them. Anybody involved with the movie has nothing to do with this tragedy, it was the shooter. Please, don't try to spread the blame around.

   I hope that WB will include a "In Memory of the Aurora, Colorado Victims" in the credits on Blu-Ray/DVD prints. It's the least they can do.

   It makes me so god damn angry how one fucken moron ruin the movies for the rest of the world. I like the rest of u waited 2 long year while the movie was announced and being made. Stupid retard ruined it for Nolan, the cast, and ppl who are now scared to see the movie in theatres. 160 mil opening day doesn't sound rite. Tell me how avengers made over 200 mil. Fuck u

      you allowed one moron to ruin the movie for the "rest of the world". you allowed it. why would you give so much control and power to a lost, lonely and twisted individual? I enjoyed the movie and didn't let anyone ruin it for me. You give too much credit and power to others. take control.

   These actors do not have to make any statement. They were not involved in the incident and had nothing to do with it. Just because it occurred at a screening of the movie they are in does not make them responsible in any way. They can express their sympathies at their discretion. But, to say that they HAVE TO is wrong. They don't have to say or do anything because they were not involved. That would be like asking Jodie Foster to apologize for the nut who tried to assassinate Reagan to show he loved her. Ridiculous!

    Yeah go ahead and call me a douche if you want as well but I'm getting a little sick of the media pressuring the people behind this film to "go the extra mile" for what happened, implying that somehow they are to blame for what happened.  Now you might say they can do whatever they want.  But I guarantee you if the media hadn't been dubbing this the "Dark Knight Rises Massacre" on the day it happened then there wouldn't be this unprecedented outpouring from the cast, crew, and studio behind this movie.  It's almost as if they are trying to make up for doing something wrong when they clearly had nothing to do with this.  And if this is just out of the goodness of their hearts then where is the rest of Hollywood?  Why isn't Robert Downey Jr. expected to be in Colorado?  Why aren't other studios donating to the victims?  This was an attack on a movie theater, not an attack caused by the Dark Knight Rises.  All of Hollywood should be made to give their condolences and support, not just TDKR people, because this happened in one of Hollywood's houses.
