   That's honorable how well they're taking it considering it's their movie. If I worked that hard on a movie only for it to be overshadowed by a cowardly psycho's crime, I don't know if I could be that humble about it. Although as someone who has a website with videos, it's so flatterig when people take time out of their day to watch my videos and comment. If I was involved in a Batman movie and people came out at midnight just to see it, that would feel very horrible. But from a fan's perspective. If TDKROD (The Dark Knight Rises Obsession Disorder) existed, I would have it. I'll upload my review soon. It's hard for me to edit because editing would require precise finger techniques and I can't sit still because I'm bouncing everywhere because of my recent witness of the greatest piece of art of all time and my ecstatic enthusiasm. If you don't feel an ounce of emotion watching the triumphant ending to this masterfully crafted brilliant spectacle, you have no soul and have my permission to die! The rest of the film was a little convoluted with too many characters and story lines, sure. But the ending sold this movie for me. The whole movie could have been about Batman taking a dump and it still would have been the greatest movie ever because of that darn ending! Oh and yes, I have head phones on listening to the soundtrack blasting my ear drums into my brain causing a Bat-tastic ear-gasm! I can't wait to see it again. I don't care about the risks. Iv'e waited four years for this movie. Nothing will get in my way! There was a tragedy but nothing will stop my passion for this movie. Call me insensitive, I don't care. What can you do? Cut my balls off? That will just make my voice higher and it won't stop my cinematic drive for this phenomenal picture, so it would just make things worse, for the both of us. I can't stop thinking about this movie, talking about this movie, and running and jumping all over rooftops in my sleep because of my dreams about this movie. I can't wait for the Blu-Ray, I'm gonna stare in awe and lust after every frame for an hour, and there's 24 frames per second and this movie is 164 minutes and 17 seconds. Do the math! Remember I can't think about anything else. Iv'e been personally offended at how people can disrespect this movie. That's blaspheme to say this is just a movie or to leave out the words "The" or "Rises". THEY'RE PART OF THE TITLE!!!!! It's more than just a movie! It's a legend! A LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

   This stupid Colorado incident has ruined my year for movies. All I was looking forward to was to see The Dark Knight Rises become the highest grossing of all time and become a groundbreaking phenomenon! It was gonna be so huge! It was going to be an epic! It was supposed to change the way we look at movies, but by itself, by how good it was. It was gonna make so much money without pointless tacked on converted 3D or CGI Porn, it was going to teach the shallow movie companies that you don't need cheap overused gimmicks to make the highest grossing movie of all time. Michael Bay would have repented for the Transformers trilogy and tried to make good movies like Nolan. George Lucas would have come forth and confessed he raped Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Anyone read about 1939 and how big Gone with the Wind was? Anyone read about 1977 and how big Star Wars was that year? How everyone saw it a bunch of times and how everyone was addicted and talked about how great and revolutionary it was? It's more than just a movie! It's pieces of art like The Dark Knight Rises that give us a reason to live. If there was no movies, what would be the point of living? TDKR was supposed to be the biggest thing since the silent era. Movies like that keep us moving forward. The Dark Knight Rises legacy was supposed to be big, a movie everyone could look at and not help but smile at it at it's spectacle. I really wanted to see the movie, but also see it change movie history for the better and I was so excited to be a part of it by being a moviegoer. The first screening I went to everyone was enthusiastic, then later that day, the theatre was dead. They didn't even clap at the end! How disgraceful! I for one, refuse to let anything stop me from seeing it, thinking about, and talking about it none stop. And it's annoying when every time I try to research it, that stupid stuff from Colorado comes up. I'm sick of it! And that's why I make these posts about it. I bet Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan are pretty irate, they just can't say it. Warner Bros. is trying to remain optimistic about ticket prices now. And Christopher Nolan is probably mad for all the same reasons listed above but probably way worse. He was probably looking forward to see it make headlines, crowd all the theaters, go to more premiers, have parties with the rest of the cast and crew, f*#k his wife in celebration, be all over the news for positive reasons, and be on every page of the Guinness Book of Records for what a groundbreaking positive event the film was. Now while he could do all of those things, it would probably feel kinda awkward and everyone would say he's an emotionless sociopath. Some members of the movie community especially have disappointed me, all they care about is that Colorado shooting. Some people are anxious to go to the movies now, shows how much faith they had in the art. Makes me sick.

   Remember when Ronald Reagan said "May the Force Be With You"? Wasn't that awe inspiring that a movie alone had that powerful effect on not the only the movie industry, but the planet? Whoever is president in the near future better f*#king quote The Dark Knight Rises because of how good a movie it was and not because of some joker from Colorado.

      I agree with everything you typed. I saw the pathetic news (and I hate typing about the psycho,hes loving it) 15 minutes before going out to it Friday morning. Like you I had been waiting 4 years for this,counting the months, weeks , days and hours. It took the shine off sitting there watching it.Kind of guilty. I can'e even get excited about the Olympics now(I'm British). Im flying to Manchester on Tuesday to see in IMAX,don't have it in Ireland.I couldn't wait till then to see it,it will be good to compare.

      That's a terrible idea! It only trivializes the entire senseless, needless tragedy. A celebrity appearance would not be appropriate right now...especially with Bale "dressing up in a suit" and trying to bring light to the situation. Separate the movie from the tragedy.

         The only reason any of this garbage got started was because a story broke not too long ago that Ron Perlman visited a Make-a-Wish kid in the full Hellboy outfit because the kid's wish was to meet Hellboy.  Well guess what.  That kid wanted to see Hellboy, it was his wish.  I haven't hears a single victim or representative or family member of any of the victims saying how lovely it would be for Batman to show up.  Getting a visit from an actor in a Batman costume is probably the last thing on the minds of the victims right now.

      I hate to armchair pathologize on the internet, but I'm beginning to suspect that the people who keep insisting that the entertainers behind The Dark Knight Rises should insert themselves into this tragedy (beyond the degree that the media has already done so) are merely projecting their own personal wish fulfillment onto the survivors. Please, stop speaking for them. Let the survivors decide for themselves what they want/need.

   It really touches my heart that the the actors and film makers behind this amazing film have shown there support to the Aurora community. Considering the horror that the Aurora community is going through right now. I pray that there will be compassion and understanding for the victims at this time. God bless them.

      That would only be acceptable if instead of a mass shooting the incident was bad popcorn that made everybody go to the hospital for treatment. This was a shooting, people died. Do you think people that lost their friends, family, loved ones, want to see a movie now? Get over yourself.

   I resjpect wholeheartedly Chris Nolan, Christian Bale and crew on their sympathies and support for the families of the ones that were wounded or otherwise.  It is very a very sad day indeed for something that should have been the premiere event of the best movie ever made to end in senselesss violence instead. My heart and prayers go out to all involved and hopefully some healing will start in the families. I am still going to go see the movie on Monday night with some friends and we will remember those who lost their lives to a senseless crime.  It is very honorable on how Chris Nolan and company are taking this and giving their heart and soul out to all that were involved. I respect you all more and hope good can come out of this.  My heart goes out to Mr. Nolan and company as well.  I know that everyone involved in the making of TDKR had their soul put into this film and that now your soul goes out to this senseless tragedy. Maybe all at Hollywood can learn from your compassion and respect for this. Love sent out to all including my prayers. Christopher...

    Amal has a great idea. Christian should don his Batman costume once more and visit all in Aurora, Co. at the hospital. Give these kids some hope that Batman will continue to combat evil in every form, no matter what. Tom and Anne, dress up as your characters and go to all of these people that need you all. Please. Just give back some hope to all of these wounded heroes.  I will continue to see the TDKR and support all that these beautiful and talented actors and producers have given us. Please don't give up on humantity. There are still good people in this world.  Batman and Chris Nolan I know will stay strong in protecting those that are less fortunate. Love and respect to everyone involved. Christopher.

You want Tom Hardy, the guy that plays Bane, the killer in the movie which by the way is dressed in military style gear with a face mask, to go to the hospital in full costume? You really have no idea abou anything in this world.

    First of all , forgive me for my English language..I'm working on improve it ...
    I´m from Mexico City and is sad for us that the cast of the movie is unable to attend the red carpet in my country.
    Maybe for another time...
    Here In Mexico, we understand more than anyone the pain and sorrow of a tragedy like this, and although life is moving on , is necessary to take a moment to show respect and care for those who are suffer because this dreadful event.

    My idea for the actors dressing up in their characters isn't disrepecting those in Aurora, but to show them that their courage hasn't gone unnoticed and their love for a favorite icon hasn't been tainted by a senseless and cowardly person.  But if the actors do decide to visit Aurora, with or without them donning their character, it will still be a great respect to those involved. Please don't missunderstand my statement. I too want to see justice brought to the twisted individual involved and to also see healing and hope for everyone else. My prayers, respect and tears to all.

       I think you have a wonderful idea, however I do think that if this came to fruition that the town should be notified beforehand and let them decide if they are ready for that or not. Peoples faith in humanity right now is shattered and that town especially needs someone to restore a little bit of that faith, even if it isn't the stars visiting in costume and it's something else entirely.

       That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. sorry. But what do the actors of the film have to do with the shooting? sure, it took place during a screening of the movie they starred in, but it could have been any movie. Why should the CEO of the cinema it happened in not visit them? What about the designers behind the clothes that they were wearing that day? all this mumbo jumbo about the creative people behind The Dark Knight Rises owing any kind of debt to the victims of the shooting is absurd. And besides this obvious fact, and as a little side note, this film really isn't a silly kids' movie that the actors can just dress up as and then parade around, a la Pirates of the Caribbean, or the Fantastic Four, or something like that. It would just be awkward as hell.

    The arguing and name calling on here needs to stop. A tragedy happened and other people process tragedy differently, that does not make one persons way necessarily wrong or right. Everyone has a right to their opinions and obviously the site wants discussion on it or else they would have disabled the comments. The lack of respect for each other here is appalling. Innocent people died and instead of being supportive of them and including them in your thoughts and prayers (if you pray) you stand on your soapbox and tell other people what should or should not happen. Your opinions are valid, however unless you yourself are a victim in this tragedy I don't believe you have any say on what should or should not happen for the people of Aurora, Colorado.

    Hmm...the shooting and the movie were not linked. It's not like the shooter was some psycho Batman hater. He just picked that night because he knew it would draw a big crowd. If he planned it before, it could have been any of the big summer movie hits. 
    It's a nice gesture, but perhaps a big unnecessary to cancel the screenings in other countries.
