One thing about the ending I would like to mention (without spoiling) is that some people will think that it is ambiguous like Inception. This is not true. Everything you see really happens. There is no dream sequence or anything. And it's clearly explained.

Dreaming not yet... hihihihi :-)
But when I will go to sleep after having seen the movie there definitely will be a strange dream sequence that like somehow feels like it's really happening! It's blessing; having a sensitive imagination! Well, TDKR will be abusing that for sure for the next couple of weeks! :-D0 likes
I agree it is clearly explained. I do like how if I squint my eyes a little, I can see an alternative - but it's not actually there :)

my buddy seen the movie last night and said that it was truly Epic! He was very intrigued with Bane, and went as far as saying that he is his favorite villian out of the 3 movies:

OMG people! I just watched TDKR last night (got early screening where I live) and it was super epic. I won't spoil it for you--I'm not gonna touch anything about the plot nor the ending--but just a couple of things I wanna say:
Selina is a total con woman. She can just click into different characters and she did steal the show IMO. And I'm saying this not just because I like Anne; it's just because.
Bane was BRUTAL. I literally winced, especially when Batman and Bane fighting hand-to-hand combat. It felt like watching Bane kicking a puppy. Repeatedly.
The best part for me was the prison part. I cannot even say how many times the audience clap when some 'epic' moment showed up on the screen and I do love the whole movie, but the prison part was the one that really give an impact on me. You can almost see the obsessive-compulsive thing about Batman wanting to protect his city in this part. And I do feel TDKR wrap up BB and TDK pretty well.
But just one tiny bit I don't really like was Bane's voice. You can hear him pretty well and Tom Hardy was a great actor--seriously, the way he acted in the end made me had a little bit of crush on Bane--it just that, his voice sound a little fake. I'm not sure if it was because of the difference of listening in the cinema or listening through your headphones, or if the cinema I was in was too loud. It took you a while to get used with his voice I guess.
So yeah, go and watch it!! I'm gonna watch it again tomorrow. Mwahahaha...
P/S: I heard that Superman teaser is attached with TDKR. It wasn't there last night, so I'm guessing the teaser might be attached after the US July 20th release date.
PP/S: What's the deal with Rykin Data website? It's still look the same even when July 20th is just nearby...

Best Batman movie ever. Bane was really scary, he reminds me of Darth
Vader, scary with the mask on but even more disturbing when it is
removed. I was shocked to find out he had no teeth in the end, part of
the reason why is voice is muffled.0 likes
stop ruining everything for people who haven't seen it. Yes i know it was epic but dude

JGL and Fallon sounds like one of us talking about the film, lol. Love how excited they are!

I Feel....
Catwoman/Selina Kyle has a strong past connection to Bruce Wayne/Batman, something related to her pearl necklace. Alfred Dies. Batman is proclaimed dead, yet Bruce Wayne lives in peace with Talia after the death of Bane and Ra's Al Ghul. John Blake is Dusan Al'Ghul. Gordon finds out Batman's true identity. Gotham returns to what it was before the death of Bruce's parents hence, Batman legend lives in the heart of Gotham's citizens as they unite. Lucious Fox plays a pivotal role in taking on Alfred's duties after his death, Ra's AlGhul is running the shit.....and much more.....

3D is tight and makes more money in movie theaters if it's done well. The new Shrek movie did a really good job with the 3D. Too bad those 3D shades blacken things to much, it would be better if you could see it with light as if you're not wearing 3D glasses.

he really does ! Just how every moment the scene builds up and when the camera finally has the judge chair turn around and its him with a freakishly psycho look and still seems he's messed up from the fear gas from BB a permanent side effect

to the OP - spoiler alert surely!
There were big chuckles in my cinema when he showed up... he really looked a lot more like Crane in the comics too!

Guys?
I just had a great theory on the whole Miranda Tate/Tumber thing.
What If She's Not Talia And Just Sides With Bane And Allows Him To Infiltrate Wayne Enterprises?
It explains the whole costume thing and it also explains the covered up woman in the 'RISE' Character banner where bane is standing on a tumbler with his forces backing him.0 likes
I would have to say that your theory is incorrect.

I would have to agree with you.

hahaha there you go, some inside information will help bringing the truth, spoiler free ofcourse, to the table! :-)
Ah Okay, it wasn't really a good theory but would it have drastically affected the film if it had gone this way?

Saying so may be a tad spoilerish (mods - feel free to delete if you believe so!), I don't think the story outcome would have changed to much but the emotion and tone would be.

Ahh, Okay :)

Just got back from watching the IMAX triple feature - I had last row, almost dead centre... it's 4am in the morning in Melbourne, Australia (IMAX is the 3rd largest in the world) and it was awesome.
But I got no one to talk to about it and I don't want to spoil anything for others! It's at least on-par with The Dark Knight, but there are some things that are bugging me...

And what are those things that are bugging you? Curiosity never ends... :-) I beg your pardon!

Well, now that you asked :) I did blog about it (spoiler free especially if you've been following sites like this) here:
http://jarodcollard.blogspo...There was a few amped up hollywood-action cliches, which are in the other films but not as over the top (such as Begins Microwave Emitter, albeit it's not as annoying as Katie Holmes!!!) . Also, very much like TDK, the emotional journey of the characters I feel needs more space and lead-in. To use a TDK example, based on the film alone I don't think it makes sense for Harvey to become a murderer overnight - but from reading the novel you learn there's always been a dark/angry side to him he's kept hidden (film only comes close to exploring this in the Schiff scene).
So I think the story telling is a little sloppy in that regards. And while Nolan is a huge lover of film, he rarely gives time for a scene to breath - although if he did we'd be watching 4 or 5 hour films instead (which I'm not entirely against mind you!!!)
Don't get me wrong - the film is awesome and on par with TDK (I'm still deciding whether a bit better or not quite, need those next viewings!!!)

I can see what you mean. There is a lot of exposition going on. I'm also one of those people that likes a shot to hold for a little while so you can take it all in. There were a few moments where I would have liked the shot to go on for a few more seconds or characters spend a bit more time together. But, you know, I'm still evaluating the movie. I don't think it's as good as TDK and I'll stick by that. Still pretty awesome.

Isn't that strange? Comparing TDK and TDKR? I find that very odd. Let me please tell you why. Talking about the trilogy you are comparing the 'middle' against the 'ending'. I think that's just the wrong decision to make. The main reason as to why is because to my opinion TDK is a film of very high standards something you can only pull off once and never twice. Because the bar is raised like really really high and if the ending isn't near that bar then it will fail short. That's not fair to the ending of the trilogy. I mean a middle of the story always differs in many different kinda ways with the ending. And comparing the two of them would be like comparing lunch against dinner. Like the three meals of a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I don't know about you but my dinner always differs from my lunch :-)
Comparison of them is like impossible because they are two different meals on a day.
If I'm honest, I'm really really really glad Chris Nolan would even made a third and final installment. That means another storytelling thrill! Even a BATMAN one! :-)
What I'm trying to say is I'm not that critical and already happy there's a new batman story to be watched in cinema. Nolan's films are always THOUGHTFUL, EXCELLENT and THRILLING, never a fail so I won't even think of measuring the quality. Even with the ending of the trilogy. It's like: " Hey It's A Nolan movie, why even bother to doubt the quality." Only lame ass overly critical reviewers do that!
I'm just going to sit in that cinema seat tomorrow night together with a great friend and enjoy the hell out of it because the movie means just so very VERY VERY much to me! I sacrificed alot (almost too much *sighs*) to be able to see it and right now I'm already VERY happy with the fact that I can watch it in cinema regardless of it's quality so to speak. :-)
Like Morgan Freeman would say (together with perhaps Jim Carrey?)
" It's good.." "It's good.." "It's gooooooooooood!" :-D0 likes
I appreciate your take on this. I just can't help comparing the movies as they are all part of one big story. In a broader scope, I would say that TDKR is much better than Spider-Man 2, X-Men, The Avengers, and any other Marvel movie. I'm looking forward to your impressions of the movie. You will love it, and will be moved by it!

It's a great movie - you'll love it :) While I get what you're saying, each film still has the classic story telling beats, the 3 acts and so forth - TDK probably breaks those traditions more than the other films... even my g/f agreed that Rises felt shorter than TDK even though it's got nearly an extra 30 minutes.
It's natural for people to always choose a favourite. I love the Godfather trilogy and it will always be a trilogy, but #1 is king for me... Lord of the Rings is amazing and I'd never watch 1 of those films on their own - but I flipflop between #1 and #3 as a favourite. Original Star Wars will always be a trilogy, but it's always about Empire and I'll generally pay less attention to Jedi.
That said, I'd be extremely hard pressed to pick a favourite of Batman now. TDK is one of the rare films I own where I will put the Bluray on just to watch a certain scene (usually the IMAX ones) - but Begins still has those "hell yeah" Batman reveals that will never get old :~D

I caved this evening and saw it a second time (last night was on the huge Melbourne IMAX, tonight on a Village V-Max) ... I actually enjoyed it quite a bit more. The irks were still there, but they didn't bother me - and I was moved even more in the emotional scenes, and the scenes with pain - still painful :)
Love the ending, right now it's the best part of the whole film that last few minutes.

I bet the ending is so cool because the soundtrack that's kicking in like very slowly but with each step more and more intimidating. I wouldn't be suprised if it did! hihihi It's just so friggin' awesome because your heart is pounding the soundtrack is kickin' in.. And each five seconds you'll be like: " What willen happen?!" " How will this ever end?!"
Nerves are coming around the corner the heartbeat raises, sweat starts to appear...And then it happens.. Each scene after the other! The Legend Ends!
hihihi I certainly hope so that it will be that way. Walking out of the cinema you be like damn.. What rollercoaster ride was I in for almost three hours?! :-)Right now I'm reading your comment I'm looking at the clock and go like: That's 24 hrs + 8 hours left... *sighs*
Another 32 hours. Movie here starts at 21:00 PM. Going to the cinema at about 20:15 PM.
I'm bringing my Batman Begins Novel (GREAT BOOK!) with me for fun.. Will look at it a couple of times before the movie starts!
Hell I'm even dressing black jacket - grey sweater - black shirt - grey jeans hahaha for this occasion! :-D Just to make the most out of it! :-)
And I want an official movie poster.. non-negotiable damnit! hihihi
Those cinema people are out of their mind bytheway!
Selling (huh?!) those things when TDKR is removed from theater.
I mean such a movie just begs for souvenirs! :-)0 likes
Good to hear. I still have to see it (tomorrow at IMAX) to get the whole scope of it. I'm so happy I live in Carlton North at the moment! The main thing that got to me was Bruce's relationship with Alfred. That really got me. I have to admit that the ending is still growing on me. It's so bitter-sweet. It's too much to get over and you know what I mean! But I love a movie that gets under your skin.

Just saw it. It's pretty amazing. There's a lot to process, but the fans will NOT be disappointed. Bale was great. Hathaway was great too. You will wish she had more screen time. Hardy was fabulous. His speech regarding Dent is a high point. There is a montage during this that really works. Blake is indeed an important character and JGL plays him with a lot of likeability. Bruce in prison is certainly the oddest part of the film. You'll see what I mean. It's a strange environment! My only spoil is that Neeson does do a cameo as expected. But we kinda knew that. Enjoy!

Now that's what I like to hear! Yeah I bet the Bruce in Prison part will be odd but hey somehow I can say me and him can trade experiences let me put it that way and not be to specific. I'm just really looking forward to see what happens to him exactly in there and what he does with his time, his feelings and emotions!
Anyway, where in the name of the heavens all combine did you see it if I may ask?0 likes
I saw a midnight screening in Melbourne. It opened here on the 19th.

Like with New Years Australia always first! That's great! I'm wondering did see you it in IMAX and if you are going to see it again?

Yeah I feel pretty privilaged! I saw it on a regular screen. But, yes I'm seeing it at IMAX on Friday.

Yeah men you should be. I mean Australia is a great and beautiful country and represents so much for example tennis history with the Australian Open! I have seen the last Australian Open edition including the finale with Nadal and Djokovic. That was like legendary. Anyway, same here in the Netherlands. Watching it first on regular screen and then try as soon as possible to watch it in IMAX in Amsterdam! Having seen it now must be like your still very impressed right? :-)
I'm sorry for all the questions but I'm just like almost obsessively curious! :-)0 likes

For some reason I couldn't reply to your other post. Yes, I was really impressed. You will truly enjoy the spectacle. It also has some great emotional moments. Not everyone will like the ending, but I thought it was pretty good. The ending has been spoiled in the last few days, but I won't go into it.

First of all thanks a million for talking about your experience men. Makes me just so much more excited! Yeah, the ending is already much debated and spoiled but to my most humble opinion it isn't that big of a deal as I think people must see it as the big picture and the ending as a part of it. The greatest trilogy of all time can't just of three films with an ending. Like Tom Hardy said on the European Premiere tonight with alot of humor bytheway: it's about the big CIRCLE. And as Christian Bale said in an interview recently: "It's the true completion! :-)
Where you saw it? At world premiere? Im sure that the scene with bruce in prison will be one of the best scenes.Because resembles Batman Begins.
Nice one.. Friday there's a big interview with Christian Bale in a local newspaper here in The Netherlands. I don't know why but I feel like I should bring the paper to the cinema and read it before the movie starts! hihihihi Ofcourse people here will go like: "What in the name of $%# is he doing reading a newspaper in the cinema?!"
Hilarious, put it to together with a fine cold beer and I go like:LOL! hihihihi
EDIT: European premiere in London now live on:
http://www.youtube.com/Warn...
NOW That's a premiere! Bravo to Warner Bros to pack it up so EPICLY WELL!! :-D
I am so sick to death of reading all these reviews stating it does not live up to TDK purely because of the absence of Heath Ledger's Joker. Are these critics Batman fans or Joker fans?

Didn't you learn one thing already? Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got em! :-)
I understand exactly what your talking about, don't get me wrong I loved the joker and the dark knight, but it's time in a sense to except he's not in this movie and we have the amazing Tom Hardy as Bane. Let's open up and except that the dark knight is four years gone and the dark knight rises is here and it's this FRIDAY!! MTV review for the movie said it best, "IF YOU ARE EXPECTING THE DARK KNIGHT PART 2, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED, BUT IF YOU GO IN WITH AN OPEN MIND & LET THIS MOVIE STAND ON IT'S OWN AND BE THE CLOSING OF THE TRILOGY "THEN" YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED AT ALL" the best review I've read yet, no spoilers, honest, & still didn't really compare the two.

I don't particularly want to read any comments because someone will spoil the movie but can someone simply confirm if they have seen this film that it is at least as good as or better than The Dark Knight? Without any descriptive specifics, a simple 'yeah it's fucking awesome' will do. I only ask because I have read some reviews and they are slightly mixed, I need to put my mind at ease.

Yeah it's fucking awesome.

I particularly love him emphasizing how this is Gotham's story; that statement really embodies the scale of the film and I'm sure I've read another (maybe Nolan himself) describe it that way previously, which struck me then as well.

The honesty in the way how he, like always enthusiastic, discribes the movie is just fenomenal!
Makes me wanna get jump up and cheer because I'm going to see it fridaynight!
Like he wants to say: This is the single reason why I became an actor. To be a part of a very very VERY SPECIAL movie like this.
And like always JGL is on the verge to tell an heroic tale of Director Christopher Nolan.
Charles Dickens: The Tale of Two Cities. There you go, history!
And as of July 20, 2012 we Have Batman: The Dark Knight Rises part of a trilogy that will become legendary in the history of filmmaking. Without a doubt!
Great and very very VERY ENTERTAINING interview! One of the very best so far!0 likes
