Nolan has said the movie comes full circle. Think about this. In Batman Begins, Ras was using economics to destroy Gotham. Did not succeed thanks to the Wayne family. When the LOS went back, Batman stood in their way. Ras/Bane now will use the LOS and the poor people of Gotham to destroy the city. He came back to finish the job...again. Ras survives the train wreck at the end. It took time to heal and formulate a new plan to destroy Gotham. He will take down the wealthy by revolution. The mask pumps a gas/steroid to numb the pain from the train injury. He built himself physically so he can defeat Batman in both mind and strength. He renames himself Bane. Even by definition "bane" means "a cause of misery or death; an affliction or curse

4 likesDid you think that Henri Ducard would turn out to be Ras Al Ghul in Batman Begins? Bruce Wayne and Ducard/Ras were about the same height in Batman Begins. Age is irrelevant. Revisit the scene at the end of BB at Wayne Mansion while the mansion is burning. Look at the 2 of them face to face right before Ras pushing Bruce uder the falling beam. Same look and angle as TDKR when Bane and Batman meet face to face in the riot scene.

Ok, my jaw is still on the floor after hearing "Mr. Wayne". I mean, if you've read Knightfall you had a pretty good idea that Bane knows who he is in the film, but hearing it confirmed? I got a little choked up, not gonna lie.

Yea I kinda got the feeling Bane was gonna know Bruce is Bats.That is most definitely there 1st encounter,which I can guaran DAMN tee Bats is gonna be shocked as hell when he hears Bane utters those words.U know he's gonna get knocked the fuck on unconscious & when he comes 2 he asks Bane "Why didn't u just kill me?" Probably all in the beginning 2. July is gonna be 1 fucking awesome month.Just the thought of July puts a stupid ass smile on my face. X)

So we have 4 full length trailers, several Tv spots, a dozen of magazine articles/interviews and a prologue. But we still have no clue how the plot will unwrap! As a matter of fact, we have no clue on the actual plot itself!

I noticed a few interesting “dichotomies”, if you will, in the 2 fistfights (one in the sewer, the other at the city hall steps) between Batman and Bane as shown on trailers and that MTV-exclusive footage: please bear with the structuring of my explanation ‘cause I can’t think of any other way to post it without confusing you. So...here...we...go!
(1) THE SETUP:
SEWER: Bat’s cornered by Bane and his “goons” inside this dark sewer; while it’s only Bane he’s fighting (his army simply watches), Bat’s practically at their mercy knowing they can gang up on him at Bane’s command anytime. Also, raging water seems to be the elemental backdrop in this particular fight.
CITY HALL STEPS: Batman is not only fighting Bane out in the open (and in broad daylight), but this time he’s backed up by the entire police force of Gotham to deal with Bane’s army. Talk about a great (riot) equalizer. Breezing snow seems to be the elemental backdrop this time around.
(2) BATMAN’S STANCE AS BANE APPROACHES HIM FROM THE STEPS:
SEWER: Batman looked like a wounded prey, backing away as his predator approaches him.
CITY HALL STEPS: This time Batman is standing still, calmly holding his ground as Bane approaches.
(3) BANE’S “RECEPTION” ON THE THROWN (MONEY-SHOT) PUNCH:
SEWER: When Batman threw that close-up punch, Bane caught his fist, looking amused, as if he just caught a tennis ball some kid threw at him.
CITY HALL STEPS: This time you can clearly see in Bane’s eyes the sign of struggle (frustration, even) as he catches Batman’s fist when he took a swing at him.

If Bane was on the "Nolan's Venom" when catching Batman's fist in the sewer. I noticed too that he had no trouble with it. Nolan's version of Venom wont make Bane big, but it could make him stronger/faster.
Since he has (i think) constant supply of pain killing gas, maybe he could adjust the input, to get "better". But he can't use it constantly on high levels, it would kill him (like any drug that's used to enhance performance). This is just my theory tho, but something that Nolan could use.

I agree with you Willie,i think Bane is involved with the league of shadows and knows Batmans true identity.ive said this before but i also think that Bane is linked with Ras in some other way,on certain video clips his eyes and voice do sound very Ras like...? just my thought.The 'Mr. Wayne' speach is deff in the sewer fight when he's walking towards Batman,and that fist grab and kick! omg lol

Remember back like 1 month ago maybe 2 months, when people complained that we were barely being shown anything, and that the marketing was slacking and that "WB sucks", "where is WB???" Well now we have the same people complaining they are showing too much. Get over it! They have barely shown anything. I agree with the people that say they are trying to get us to believe we have it all figured out and then BAM! we have no idea what hit us.

Wohever knew the villain would be Bane, then watched aaaaaaaaaaall the trailers, seeing Bane walking away with a broken Bat-mask in eeeeeevery single one of the shown footages and still couldn't figure out aaaaaall back then that Bane knows who Batman really his...then i have to say...well...... how can i tell you this in a nice way....

Personally i think Juno is Talia, simple as that ^^. That's why Nolan wisely didn't show any of her footage till now and he's jumping arround in his house in sheer joy, watching us fans talk about Cottilard/Miranda Tate beeing Talia :DAnd Bane's strenght....that's a tough one :D

No for real know... Do you remember the "League of Shadows" in Batman Begins beeing placed in an asian country? We still don't know if this was some kind of headquarter or not BUT we now, they train in asian martial arts and beeing a ninja (how much more asian can it get?)SO, my thoughts flying in: We know the Shaolin monks can do things, odinary people would consider as "superpowers" like bending metal spikes and standing on one finger and stuff AND super strenght... I know that sounds far-fetched but if you combine the asian backround Nolan gave the League in "Begins" and add some more points, you could easily put somthing like superhuman strenght in a realism-bases world like the one Nolan created.
This theory would also add some more baddasismn (yes that's a word....since...now) to Bane cause it's not only the gas which helps him survive the pain, it's also his unbelievable mindpower he gained by going through the League of Shadows-training. After all, he is known as beeing strong willed and strong minded. That would add a lot, don't you think? :)

EDIT: Just got through the trailer in slo-mo. The second Bane punshes the wall, you can see, that there has already been some damage to it. So maybe there is just a secret thing hidden in the wall.. his goons already smacked the shit out of the wall, sweating and beeing exhausted for trying to get to the freakin' thing out... Then Bane walks in like a Boss...says "Well..well...well...let me handle this, kids" and smacks through the rest of the wall, giving free whats inside....and looks like a total badass while doing it of course :D

IMHO we haven't got anything to assume Miranda is anything but Miranda. Also Juno Temple is far more of a bodytype that would fit to the role of Talia as we now her in the comics or even in the Arkham City-Game and as stated in my last post i think we haven't seen any footage of Juno 'cause it would be just too much of a reveal that she is Talia.
Hm..we don't really know for a fact that Bane's group is a dissidence.. why would you assume that?
But the training thing? That would be cool.. You mean he could be one of the survivors of the explosions caused by Bruce in "Begins"? Would be killer, but if i remember correctly one member of Nolan's team said in an interview that the Scars and wounds of Bane happend in his youth. That wouldn't fit to the theory :/

About Bane, would be great if he was one of the survivors of the fire in the temple occured in Begins! Well, this not invalidates the scars theory - he could has been adopted by Ras and grew up in the temple, already wounded in some way.
Nolan said in an interview that Bane was expelled from LOS because his aggresive and extreme behaviour, or something like that. So... the mercenaries could be some renegades headhunters recruited by him.

Nolan said that about Bane? Damn, i never read that interview. When was this? But i think that's a good point. In the first 2 trailers we could see, that Bane frees Blackgate prisioners and that wouldn't be done by a "normal" LOS-group, 'cause in Ducard/Al Ghul's eyes these people would be scum and worthless crap..like the people he wanted to wipe off the face of earth in "Begins". But Bane seems to use them as simple foot-soldiers, like simple chess-figures. Things, you don't mind if they get caught or killed. Just can't wait :)

'Cause he would recognize a huge bold masked guy among all the others :D But i think there's a problem with this theory. The temple-training was all about sneaking, stealth, ninja stuff and Bane is just..you know...brutal force. No elegance in his movements and that doesn't seem to be a training he could have received there. And it still leaves the question why he would end up in a prision and what Alfred's comment "born and raised in place like hell on earth" (or something similar, don't remember the exact words ^^) mean. I'm so excited for his backstory :)

About Juno/Thalia... well like One-eyed said... didn't see that one coming, but Nolan is one for deceit when it comes to hiding characters' personas. (i.e. Henry Ducard)

Now there's about a month of waiting left. When people start camping out for days before the movie then you know shit just got real.
There should be a animated lego version of this trailer.
Haven't seen a single Nokia in this trailer, now that's what I call product placement!
This movie is almost 3hours long, and we have seen only the tip of the iceberg!
How the heck Nolan can keep the plot under wraps is amazing in itself.
His resume is Memento, Prestige, Batman Begins, Inception, The Dark Knight, and it's time to campaign so he gets a Academy of Motion Picture award for best director in The Dark Knight Rises.
This summer, you will forget about Spider-man, you will forget about the Summer Olympics, you will forget about the presidential election, but you will remember, oh yes you will, THE FIRE RISES!!

Yeah, and I think most fans were worried alot at first. I love how ever since the first trailer came out everything has just gotten better and better. I would be real surprised if this movie doesn't blow the other two out of the water with outstanding reviews.
