Total Film has been teasing The Dark Knight Rises news and today its been revealed! They've released a brand new interactive iPad app that's packed with new photos, new interviews, and new information. This issue isn't just about The Dark Knight Rises though, it's got a behind the scenes look at Batman Begins and The Dark Knight too. It even includes a letter from Tim Burton, explaining why he was so interested in Batman. Whether you pick it up on the newsstand, or download the iPad app, this issue is a must buy for any Batman fan! Check out the new photos* for now, and I'll update this post with interesting quotes and information from the article a little later today.

Update: I just read through Total Film, and while there wasn't much new info, there were a few interesting points:

Temperatures got up to 120 degrees during the shoot in Jodhpur, India.
Batman Begins' theme was fear, The Dark Knight...chaos, Christian Bale said that "pain" is constant throughout The Dark Knight Rises.
In terms of brutality, The Dark Knight Rises exceeds The Dark Knight.
Christopher Nolan admitted that the ending of The Dark Knight left the audience hanging, and explained that The Dark Knight Rises has a great ending. Nolan is thrilled to bring the story around full circle to its conclusion.

    Agree, they made it sound like something huge was going to happen, the marketing was hyped up and it was all BS. I'm very disappointed with Total Film.... All that we got is only a few new decent photos!

        Like I have said before here,WB doesn't really need to market The Dark Knight Rises Sony and Disney/Paramount had to come out full force because these are new projects.The Dark Knight Rises is already been established as quality. - This is the last one so regardless of what it makes the series is over .... I am not saying I don't want it to make money, I hope everyone goes to go see this. - Personally, I am done with looking at pictures.Give us some interviews along the way...68 days till doomsday!!

        Hmmm... sorry dude, but i don't buy this "TDKR is already been established as quality" argument. Even it was the case, i think the fans deserve some gifts to kill the anticipation a little bit. I'm not talking about promote the film to make more money, but to please the Batman's huge fanbase who are following every single step of the production. Plus, for the FINAL chapter of an era, i think we deserve more cool stuff. Just my opinion.

      Sorry man, didn't give me the option to reply to your reply to me below --- I understand what your saying. I don't think I have ever followed a movie this closely, but I for one am satisfied for what we got. I might be making excuses for WB, but I am just excited for it and think there is no reason to market TDKR anymore ... but I definitely would not say NO to a cool poster and or/tv spot. I'd like to see some interviews, personally. - I guess we'll see how it goes down soon enough.

        Agreed. For me, anything they are showing is just extra icing on a already delicious cake. But I do hope WB has something in store for us later.

  Doubt it. She is her own person and I want her to have a complicated relationship with Batman in order to flesh out her character. Having her taking orders from Batman doesn't seem like her in my opinion.

    gotham, of course is not the same as gothic, but if you look closely, gotham city has many gothic elements in its design, and since there is no translation for the english word gotham (which actually means "home for goats", look it up) they took the translation for the word gothic for the spanish name of the city.

  I love how much expression he shows through his eyes. I think he's going to do a great job with Bane while only being able to act through his body language and eyes. Very menacing and his voice is going to be great. Sure some of it is hard to understand, but the tone is amazing, and after we all watch the movie 10 times we'll know what he's saying word for word.

Look here folks.The Dark Knight's first two TV Spots came out May 12th.So I think it's safe to assume The Dark Knight Rises' first TV Spot is very close.Maybe it'll debut with the poster?It'll be EPIC!
