Yesterday thousands of extras filled up Heinz Field for a scene in The Dark Knight Rises. Bane showed up, and while it's hard to hear him, we get our first listen at what he might sound like. Check out the video of Bane's scene and photos from the shoot, courtesy of some really brave fans. No huge plot points are revealed, but if you're avoiding spoilers, don't watch the video!

He sounds like a dorky English man to me.. Hate the voice, i swear i almost though he was about to say DEAR SIR, I'D FANCY CRUMPETS WITH MY TEA KIND SIR.. . Should've gone for a deeper/raspy/Spanish voice..

You might think its bad, but Mexican Bane would not work as well in TDKR, Bane is from the league of shadows and they have no connection to Mexican/Spanish whatsoever, it will obviously look better in the final film, after all, the reason he talks with an english accent, is that he was raised by Ras Al Ghul(Liam Neeson) so the british accent works.

Liam Neeson is Irish not English, so that doesn't actually make a whole lot of sense. Also I seriously doubt that's the voice we'll hear come July 2012.

I know that hes my 3rd cousin, but for batman begins his voice was to sound more english, and after all tom hardy is english, and it is probably rather hard for him to change it

I can imagine Mexican Bane coming out threatning to destroy Gotham, if he doesn't get his hourly wage as a school janitor of 1 dollar up to 1.50, lol it wouldnt work especially with Christian Bale saying stuff to him like " Why do you wanna kill me!!" and Bane replying with "Ce?"

That was completely ignorant and racist.
And Bane isn't even Mexican! He's from a fictional Caribbean island. I'm no fan of political correctness, but if you're gonna stereotype people at least get their nationality correct.
P.S. Minimum wage is around $7. And it's not " Ce" its "Que".

If you look at ChangeTheChannel's other videos from the shoot, you'd see that the Tumbler also makes an appearance at the Heinz Field shoot. Question... Why are all the Tumblers in camo vs. black?
Well batmans was black and Bane knows were batman got his tumbler and bane stole himself some from the impound lot at were they are kept, and the original default color of the tumblers is brown camo, batman sprayed his black though, and the brown really matches banes appearance, Basically Bane is a mirror image of Batman, he was trained by the same person as batman in the ninja code, expect bane is stronger because he is pumped up with performance inhancers, but him and batman think very alike.

Why does Bane sound like an old english chap on a safari in africa?

You morons, that's Tom Hardy's regular accent, he's screaming, trying to make his words trying to make his words understandable, using a mask, that voice is just to shoot the scene, there will be a re-dub of all Bane's scenes due to the mask problem

thats not his usual voice, if you watch his interviews for different movies, his accent changes very easily.

I like how intelligent he sounds. He sounds old and withered but intelligent sounding and really creepy. His voice could also change once he takes the venom, you never know.

Next poll of the podcast should be: "Who do you think is the hostage?" a) Batman/Bruce , b) Jim Gordon, c) Harvey Dent , d) Mayor Antonhy Garzia, e) The Joker xDDDDDD

The hostage could be Commissioner Gordon. That's probably why he's in the hospital in the trailer.

The hostage is Alon Aboutboul as Mad Scientist (Hugo Strange perhaps) see it by yourself in the video posted below by "BANE MATELO"

JG Leviit character announced s John Blake is also called "Birdeye" "birdey" or something like that, i know this from a friend inside, i don't know if that is important but you know... is a curious detail

Bane had a henchman called "Bird" in the comics....

I think it's the mad scientist, definitely not joker. And I dont think Bane is trying to convince people he's there to create order as such, in the scene he blows up the football pitch and kills all the players and the refs, not very civilised. I still dont think JGL will be a villain, I think he'll just be an important cop like Gordon has been.

What is up with the voice? It doesnt sound like I would think Bane would sound like. You would imaging bane to have a deep, bellowing voice. This guy sounds like he's going to off some football players then have some tea and crumpets with the queen! Reminiscent of a kookie guy from A clockwork orange.
I really hope Nolan has something good up his sleeve for Bane... or like some of the rumors state...have a much more menacing secondary villain.
As with most things Nolan and Batman, we need to sit back and wait for the final product.

This voice seriously came out of the blue....I don't think anybody was expecting his voice to be like that. But I kinda liked it. It's an oddly creepy and foreboding voice. When he spoke, his voice came with a kind of doomsday feel to it. But in the final product, the voice will sound better so there ya go.

I really liked Bane's voice... he sounds like a 100 years old man!
1- And why is that? Venom side effects? He's vacillating and clearing his throat all the time... something like Jokers licking his mouth tic in TDK! We must see the context of the flick to analyze better.
2- What is that metallic sphere? In my opinion looks like the earthquake machine that appeared in comics, and match with the TDKR teaser poster!
3- Who is the hostage? Could be some Batman's double... Blake? Lucious? Or the mad scientist... some people said that is the scientist indeed!1 like
The first time I watched the video, I was taken aback...really wasn't expecting that voice. The second time I watched it I laughed when he said instrument. Then the third time watched it to analyze it...it was very creepy, almost sinister. It gave the video a kind of doomsday feel to it, especially when he brought out that machine. Of course, the final product will make his voice sound better, and hopefully, creepier. I like so far how this bane is totally different from the comics. He's smaller, still muscular, and has a fragile voice...totally opposite of the comics yet it still feels like bane. We can't actually analyze too much, since they are definitely going to edit his voice.
Something else interesting, like another poster mentioned, Bane sounds like a revolutionary. The mass chaos of this movie, the end of the world/doomsday feel to his voice, the fact that he wants to kill everybody in the field with his machine yet he's telling them to take control of Gotham and the fact that he's about to execute someone in front of them (I'm guessing to help convince them). All this has me wondering what his motive is. I actually don't know much about the comics, so I don't know if the comic-book Bane had a clear-cut end goal, but Nolan's Bane definitely does.
Bane ripped up Harvey Dent's photo, and now this mysterious hostage also stands for something that makes him think a revolution is necessary. The people who were at the shoot said the character was someone new. I'm guessing it was someone we don't know. Who is this scientist you're talking about? I was thinking maybe Mr. Arkham or Lucius or some government official/lawyer..

Well, all we can do is to speculate... but yes, I like Bane's voice, I think is very unregular/displaced voice which makes him look more bizarre and sinister as you said. He seems to be some sick man or very old man, a guy with some sort of disfunction or illness. Very intriguing!
About the hostage, well, some people said in the internet, that the dead fella is Lucious, some others are saying that guy is Gordon [which i doubt], and another group of people said is the character of Alon Aboutboul [the so speculated mad scientist]. I think must be some very important character to the plot. Alon is supposed to play Hugo, or dr Darkk. But again, is all speculation! But at the deep of my heart, i think the dead hostage is Lucious indeed...

It's Alon Aboutboul. Watch this video and see for yourself. It's clearly not Lucious. http://www.youtube.com/watc...

I'm starting to think Bane is going to have a lot of day-time scenes....maybe because batman would be more unlikely to come out during the day?...

I think the fanboys who feel the need to criticize everything should just not read any Batman news for the next year. You guys are complaining about Tom Hardy's height but you have no idea how Nolan is filming him. There are camera tricks to make people appear taller. You guys are complaining about Selina Kyle's costume when we don't even know if this is the final version. And now you're complaining about Bane's voice. Did it ever occur to you that this is meant to show that Ban is sick? For all we know, he's suffering from Venom withdrawal. So here's some advice for the fanboys. Go take your ADHD meds and learn some patience before you overreact to everything.

I agree. If you look at the teaser, when Bane emerges from the bottom of the camera, he looks absolutely massive. Nolan knows exactly what he's doing and Tom has one hell of a performance up his sleeve. The voice he has conjured up just proves this point even more.

I agree, bane is going to be awesome :)

When I first heard the voice, I thought Gordon had escaped from the hospital with his oxygen mask. That being said, I don't have a problem with the voice. Bane still looks badass. I think people expected maybe a low growly voice? I wasn't sold on Ledger's Joker voice when I first heard it, and look how that turned out.

Once again Batman News delivers!!
To all the people complaining about spoilers, how is any of this a spoiler?? I've followed everything about this movie from beginning to now and I don't have a clue what's going on in this scene. So Bane is talking at football game, we have no idea what's happening or what's going on. Honest to god the most spoilerish information (in terms of plot) that's come out so far has been the trailer.
As for Hardy's voice, it sounds awesome but rest assured they will re-do in post production.

Interestingly enough though Bane says "This, this is the instrument of your demolition"... Who would fit that description?
