Christopher Nolan's cinematographer Wally Pfister was interviewed at TheWrap's Inception screening last night at the ArcLight Sherman Oaks. He talked about the decision to stay away from 3D, but also squashed a few recent rumors. Pfister said he and Nolan hope to shoot much of the The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX, but they won't shoot the entire film in the format. Pfister noted that cost and the inability to capture sound as just two of the reason why The Dark Knight Rises won't be shot entirely in IMAX. These statements dismiss the rumor that Collider reported last night.

Another interesting quote from the article is when Pfister said he doubts that The Dark Knight Rises will film in New Orleans. That goes against what I've heard, as well as most of the internet. TheWrap notes that Pfister hasn't officially signed on for The Dark Knight Rises, and he doesn't even expect to see the script until early next year. Pfister has shot all of Nolan's films since Memento (2000), I think it's safe to say he'll be handling the cameras when The Dark Knight Rises begins production next spring.
