4 on World's Finest: Teen Titans #6 reviewIt's the last issue of this miniseries, and the Titans are gearing up to face their greatest foe yet: themselves! Can Robin pull the team together in time to stop the Terror Titans and save the future of superhero-dom as we know it? Let's dive in and find out! When there's trouble... This was a…
Howdy, Bat-fans! We're back again with one of the best comics coming out of DC these days, and I really can't stress enough how much I love it. After the action-packed antics of the last few issues, it's time to slow down and get a little slice-of-life stuff in. Let's check in on our heroes…
Last month Knight Terrors: Detective Comics opened up its story with the focus on Jim Gordon and his own internal conflict regarding how he’s protected Gotham all these years. This issue continues to press into those questions, and explore the idea of Gotham’s future in the face of protectors who have been there for years.…
Hey there, Bat-fans! As many of you may know, I’m a huge fan of Mark Waid’s work. My first encounter with him was his Legion of Super-Heroes run when I was 11, during my initial period of obsession with the team, and I fell head over heels for his writing. Since then, I’ve read countless more of his…
Detective Comics foray into the Knight Terrors event focuses in on Jim Gordon rather than Batman himself, and takes a look at Gotham and Jim’s role in stewarding it through the years, and all the insecurities that come with a lifetime spent trying to save one city. The book opens on a snowy day in…
This month Detective Comics kicks into high gear as Batman and his allies charge forward to confront the Orghams. Will pushing the pace into a higher gear jump start this run, and breathe some much needed momentum into things? Let’s see. Right away I want to say that I am so glad to see faster…
After teasing some further details about the Orgham’s past last month, this issue of Detective Comics makes good on its promise and delivers a backstory meant to give depth, and answer at least a few questions about what’s going on. Since we've seen so much of the family over this series, does this backstory really…
This month Detective Comics continues to work its way steadily deeper into the web of intrigue it’s built around the Orghams, and into Bruce’s own struggle with his continuing mission as Batman. Reading Detective Comics has begun to feel like a lesson in patience. I enjoy it, and each issue does take time to focus…
It's the final issue of this series, and while I'm not exactly distraught to see it go, I do think it's a little sad that this might be the last we see of this version of Batman's world. I've really enjoyed the Gotham Knights universe, and I hope we get to see more of it in…
Last month’s issue ended with Two-Face rescuing Batman, after Harvey finally decided to let his other half know the Caped Crusader’s true identity. Injured, and under the care of not only Two-Face but the Ten Eyed Man as well, just what’s in store for Bruce this issue? Detective Comics is lovely, character focused, and always…
We're back with a blast from the past (a few, actually) in this week's issue of Gilded City! This whole mini has been better than it had any right to be, especially for a video game tie-in comic, and I honestly would love to see this Narcisse/Abel/John/Wands team on a future bat-project, unhindered by any obligations…
After a three part lead up to this in the backups, and an explosive ending last month, this issue of Detective Comics promises to focus heavily on Harvey Dent and his continuing struggle against himself and the azmer inside him. However things turn out, it’s sure to be interesting. I’ve long said that Harvey Dent…
It's time to dive back into Gotham with our favorite vigilantes! A quick aside before we get started, I've been playing the Heroic Assault raids in Gotham Knights: The Game the Comic the Game, and they're a lot of fun! I teamed up with some friends, and we were able to clear most of the floors…
After last month’s rather chilly ending to the main issue, and flash to the past during the annual, Detective Comics continues its exploration of Gotham’s past, and future with this latest installment. With the addition of Mr. Freeze into the mix, and the Orghams taking more and more steps to control Gotham, things are sure…
After a pretty solid first issue, and a REALLY solid month of playing this game, this series is back with its second installment, and it's great! I've been really impressed with this series so far, both the game and the comic have been way better than I think anyone was expecting. I don't want to…
This month we return to Detective Comics as it picks up in another movement--strain--scene? Of Gotham Overture, this time titled: Something in the Way. It’s been a while since I took a music class, and we never studied operas, so forgive my spotty memory on how best to turn the titles of this series into…
This month the action really picks up in Detective Comics as Batman races to deal with the attack on the Orgham family. The fun doesn’t stop there as old faces from this run show up again, in new and surprising ways. I’m really enjoying this run of Detective Comics by Ram V. It’s ticking away…
Detective Comics #1062 is the opening act of Ram V’s time on the book. Promising operatic darkness, and a new enticing mystery this arc –and run– is sure to be an interesting one. I’m delighted to get a chance to review it, as Ram V is one of my favorite writers at DC right now.…
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a massive fan of Batman: the Brave and the Bold-style team-up stories, so when I volunteered to pick up the rest of Urban Legends, I knew I was in for a good time. Though I missed out on the Batman/Question team-up that always lead to my favorite stories, there are…
