Justice League of America (comic)

8 on Justice League of America #5 reviewJustice League of America #5 “The UnNamed” Written by Matt Kindt and Rob Williams Pencils by Philip Tan Colors by Jeromy Cox So did you show up to your local comic shop and not expect to see this as this month’s issue of JLA? Don’t worry, I was a little blind-sided when I pulled together…
Justice League of America #4 “Power & Glory” Written by Bryan Hitch Art by Bryan Hitch Inks by Daniel Henriques Colors by Alex Sinclair After more than a month’s wait, we finally have the fourth installment of Justice League of America. I’ve enjoyed this book so far, but have openly admitted that my overall consensus…
Justice League of America #3 Written by Bryan Hitch Art by Bryan Hitch Inks by Daniel Henriques Colors by Alex Sinclair Justice League of America is in its third issue, and all I can say is that Bryan Hitch is getting it right! DC currently has two Justice League books in rotation that involve the…
Justice League of America #2 "Power & Glory" Part 2 Written by Bryan Hitch Art by Bryan Hitch Inks by Daniel Henriques, Andrew Currie, and Bryan Hitch Colors by Alex Sinclair Last month, Bryan Hitch debuted Justice League of America, and I thought it was a rather solid start for this title. A lot happened…
Justice League of America #1 "Power & Glory" Written by Bryan Hitch Art by Bryan Hitch Inks by Daniel Henriques, Wade von Grawbadger, and Andrew Currie Colors by Alex Sinclair and Jeromy Cox There have been quite a few questions and reservations surrounding Justice League of America. To be fair, these questions and reservations haven’t…
At the conclusion of Trinity War, nearly all of Earth's heroes vanished. The Crime Syndicate, an evil reflection of the Justice League, conquered our world and freed every sinister villain in the process. These events unfolded in the pages of Forever Evil while the Justice League title revealed Cyborg to be alive and rallying allies…
It was an event that had been in the making since the very launch of the New 52. In September 2011, every #1 debut issue of DC's relaunch featured a Where's Waldo-esque appearance by a cloaked woman who we would later learn to be none other than the Pandora of Greek myth. Little was known…
Back in August, Batman News reported that Justice League of America would become "Justice League Canada" following the events of Forever Evil. Now it appears that the book will take place in outer space as well as Canada and be called "Justice League United." The team's all-new roster no longer includes the likes of Catwoman, Katana, Vibe,…
Although solicitations made Martian Manhunter and Stargirl's confrontation with the lunatics of Gotham City sound like the main attraction, issue #11 only spends about 8 exciting pages in Batman's hometown before moving on to a road trip that sees the pair traveling across the nation to reach Stargirl's family or Firestorm, whichever comes first. While…
If you were browsing through your local comic shop today --a day with 9+ Batman-related comics hitting the shelves-- and saw this comic and said to yourself, "Drawings of a sixteen year old girl taking a bright, golden poo?! Yes, please!" YOU ARE ABOUT TO BE VERY DISAPPOINTED. This is easily one of DC's most…
In the previous issue of Justice League of America, the good guys from the JLA, Justice League, and Justice League Dark were trapped inside of a strange prison and yet Martian Manhunter and Stargirl were inexplicably capable of walking about freely. Issue #8 focused primarily on Martian Manhunter as he was given a tour of…
There was no better sign that Trinity War, the much hyped DC New 52 event, was coming than the launch of Justice League of America. It's the book that really started to pull the DC universe together in a big way and with it being created by the same writer of the original Justice League…
The latest issue of Justice League of America by Matt Kindt and Doug Mahnke is a drawn-out and often repetitive installment that kinda-sorta answers the question "What happened to all the good guys?" On the opening page of JLA #8 we learn that Stargirl and Martain Manhunter have somehow been spared the same fate as…
"Justice League of America" will be renamed "Justice League Canada" in spring 2014 and will feature a new Canadian character. The heroes will head up north after an ongoing crossover comics event Trinity War, in which the current three Justice League teams clash, and the ensuing Forever Evil, in which the villains of the DC…
NOTE: I hereby declare The Phantom Stranger #11 the first necessary tie-in to the Trinity War event. JLA #7 will leave you scratching your head as to what exactly Batman, Katana, Deadman, and Phantom Stranger got themselves into. No, it doesn't play a vital role in this chapter's story but it might give you a…
After my interview with Chris Burnham I had about two hours or so before I would need to head back to the DC Comics booth for more interviews. In that span of time I lost the tiny pieces of paper with my handwritten questions and I tried in vain to hear the audio from my…
I know I said I wasn't going to do any reviews this week but I have a few minutes free right now, DC sent me JLA #6 early and I was able to read it before I left to catch my plane (I'm in LA now and I'll be in San Diego for Comic-Con from…
I had a lot of fun reading this issue. It's loaded with smash-through-the wall fight scenes and groundbreaking revelations that will lead us into Trinity War all sprinkled with Kirby krackle. Now, the big thing we were all talking about at the end of last month's issue was the death of Catwoman. She got shot…
With issue #4 hyped to be the big reveal of the Secret Society of Super Villains, you can be sure that there are quite a few New 52 firsts that happen in this comic. And while not all of the Secret Society emerges from the shadows to introduce themselves, those that do should excite old…
I'll keep this short and sweet since this book came out at the beginning of the month, but I figured I should write some little something what with the series double shipping this month after a 7 week delay from March to May. Issue #3 is a gate-fold cover coming out way behind everyone else…
