Last week, Vero CEO Ayman Hariri shared a picture of himself with Ben Affleck dressed as Batman from the set of Batman v Superman. Today Hariri shared a photo of himself with Henry Cavill, presumably from that same set visit back in 2014. Cavill, in his full Superman costume, can be seen holding Action Comics…
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had several scenes shot with IMAX cameras for its theatrical release. Unfortunately, Warner Bros. did not change aspect ratios on the Blu-ray like they did with Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, so the extra content in those IMAX scenes were lost on the home video release. Well now, those…
On this date in 2014, Zack Snyder, Ben Affleck, and the rest of the Batman v Superman crew shot the fan-favorite "Knightmare Batman" scene. In honor of this day three years ago, Snyder took to the mobile social network Vero to share a new look at Ben Affleck as Batman from the Batman v Superman…
This week on Instagram concept artist Jerad S.Marantz shared some of the early work he did for Batman v Superman costume designer Michael Wilkinson, and it shows a very different looking Batsuit. The early Batsuit design is very high-tech and sleek looking, almost like something you'd expect to see Christian Bale wearing in one of…
A year after Marvel took a shot at the "Martha" scene in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in issue #6 of "Spider-Man/Deadpool"... they're at it again! This time, it comes courtesy of "Deadpool vs. The Punisher (2017) #5". Deadpool can be seen beating the crap out of The Punisher, when he suddenly stops himself…
Yesterday Zack Snyder shared an awesome new photo of Batman, but he also shared the very first photo he took of Gal Gadot after casting her as Wonder Woman in December 2013 for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. "This is the first photo I took of Gal," Snyder wrote on Vero. You can see…
Zack Snyder just posted a new photo of Batman on the social networking app Vero and captioned it "shot this with my 4x5", which is a large format camera. That's definitely not the Justice League Batsuit, and the setting looks new, which leads me to believe that this is from an early costume test from…
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cinematographer Larry Fong was asked a question about shooting with IMAX cameras this evening, and he answered with some photos and examples from an IMAX camera test with Amy Adams as Lois Lane. In the images below, you can see how large the IMAX camera film is from the…
The LA Times published a piece this week about IMAX cameras in Hollywood. As you probably know, one of the biggest IMAX fans is the Dark Knight Trilogy director Christopher Nolan. IMAX cameras are expensive and the lenses can be difficult to come by. Nolan has his own personal collection of lenses, and actually let…
The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Superman's mom, Diane Lane, at a women's filmmaker luncheon industry event and asked about Justice League and Batman v Superman's "Martha" twist. "I don't think I'm allowed to talk much about it. But it was good for me, selfishly, to have a reunion with everyone and meeting some of…
Andy DiGenova co-hosts the Batman News podcast (don't worry, it's coming back soon!), but he also hosts his own podcast called Holy BatCast. This week Richard Cetrone, Ben Affleck's Batman stunt double, was a guest on the show, and told lots of cool stories from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. The first big…
Last year at costume convention Monsterpalooza, Ironhead Studio founder Jose Fernandez set up a booth to make sure his great work was recognized. Fernandez and his team at Ironhead Studio built the costumes for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but unfortunately they did not receive screen credit for their work. Fernandez was back this…
Today I stumbled upon some photos of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cast from a promotional photo shoot, and everyone looks beautiful! The photos come from production designer Rae Scarton, who I'm assuming designed the various sets that were used in this shoot. Take a look at Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams,…
One of the most criticized characters in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was the villain Doomsday. Many fans weren't happy with his final design, and new pieces of concept art reveal that more comic book accurate versions were explored. Concept artist Jerad S.Marantz shared the early Doomsday designs on his Instagram account. "Here's a…
This week I was contacted by Jorge Loor. He and his two friends Andrès Quirola and Jorge Rodrìguez co-founded a company based in Guayaquil, Ecuador called Adapta. The company works on projects ranging from classic car restoration to architecture, and since they're big Batman fans they decided to build their very own Batmobile! In December…
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set a March box office record last year when the movie opened with a huge $166.1 million in North America. Unfortunately, this weekend that record has been broken. Disney's Beauty and the Beast made $170 million this weekend, setting a new March box office record. SOURCE: Variety
In a new interview with Inverse, composer Hans Zimmer got honest about his opinion of Batman and Ben Affleck's performance, and also repeated what he said earlier this year: the right script could get him out of superhero movie retirement. "I spent months trying to come up with something for Ben," Zimmer explained. "The Batman that…
YouTube personality Grace Randolph caught up with VFX supervisors John DJ DesJardin and Bryan Hirota this week. DesJardin has been working with director Zack Snyder since his 2009 movie Watchmen. In this fantastic 25 minute interview, you get to learn about all the hard work that went into Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and…
It sounds like we won't be taking a trip to The Daily Planet when Justice League hits theaters in November. The LA Times caught up with Laurence Fishburne, who plays Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Planet, Perry White, and he explained that a scheduling conflict prevented him from being able to appear in Justice League. "They…
We've seen images from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice highlighting what things looked like before and after the special effects, but director Zack Snyder just took it a step further! Snyder just shared an 12 minute video that shows what Batman v Superman looked like before and after the CGI. "This is a look…
