DC Studios provides updates on multiple projects

DC Studios co-chairs James Gunn and Peter Safran have offered updates on most of the upcoming DC film and TV slate.

DC Movie Updates

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow - Film is about halfway through production and maintains a release date of June 26, 2026.

Clayface - Peter Safran said of the film, "Clayface isn’t widely known as Penguin or Joker, but we think his story is as deeply resonant, thrilling and even more terrifying." Release date is set for Sept. 11, 2026.

The Batman 2 - Final script has not been turned in yet, but production is set to begin at the end of this year and release on Oct. 1, 2027.

Brave and the Bold - Film will be based on Grant Morrison's run on Batman. A scriptwriter has been picked, but they are not ready to reveal who it is yet.

Sgt. Rock - Gunn and Safran clarified that Daniel Craig was never fully attached to the film, and the hunt is on for an actor for the title role. The movie may shoot as soon as this summer.

Swamp Thing - "The ball is really in [James Mangold's] court."

Teen Titans - Ana Nogueira has turned in a draft of the script.

The Authority - Still in development.

DC TV Updates

Peacemaker - Season 2 will debut in Aug. 2025.

Waller - Still in development, but the strikes impacted work on it.

Lanterns - Currently filming and will premiere in early 2026.

Paradise Lost - Series set on Themyscira is still in development.

Booster Gold - Original showrunner left the project, and development is continuing under someone else.

Blue Beetle Animated Series - In development and Angel Manuel Soto & Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer are preparing for a final pitch.

October 2027 for Batman 2 is so far away, huge gap between sequels.

        Good things come to those who wait.🙂 We’ve seen too many movies ruined by rushed scripts. It’s an epidemic in Hollywood.

        Agree, but take also into account that if too much time passes, the hype for something can also go away.
        I'll always wondered that if Aquaman 2 would've released before that 5 years gap, maybe it could've benefited from the first one success and have made more money than it made

        Perhaps we’ll get a second season of The Penguin and/or another spin off show that that keep the interest and hype going in the meantime.🙂

        yeah, thought that too, although Collin Farrell himself has said there's no hurry for that neither, so maybe a few years also go by before that... Who knows at this point

If Clayface is something along the lines of the recent Batman 1989 book sequel, it should be promising

I love Clayface. It's just not clear to me what universe will that movie be set in as it comes before Brave and the Bold and The Batman 2
