It seems there is no rest for the co-chair of DC Studios as James Gunn has confirmed he is pre-writing his next DCU project.
Gunn was asked on social media how he was balancing all of his work right now with post-production occurring on Superman and Peacemaker season 2, as well as managing other projects. Gunn replied that not only is he doing all that, but more as well.
The bulk of my time is dealing with post-production on Superman and Peacemaker, but I'm also spending a fair amount of time pre-writing my next DC Studios project and watching dailies and offering ideas on the other projects. It's much less overwhelming than when I was directing.
For those unfamiliar with the term "pre-writing," it can cover a wide range of different activities, from research and outlining to a complete script treatment.
As to what the project is, it could be any number of things. Creature Commandos has been renewed for season 2, he has previously identified The Authority as being a potential project – although nothing has been announced on him writing it yet – or he could even be planning a second Superman movie. We simply don't know as of yet.
It's clear Gunn doesn't plan to let the dust settle on him, however, and he's going to keep the projects rolling out.
