After 85 years, Batman is getting his recognition as one of the most iconic superheroes of all time. This September he'll be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame alongside legends such as Adam West from the hit 1966 show and Batman co-creator Bob Kane. The decision was actually announced some time ago, but a series of delays over the course of the pandemic put off the actual unveiling ceremony until now.

The event will take place Thursday, September 26, at 11:30 a.m. PT at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Hollywood Guinness World Records Museum. There, "Batman" will attend in person to receive both the star and a Guinness World Record for being the first superhero to do so. It will be only the latest world record the Caped Crusader has received, in addition to others such as longest running comic book (Detective Comics), most adapted comic book character, and most Oscar winners to play a superhero (George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck).

Also in attendance will be DC's Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee and Senior Vice President/General Manager Anne DePies. The first 100 attendees to purchase a Batman product at Funko Hollywood on Tuesday, September 24 will receive a special wristband that will allow them access to an exclusive signing and meet and greet with Jim Lee that Thursday. One wristband per person and no outside products allowed for signing.

Finally, Warner Bros. will be collaborating with Funko Hollywood to stage a pop-up museum the day of the event. This will include famous props and costumes from Batman's history of film and TV. There also promise to be a few surprises.
