Pom Klementieff has confirmed she has spoken with James Gunn about "one specific character" in the DCU, but won't reveal who it is.
Klementieff, who played Mantis in both throughout the Guardians of the Galaxy film series, appeared at Superhero Comic Con in San Antonio this past weekend. Agents of Fandom asked the actor who she may play in the DCU, to which she replied, "Do you really think I'm going to answer this question? I just want to keep working with James [Gunn], so we're going to keep trying to find ways to do that. Yes, we've been talking about one specific character, but I can't talk about that right now."
Gunn is well-known for reusing cast members that he enjoys working with. The Suicide Squad gave him the chance to do this with multiple actors. Michael Rooker played Savant and has had some form of role in every film Gunn has made since Slither in 2006. Nathan Fillion is another frequent collaborator and played T.D.K. Klementieff had a brief cameo as a dancer in the bar in Corto Maltese. It wouldn't be difficult for her to play someone else in the DC Universe still.
The co-CEO of DC Studios has said previously that he is going to see how he can use his cast from the Guardians franchise in the DCU when possible. Considering the speed with which Gunn is expanding the DCU roster of characters, we imagine it won't be too long before we learn who Klementieff will be playing.
The first DC project scheduled for release is the animated Creature Commandos series in December.
