Xolo Mariduena is opening up about his future as Blue Beetle in the upcoming new DC Universe.
Despite the first Blue Beetle movie coming out during the days of the DC Extended Universe, Mariduena is slated to carry on in the role. DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has stated that a few of the actors would return to their roles, and specifically mentioned Mariduena.
It has been some time since anything has been said about this, but now Mariduena has commented on the situation in a new interview with Screen Rant.
"I know we’ll see Blue Beetle again, whether it comes in the form of Blue Beetle 2 or wherever," said Mariduena. "It’s been really great to work alongside James [Gunn] and Peter [Safran], who have graciously folded us into their new universe even though it wasn’t part of what they came up with. It’s an honor. Now, where Blue Beetle heads in the future? I don’t know. But I can confidently say that we will see him soon."
Perhaps Mariduena voice Blue Beetle in the Creature Commandos animated series, or he may have a cameo in Superman: Legacy, but, for now, we'll just have to keep guessing.
