   I don't mind Sean in Guardians as a comedic side character but i do not see him as Lord, honestly this seems like Gunn just giving his brother a major role not because he's right for it but because he's lucky to be Gunn's brother.

      The fact that it's Sean Gunn playing him honestly maybe indicates that Lord "won't" be a major role, and instead just a background character of sorts to flesh out the world In some small ways I guess. Gunn has made it known that this is a universe where a lot of heroes and fairly major characters already exist. So it wouldn't surprise me at least. He literally played Calendar man, a character some might consider somewhat significant, for an extremely brief cameo.

         Yeah its consistent that Sean Gunn only really plays fairly minor roles for the most part, hell he's already playing Weasel for Creature Commandos.

         So yeah its a strong possibility Lord won't have that major a role in whatever he's appearing.

   Pedro Pascal played the part well enough, at least in terms of personality
   though his motivations in that movie didn't make much sense (like a lot of the plot in WW84)

   I'm not sure I can buy Sean Gunn as a charismatic, larger than life, grifter, businessman. (or his reworked personality of an evil mastermind secretly trying to control all superhumans post 'Infinite Crisis')

      I thought Pascal's version was more of a caricature of Max Lord. I don't know if that was because of the script or Pascal, but frankly I don't even want to know.

   I never thought they would use this character this soon, more so after WW84 fiasco... Maybe they give the actual personality of the character, although, as other commenters have said, I don't see Gunn's bro playing that part...

   Will they give him his comics' death though?

   There are three things that are for certain in the film industry: when Rob Zombie makes a movie, he hires his wife, when Paul W.S. Anderson makes a movie, he hires his wife & when James Gunn makes a movie, he hires his wife and brother. The lesson is, have a famous sibling or spouse that can give you a job.

      Tim Burton used to always cast Helena Bonham Carter. It must have been in his contract.

      Ron Howard always found parts for his brother Clint. Blood is thicker than celluloid, I guess.

   Sean Gunn as Max Lord is a visual and character-actor mismatch on every level the more I think about it. James could've made his brother plenty of other characters that actually fit him in the DCU. I have no doubt I could go through the characters and find a few of them he could choose from.       Yeah. Serious NEPO going on there. And really I don't get how they will make him work unless he is played as a tech bro douche. But people, Snyder tried that shtick with BvS and that was NOT working. Jenkins sideways-screwed him and everyone else as a character in WW84. Maybe it will make sense in the movie...
