Hello everyone and welcome back to Upcoming Comics! This week most of the remaining Knight Terrors books wrap up, with the proper finale coming week. As we get close to wrapping up the event I can’t say the full content ever really changed my original opinion on the event. A few books really shined, but for the most part it didn’t do much for me as a reader. And with Gotham War coming hot on the heels of this event, my general event fatigue seems worse than ever. Still, there are a number of new and upcoming titles to look forward to that have me excited as the year moves forward!
For now, let’s look at what’s coming out this week, it’s a pretty big Bat week so there’s quite a bit to get to!

Knight Terrors: Detective Comics #2
After seeing diamonds violently pour out of a woman’s mouth and the metal of his old Batman robo-suit soldered onto someone’s flesh to wear around Gotham…Jim Gordon slowly realizes that “the good people of Gotham” being represented by monstrous ideations of power, wealth, and knowledge…aren’t very good people at all. Jim’s investigation leads him to a mysterious clock, and he goes to Oracle for help to trace who or what is causing this nightmare…but whether he is able to wake up from it at all will be up to more than just himself.

Thoughts: I really enjoyed the first part of this particular Knight Terrors story, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up.

Thoughts: Mr. Baseball sounds like an excellent rogue to add to the gallery. Just think of all the bat puns that could be tossed back and forth between him and Batman.

Knight Terrors #4
Insomnia searches the nightmares of all the heroes for his precious Nightmare Stone and keeps on coming up empty-clawed! Wesley Dodds, Batman, and I must return to the haunted Arkham Tower to confront Insomnia, but…now I know why Insomnia hates the heroes. And I gotta be honest: I’m having a hard time not relating. Maybe Insomnia is owed his revenge.

Knight Terrors: Harley Quinn #2
What unseen horrors lurk beyond the borders of the known and the klown? Thoughts: Dropping a #1 the week after a #0 with this series is a great way to keep it in reader’s minds, especially with a solicit as packed as this one. This book looks like it’s got a lot going on!

Beyond the Bat
Welcome back to Beyond the Bat! Here we’ll look at the books DC’s releasing this week that aren’t totally focused on Batman. In comparison to the onslaught of Bat books this week, the rest of the titles feel pretty light. Action Comics and Angel Breaker wrap up their Knight Terrors issues, and like Ravager I can’t help but wonder at the reasons for Angel Breaker getting a Knight Terrors spin off with the character being so new and feeling pretty niche. But I do hope it’s a solid read!
Ratings
Most Excited- Knight Terrors: Detective Comics #2- It’s no surprise this is my most excited for title this week. Its first issue has been my favorite Knight Terrors book I’ve read so far, and I’m really hoping it continues that streak into its wrap up.
Least Excited- Knight Terrors #4- I haven’t been really clicking with the main Knight Terrors titles so far, and see little in this to alter that.
Wild Card- Dark Knights of Steel #12- As the wrap up to this series I’m really hoping it can bring things together in a satisfying way that leaves this Elseworld’s tale in a good place.
