Gotham Knights cinematic trailer tells the story of sidekicks

Warner Bros. Games has released a Gotham Knights cinematic trailer, and it seems that being a sidekick may not be all it's cracked up to be.

Set in a timeline where Batman has died, Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood are going to have to try to protect Gotham from everyone who wants to claim control for themselves.

The Knights are not just sidekicks, replacements, or imitations. They are everything their predecessor taught them and so much more. The Gotham Knights are Gotham’s future.

Gotham Knights will release on Oct. 21.

Got the Deluxe Edition pre-ordered, i know people are down on it but i'm pretty excited.

I have zero interest in it, tbh. If the reviews are really good, I might change my mind, but the way I see it, it's a downgrade in almost every way compared to Arkham.
Said it from the beginning, but if I ever play this game, Batgirl is the only one I'll use... after we saw what the other characters use to get around the city, there's no doubt I'd never use them. Jason's jumping nonsense, Tim's teleporting & Dick's hanging glider (just why??) all look incredibly stupid to me.
Might play as Nightwing here or there but that's it... again, that's all assuming I ever touch this game, which I severely doubt. Wouldn't be surprised it flops badly. But I'm also curious to see the reviews and what the fans (ppl like you) say about it. Hope I'm wrong.

  Oh i don't like how non Batgirl characters get about, Jason's way is just a very bad idea but i get they wanted them all feeling unique. As for the comparisons to Arkham i'm honestly not really thinking of it that way as its not a Arkham game, granted making this Arkham 4 complete with Arkham gameplay would have been better but i guess they wanted more freedom. Either way though i think it looks fun, at the very least i can mess around in an open world Gotham as Bargirl.

    Yeah, being able to mess around in an open world as Batgirl sounds cool, ngl. But I'm really turned off by how lifeless the city looks. They marketed this game/city as being filled with civilians & traffic, as opposed to the Arkham games which only had goons running around. Sounds awesome. And yet when we saw the gameplay, the streets are almost completely empty. Even in Arkham Knight, there were dozens of goons walking around everywhere. In Gotham Knights, it looks like one person every street.

      Yeah that is a concern, hopefully even if it is rather empty NPC wise the city still fun to mess around in. I will say the city lacking civilians in Arkham Knight is something i never liked, i get plot wise it kinda made sense but like the Prototype games has a city gone to hell plot and NYC in both is full of them. I feel Rocksteady just couldn't be bothered to program them in.

      I'm not so sure it was down to Rocksteady not being bothered... I think it's a combination of technology & gameplay (design/direction). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I've ever seen an Unreal engine (3) open world game with tons of NPCs & dynamic day/night, etc etc. At least not on the PS3/360 generation... That and Arkham City & Asylum are both locations that inherently exclude regular citizens.
      With Arkham Knight, clearly the technology wasn't holding them back, but then you run into the problem that driving around in the death-mobile would be kinda weird (especially with all the destruction stuff) if you could run down regular people. It's already a big stretch that the game pretends you're merely "electrocuting" thugs if you run them over, but what would happen with normal citizens? And how would Batman interact with them? I think that's ultimately what Rocksteady was always struggling with, especially because Batman is a no kill character.
      Not saying it's impossible, but with things like Spider-Man (never played it bc I don't have a PS, but from what I've seen) you don't use vehicles & navigation is entirely by webswinging, so there's no way to "hurt" normal citizens.
      I'm curious to see how Gotham Knights deals with it because you can still drive around with these new bikes, so technically you could run people over.

      Can't remember the game but there was an open world game where if you tried to run over NPC's your car would break or they would jump out of the way. Might be LA Noir not 100%, i guess GK will have something like that?

that was pretty much the sentiment when Avengers came out lol. There is just no hype for Gotham Knights because it screams mediocre mess. Compare this to the excitement Spider-Man or Arkham Knight had before release.
Never ever am I going to pay 70 bucks for such an already underwhelming game.

  Guardians of the Galaxy also got a lot of negatively pre-release but that ended up being one of the best games last year. Honestly i don't know why people are comparing GK to Avengers, other them co-op and both having loot they aren't much alike plus Avengers problems were endless bugs and lack of good content once the campaign is done problems GK seems to lack by previews.
