It seems that Idris Elba may be heading back to DC for an upcoming project.
While promoting his new film Beast, reporter Erik Davis asked Elba about if we would see him in a Marvel or DC project next. Elba replied that "he's got a really big thing cooking for DC right now."
We would note that while a reprisal of his role as Bloodsport certainly isn't off the table, Dwayne Johnson just voiced Krypto and will play Black Adam in the same year. There is always a chance that Elba could be working on an animated project that would see him playing a different character.
That disclaimer out of the way, James Gunn also has multiple projects in the works with Warner Bros. Discovery at the moment. Peacemaker season 2 is confirmed, and he is developing an Amanda Waller series as well. A series based on Bloodsport certainly doesn't seem out of the realm of probability.
When we'll hear more on this project is anyone's guess, but lets keep our fingers crossed it's sooner rather than later.
