      What does that remotely have to do with it still being an utterly crap/non-existent Joker movie? Actual DC/Joker fans expected a Joker origin movie where he eventually ends up transforming into/remotely resembling the actual character by the end of the film, which factually *never happened*.

      I've genuinely never seen more troll-worthy idiocy than delusional geeks ranking this stair-dancing goof as "da best joker evur!!!!".     NGL, I’d rather see a Batman movie that examines the character through the same lens of mental illness, class struggle, and mundane struggle that was applied to Joker in the first one, and then a sequel that pits the two together.

    I pretty much agree with that. Rename the Wayne character and Arkham and it loses any connection with the Batman villain. Movie could have been called 'clown' or 'jester' just as easily.

       Thank you for being one of the rare few regulars here who actually know the slightest thing about these DC characters and films. I honestly feel like i'm living in bizarro world when constantly seeing the majority online opinion (AKA the vocal minority of braindead sheep neckbeards) laughably praising character-ruining incoherent crap such as Serial Killer Batman, Mopey Neck-Snapping Superman and Crybaby Man-Child Joker.

       "Joker" was a by generic, pretentious indy film about an abused weirdo who put on clown make-up for 20 minutes at the end while not acting anything like DC's The Joker character at any point whatsoever. End of story.

          Hey you're welcome, but honestly I'm just a fan...problem is previous owner of this site turned this site into a haven for fans of Snyder's crap takes, but slowly fans are taking back the community.

          I thought Joker was a competently made film, a hybrid of Taxi Driver and Kind of Comedy....but that's exactly what it was, and I don't think it needed to exist. It wasn't a new story or an original take, it was just combined 3 existing properties, albeit flawlessly. Joaquin's performance was great, but I would much rather he give an amazing performance for an original work instead.

    You summed it up to perfection.

    I went in expecting one of those Killing Joke style alternate origins for the character but we didn't even get that, because even by the end he was still the same doofus whiny man-baby he had been throughout the rest of the film, there was never any "epic transformation" moment where he was suddenly some sinister evil psychopath that would go on to be a genius crimelord, fight Batman, etc. The only way the movie/a sequel would ever make the slightest bit of sense is if they revealed *the actual Joker* was inspired by his killings on tv and took over the story from there, yet sadly I can't see that happening and it will likely be more of Phoenix's Crybaby Incel Joker dancing to Gary Glitter songs in an alley.

    Batman, was Robin first. Show Bruce as a teenager challenging the joker in a few scenes, as in the comic, would also show the jokers hatred for robin in the future. As the comic a death in the family series.
