Warner Bros. has announced that the animated The Batman series is heading to Blu-ray in an all-new remastered set.

The Batman ran for 65 episodes debuting in Sept. 2004 and concluding in March 2008. Up until now, it has only been available on DVD, but it's now heading to Blu-ray in a newly remastered set.

The main cast included Rino Romano (Spider-Man Unlimited, Curious George) heads the cast as the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Romano is joined by Evan Sabara (The Polar Express) as Dick Grayson/Robin, Danielle Judovits (Naruto: Shippûden) as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Kevin Michael Richardson (The Simpsons, American Dad!) as the Joker, Ming-Na Wen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Book of Boba Fett) as Detective Ellen Yin, Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) as The Penguin, Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption, Dexter: New Blood) as Mr. Freeze, Alastair Duncan (Batman: The Long Halloween) as Alfred, Gina Gershon (Riverdale, Showgirls) as Catwoman, Jason Marsden (Transformers: Rescue Bots, Young Justice) as Firefly, Steve Harris (The Practice) as Detective Ethan Bennett/Clayface, Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files) as Commissioner James Gordon, and Adam West (Batman) as Mayor Grange.

The set will also include all-new bonus material:

  • The Dark Dynasty Continues (New Featurette) – Explore the relationship between The Batman and his allies as he evolves from mysterious vigilante to the World’s Greatest Detective.
  • Joining Forces: The Batman's Legendary Team-Ups (Featurette) – How the series’ producers adapted the DC “Team-Up-Tales” approach from the comic books to the screen.

  • The Batman Junior Detective Exam: Level 2 (Quiz) – Pass The Batman test of knowledge with the level 2 exam.
  • Building Batman (Featurette) – Detective Ellen Yin investigates The Batman's true identity.
  • Gotham PD Case Files (Featurette) – Highly confidential profiles of The Batman's most dastardly foes.
  • New Look, New Direction, New Knight (Featurette) – Go behind the scenes to explore the development of The Batman television series.
  • The Batman: Season 3 Unmasked (Featurette) – Supervising Producer Duane Capizzi talks about the animated series.
  • The Batman: Season 4 Unmasked (Featurette) – A behind the scenes look into the making of Season 4.

The Batman: The Complete Series will hit Blu-ray+Digital ($69.99 SRP) in the United States, and a Blu-ray only package ($79.98 SRP) in Canada, on Feb. 1, 2022.

    I wasn't a huge fan of the weird choices this show made with the Bat-Villains, but it had one of the better animated interpretations of Batgirl and Robin (possibly even better than Young Justice)

    Didn't like this show, it had some moments but overall i just wasn't a fan.

      Same here. If anything Beware the Batman was better but I didn't like that that much either. Kind of weird they are not doing a better job with the cartoons for these characters, but at least Caped Crusader is coming soon.

        'Beware the Batman' was definitely worse.
        Mostly because of the visuals (it had the emptiest, greyest Gotham city ever), but also the writing wasn't that great.

          I'd agree on the visuals, but not the writing. It had some compelling stories and the characters felt dynamic and were moving forward as the season went on. It doesn't get credited enough as the first serialized Batman cartoon.

            It took a few episodes to get used to the animation style, but I loved the show, considering it didn't have the heavy hitting villains that other Batman shows had.

          I dunno if it was worse, they had some interesting ideas - The Batman had really weird takes on villains and was more childish than it needed to be.

        I hope that both Caped Crusader and X-Men 1997 lean more adult since they are on streaming services, aren’t beholden to the primary function of selling toys, have a large audience of adults who grew up in 90’s, etc…. I would equate them to final season of Samurai Jack which instead of him only fighting robots, he’s killing people and creatures, showing blood, making sexual innuendos, and just generally appearing to age along with its audience, since it took 12 years off before making the final season.

          I was never into X-Men or Samurai Jack, but I agree it would be great if CC was more adult - but they need to do it in a way that also would keep it watchable for kids IMO.

            Samurai Jack borrows a lot from Bruce Wayne, King Arthur, and Lord of the Rings. Since I’m a huge fan of all 3, it was a show I definitely enjoyed. And X-Men got me into comic books as a kid, and the first 4 seasons hold up just as well as BtAS imo, but that’s probably because how influential both were to my childhood.

            My brother watched X-Men when I was a kid but I had no idea who the bald guy floating in a chair was while other people did wacky shit to each other lol. I liked the 90s Spider-man cartoon though. I'd watch SJ, just been busy as of late. Speaking of which, I'm finally, FINALLY working on finish my site again. Switching jobs and apartments and getting a dog so it's been full on.

            Oh yeah I loved Spider-Man too. Been rewatching some choice episodes on Disney + lately.

            Excellent to hear about your site coming back. I totally understand how life can get in the way at times, but I think it’s really cool that you are continuing your passion for it.

            On another note, I just watched episode 8 of Doom Patrol and Brendan Fraser is HUGE!! Is he really gonna play Firefly as a TubZy WubZy or do you think he drops the necessary 100+ Lbs to be believable as the character?

            Yeah BF was big, but he probably wasn't prepared for an on screen appearance. Plus it kind of fits his character honestly. I hope he gets in shape and I think he will, he's had a really rough time with his injuries but seems to be making a comeback and I think getting in shape is part of that.

          I am cautious about these remakes, revivals, spiritual successors, etc. Especially since I heard Bruce Timm say the word "diversity".

      Don't worry its a WB release so its region free, if you want it just import it using Amazon or Ebay.

    I was pretty hard on this show before when it first came out. I didn't like the funky designs of the badguys, it felt a bit too light at times ( people used nerf lazers instead of actual guns), and it was wierd that Joker and Penguin knew Kung Fu. But I've really come to respect the cooler aspects of the show and it did really come together by the end of it. Good fight choreography, a very slick ninja like Batman and interpretations of the characters that were ultimately true to what fans loved. I'd buy this on dvd.

    I was never interested in this when it came out due to the style. I just didn't like the designs but i have it a chance recently and it's much better than what I expected. Beware The Batman as well.

    Good news. I think this was the last of the modern Batman shows that needed a Blu-Ray release, so I'm glad it finally got it.

    I’ve always held that this show is really underrated. Certainly not always as excellent of writing as the DCAU, but it had a younger target audience, so it is what it is. But the animation is so slick (for real), the character designs pretty much all super cool and unique (honestly one of my favorite Mr. Freeze and Joker looks, tbh, to name just a couple highlights), and the voice cast all really solid (one of my favorite Alfreds, Joker’s voice actor is an unexpected choice but a great one, Batman is just right). And I love the Jackie Chan Adventures art style with these characters and world. Plus, there were even some surprisingly great and mature stories sometimes, too, like the season 1 finale or the Dracula movie

      I was always particularly fond of Fireflys look here. Which seems to be the case as it carried over to the Lego Games. Also the Kabuki Twins

        Yes he looked really sharp. And the Kabuki twins have always fascinated me haha. They really did a lot of interesting and creative stuff with the show. Other original characters besides the Kabuki twins that I think definitely deserve respect are Ethan Bennett and Ellen Yin

          Yes I loved Yin, I've seen fan art of her as Batwoman which would have been cool. I think the VA wanted to do other things
