Shazam: Fury of the Gods video shows the sequel is going big

Shazam: Fury of the Gods is now in post-production, and a first look was shown at DC FanDome.

The video introduces us to the villains played by Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu and shows us a lot of the new locations the series will be heading to including the Library of Eternity and the Hall of the Gods. And it looks as though a lot of mythical beasts will also be making their way into the story.

We're still a long ways off from the film releasing, but at least we've received an early taste of the film.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods release is set for June 2, 2023.

"Superhero Mary" instead of "Mary Marvel"?!
so no matter how awkward it's going to be they will avoid mentioning the name 'Marvel', wont they?!
what's Freddy's Superhero name?! 'Shazam Jr'?!

Also, did they run out of interesting Captain Marvel villains and now just have them fight Greek Mythology creatures and gods? is this a reworked 'Percy Jackson' script?

Sit tight. I'm sure there will be more at play in terms of villains - and even still, what we've seen does make sense. I'm grateful we're finally seeing stuff like that in superhero films, actually. I've been missing these greater mythological aspects, particularly in Shazam 1 and the Wonder Woman films.
We know Mister Mind was teased last time, so I would say wait and see. I don't think one teaser is going to show us all that stuff. I also doubt. Dr. Sivana is done with us. Black Adam is likely to get a tease too.

Not sure how this is gonna fit canonically with what was established in Wonder Woman… unless Shazam is actually in its own universe that just LOOKS like the DCEU…

    Perhaps it's more complicated than that, and the old gods dying wasn't exactly all-encompassing (I mean, we did have Ares). I'm willing to see what they do before I worry, but that is a good point.
    I wonder if Black Adam will explore the old gods...

      I feel highly confident that BA will explore it with the trailer and what DC has done so far. Marvel has Eternals and Celestials and whatever else, DC has old gods, New Gods, and keeps a connect to the Greek Gods as an extension of their mythology. I think Black Adam and Shazam are going to blend beautifully - two worlds joined like Siamese twins.
