The second The Batman trailer is now avaialble!

Matt Reeves has shared a new photo from the upcoming second The Batman trailer and promises more at DC FanDome.

Getting everyone ready for DC FanDome on Saturday, director Matt Reeves has teased everyone with an image from the new The Batman trailer.

"Good Morning, from Gotham City… Can’t wait to show you more at #DCFanDome this Saturday… #TheBatman #TrailerShot," Reeves said in his tweet.

This was the second tease of the day for the upcoming trailer as a short video had been released earlier in the day featuring the Bat Signal.

DC FanDome will be taking place on Saturday beginning at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific and is reported to be four hours in length. The event will feature announcements and updates from all across DC-related properties. The guest list is pretty extensive and is sure to keep us entertained throughout the day.

The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.

      Keaton, Bale, and Affleck. While all of them killed in some way or another (just like Golden Age Batman, Post-Crisis Batman, DCAU Batman, and so on), only one actively, deliberately, and directly killed of those three, and that was Keaton.

      This has been explained to you numerous times, but maybe this time it will sink in.
      Keaton was modeled after the Golden Age Batman who did kill. From the start it was an interpretation that always killed. I still absolutely hate that, but it's valid as an alt interpretation as opposed to being a poorly thought out decision with a hasty excuse of 'deconstruction' used to attempt to justify it.
      Bale killed as an absolute last resort, when he killed Harvey the intent was not to kill, when he killed Talia it was to stop what was basically NYC from being nuked.
      Post-crisis batman has not killed that I'm aware of, and since you don't read comics or know the character I assume you are just making that up. DCAU Batman has not killed that I am aware of, but it's possible I'm forgetting something. Even so, none of these examples compare to Batfleck.
      The difference is Batfleck killed as a *first resort*. He did so as a reflex, without thinking. He mowed down numerous criminals simply because it was convenient, and he never even considered attempting a different approach that wouldn't have had casualties (especially since he had a tracker on the Lex truck there was no need for the deadly chase at all).
      You're an utter tool, Ninja. You know everything I've said is correct, but you go out of your way to be disingenuous to try and act like Batfleck mowing down criminals was justified. His body count is more than all of Bales and Burton's combined.

      So I guess everyone has their own interpretations and therefor different numbers, but as I’ve watched every film a few dozen times(except Rises which I loath, 6 times), I feel pretty confident in my numbers.
      I have Keaton’s basement at 17 and his ceiling around 24. Depends on how many were in Axis Chemicals during Batmobile bombing and whether those large caliber machine guns on the Batwing maimed or outright killed during parade battle.
      Kilmer I have in the 8-10 range, but Two-Face is the only one he actively kills. The other deaths were mostly just a result of Batman diverting kill attacks on himself to others.
      I have zero for Clooney and West.
      Bale I have only 4 kills inside the costume but a minimum 30 kills in Ra’s Mountain Stronghold, including the same criminal he refuses to behead in said scene. Since this was before he was Batman and an untenable situation, I do not begrudge him at all. I also think he got extremely lucky in his chase scenes not to kill any cops or bystanders. He was pretty reckless with his vehicles and weaponry. And imagine if any of those bats had the corona virus in Begins...
      And finally my favorite Batman, Affleck, I have at 10 kills, but I totally understand how others can see more. Someone could argue his ceiling is north of two dozen. I just count 10 that I can definitively say, “That guy is dead.” Plenty of dudes in traction and quite likely brain damage and/or partial paralysis. All 10 kills (and the severe assaults) are against genocidal mercenaries who slaughtered a village, delved in human trafficking, and were preparing to barbecue a woman alive. Not exactly street level thugs or bank heist teams. They also were shooting military grade weaponry directly at him.
      But you are 100% correct about the Batmobile scene. He had the tracker, so the chase was pointless despite thinning out the mercenary numbers or taking out some PTSD aggression. He’s also lucky he didn’t knock that tracker off when he barreled into the truck. He also kills several dozen Parademons, the most by far by any JL member, but I see no problem in that.
      Just my take on the kill counts. I totally understand if others view it differently. But I got Keaton very likely doubling Affleck’s numbers, and Bale easily tripling them.
      On another note, I can’t wait for your site to be up again. Commenting here is so frustrating for me. I literally had to write this in an email draft and copy paste it because the site kept refreshing and kicking my comment off.

      The way I see it, it's not really a subjective thing. I mean, I know what you mean, people have different methodologies, different criteria to establish if someone is really dead or not, if it was a murder or not, etc. But I think you would have to come up with an especially generous methodology to find a way for Batfleck to not be in the lead for kills.
      I haven't re-watched the pre-Nolan movies in quite some time (It's so funny how after years and years of me complaining about batman killing certain people bring up Keaton every single time, as though I haven't repeatedly said I dislike that also), but I'll trust your judgement. Because I don't think it affects my point or argument at all. I very much dislike Burton's Batman for a number of reasons (forget killing, that he killed the Joker on his first outing is a even bigger gripe for me), but this version always killed from the start. It was never supposed to be a comic book counterpart that "lost his way".

      He gets responsibility for every kill during the chase, because the chase was unnecessary (I typed this before I completely read your reply, I see you pretty much agree). Batman is meant to be a master of stealth. He knew where the target was. Why wouldn't he infiltrate later on in a way that ensured no causalities? Almost the same with the warehouse scene. It's like he wanted to kill. And he kills more people in one movie than Bale does in 3.
      I think parademons from the comics, with the most recent explanation, is that they are not really 'alive', so I have no problem with him killing them either.
      What do you think of the kills in the video? Which ones do you disagree with?

I have very strict adblocking rules and filters in place and it's still garbage. Performance aside, I hope the community I build will have a higher standard and level of quality discussion. This site went really downhill when the Snyder folk came in and started causing chaos. There's like 5 people I respect here which is why I came back to engage, but mostly it's just bunk these days.

The ScreenRant article I posted below actually identified the exact same 10 kills I have always held in my mind as kills. Totally random and I swear I never read that article before my comment.       With 1-6, we see a car with people in it, land on another car and flatten it. Surely the two people that got flattened didn't make it? It's not like someone called an ambulance. With 9 we see the Batmobile pretty clearly land on top of the guy at the back of the truck and get flattened. How could those 3 people of survived?
      And 19, he clearly pulled the trigger knowing what would happen. How is that not a kill he gets credit for?

In other comments back in the day I worked out the math, and even assuming the crate was empty, with how much it weighed and the speed it was going, I'm certain that guy died. If he didn't, again, no ambulance ever came before he bled out.

      Batfleck intends to kill with his kills. He does the chase when he knows (or just hopes?) it will result it casualties, he pulls the trigger on KGBeast, etc etc.
      Bale *never* intends to kill, the only exception being to stop a nuke. Comic Batman would have done some insane shit to avoid killing and save the day, but Bale being more grounded couldn't do something like that.
      In Nolan's films, in TDK specifically, Batman refusing to kill is a focal point of the film.
      While Snyder had Superman snap a neck in his first film, and then insulted fans that were upset that he would have Batman kill.
      Pretty clear distinctions IMO.

      Actually the box attack might not necessarily mean death either. I used to think it looked pretty bad in the UE, too, before I saw pretty much the exact same thing done to the Atlantean guard in that one Steppenwolf scene in ZSJL, only for Step to continue interrogating him afterward. Since then it seems to me like a gory visual Snyder goes for but which clearly is not meant to indicate a kill necessarily.

      He literally flipped an 18 wheeler at an extremely high speed. There is no way that the people in the container( and there were shown to be atleast 3) are not dead.

      He also flattened a police car by driving over it with his tumbler, and the innocent cops with in miraculously survived; flipped police cars with explosives, and they miraculously survived, too; and he crushed the passenger section of some truck and dragged it along the underside of an overpass. The thing is, these are action movies. It’s really as simple as that. And in the Arkham games he literally shoots missiles at cars and nothing happens to the criminals inside. People survive those kinds of things and MUCH worse (like sometimes to a mind-blowing degree) in the comics and cartoons, too. This is all really old hat for Batman, in other words, but for some reason people only notice it in BvS

      If people are going to apply real world logic to these "kills" that were never explicitly shown to be kills in the movie. Then they should do the same for other Batmen.
      Because there are a lot of things Bale does that would result in the death of people.

      I don't think anything that Batfleck has done can top that.
      And I think Bale has more kills in the suit then just 4.
      In Batman Begins. At the end. When he's fighting Ra's men on the train platform. He throws 2 men down from the platform that is of considerable height. Meaning they are probably dead.
      He directly leads to Ra's death.
      In TDK. He crushes the Garbage truck driver in the tunnel scene.
      He also flips an 18 wheeler at a very high speed. And we were already shown that that there were atleast 3 people in the container in the back. Who are probably dead.
      Then he pushes Harvey Dent to his death.
      In TDKR. He kills both Talia and her truck driver.
      So that's about 9 to 10 people as Batman.
      And I know this sounds like nitpicking. But that's how a lot people count Batfkecks kills too.

      Its been a while since i read it as well but if remember right Darkseid was already dying, Bats just fired the bullet to make it final with Barry and the others making sure it happens. Again its been a while so i'm hazy and the story is so dense but yeah this "Batman killed Darkseid" thing people like to use as evidence is not really accurate, Batman played a main important role sure but its no where the same as what Keaton, Batfleck or even Bale do. There's a lot more to it then just Batman's role and yes Barry, Superman and events before the story all play a role what leads to his death.

      Yep. That literally, by definition, counts as bending or even outright breaking a strict no-killing rule. Vertigo does die, watch the episode again, the intent is clear, so that counts as an indirect kill. And brain damage isn’t headcanon, it’s basic medical fact, and certainly no more excessively literal of a standard than those who accuse Batfleck of being a serial killer apply to BvS. I personally don’t count it necessarily, since that usually seems to be covered by the magical rules of action-oriented fiction, but that’s why I said it’s “arguable”

      When the movie itself, the movies in continuity with it, other tangentially related media like it, and the creatives themselves in behind-the-scenes comments all unanimously contradict the claims people like Jingo are making about said movie, I’m not sure what else could possibly qualify as “refuted,” and so it is obviously difficult to just “let go” when an untrue narrative is being persistently and loudly propagating across the internet for years that is used to fuel regular attacks on and defamation of people who are lifelong students of this fictional property as mere idiots and non-fans - that stuff is most definitely sad and hateful, like you said, especially when coupled with the amount of threats, lies, insults, and vitriol Jingo spews nonstop on myself and others… But either way, I wholeheartedly agree that the endless fight is beyond tiring.       Well the argument could definitely be made that Batman’s detective nature is MORE core to the character than the no-killing rule, considering only one of those things have existed since his inception, and that was being a detective, not abstaining from killing.
      But I DO value a no-killing policy for a cinematic Batman, that’s one of the reasons Keaton’s Batman has always rubbed me the wrong way. I just recognize that, given the long history of the many different takes on the character as well as the nature of the mediums in question, there’s undeniably room for variation in what said rule might look like, specifically, and how it might apply in various circumstances, as has often been the case since 1939.

      I don't see how one could possibly differentiate between the two when it comes to killing, considering both of them have killed the same number of people across the 2 movies they appeared in.
      And if anyone's the mass murderer of the two it's Keaton. Batfleck atleast has a narrative reason for starting killing, only kills when he is outnumbered and abandons his whole killing thing by the end of the first movie.

      In this scene The Batmobile covers itself in a shield( I wonder why) and then drops a bomb while surrounded by gunmen and then it immediately cuts to a huge explosion.
      Those guys around the car are dead beyond a shadow of a doubt.
      And even when Batmobile is escaping( and at a speed a normal man cannot, I might add) the whole factory is on fire and we don't see one guy escaping or outside the factory.
      And even then it obvious that with a fire like that not everyone in the factory could have escaped.
      And if you still argue these kills because we don't explicitly see people die on screen, then as I said, you also can't count more then half of Batfleck's kills because we either don't see people die or they don't die from his actions.

      I understand people who argue Bale's kills as circumstantial. Even though his Batman also directly kills people on few occasions. The garbage truck driver in TDK and Talia and her truck driver in TDKR.
      But I will never understand the people who argue that Keatons Batman doesn't kill or is somehiw less violent then Batfkeck when his Batman is shown on multiple occasions to so blatantly and sometimes brutally kill people without a hint of guilt or hesitation.
      Anyone who claims Keaton's Batman as a good Batman and then denounces Batfkeck because he kills, is just a monument of hypocrisy to me.

Rush hour traffic starts real early in Gotham I guess.... I assumed that was Sunset, which would better explain the line of traffic. But if he says it’s morning, I guess it’s morning. Maybe get a better cowl and get rid of that collar and you got yourself a great wall paper. Can’t wait for Saturday! I hope we get lots of Pattinson in the costume and teases of action sequences to get us fans who are worried about the esthetics and action even more excited. The tone and detective aspect already has us hyped for the story and feel. But character representation and action matter as well.

I think the last time was BvS for me... still remember the first time I watched that Comic Con BvS trailer, being absolutely blown away, thinking it'd be the greatest movie ever. Yeah, lol. Then came the movie.
Haven't really been all that excited about trailers in recent years. Heck, sometimes I actively avoid them. Didn't see a single trailer for Dune... didn't even know what it was about... I liked it that way. Really enjoyed the movie regardless.
That said, there's absolutely no way that I'm avoiding these Batman trailers, haha

      I took it down without announcement, it was only meant to be for a week but then...life happened.
      I never wanted to stick with WordPress (it's garbage, part of why this site is so bad), but writing articles and keeping up with news was more work than I anticipated. Not so much I can't keep up with it, but it was a losing race to try and finish developing the site and stay current with news. In fact, I don't know that it will be perfect by Saturday, but it should be 'good enough' that I can make it public and continue to finetune it for the next few days afterwards.
      I should have a chatroom setup as well...not sure it will be active but it should be a much better experience than using Disqus with hundreds and hundreds of comments.

  Yes Batcave and Batmobile and Batcycle and Bat-signal, first look at Alfred, Riddler, Selina (no mask), Penguin, etc. It’s pretty exciting, and definitely one of the most elaborate promotional tie-in sets we’ve ever gotten for one of the live-action theatrical releases

    Yeah I see Serkis has a beard in this. Riddler looks kinda weird with Zodiac mask but his hair on top. Also not sure how I feel about train station as Batcave. Reminds me of Blankman and TMNT 2.

      It could just be 'a' cave not 'the' cave. They might be saving the actual cave reveal.

      Yeah, I’m intrigued to see how Serkis will look as Alfred. I still can’t really picture it in my head yet. And I’m waiting for more context about the Batcave (it is a nice looking LEGO set, though). But Riddler is the one I’ve really been thinking the most about…
      First thought is I’m glad it’s not duct tape on his face after all, lol, which it sort of looked like in the trailer. Some kind of military heat mask thing, can’t remember the name. But yeah, it’s definitely far from what I would have done to depict the character in this kind of movie.
      However, I have had some positive thoughts about it: I think the general idea of obscuring his face in some way is a solid one, as it fits with a character who is all about riddles and was literally called “E. Nigma” (though I probably would’ve done it more like how Arkham Origins did it, for example, tbh); I like that the mask he’s wearing does still leave his head exposed and is technically only covering his face, because in that way it could sort of be seen perhaps as vaguely the same as what the classic domino mask is in the comics, at least functionally speaking; and I think I like that the glasses are incorporated into it as well, as again arguably that might be vaguely reminiscent of the domino mask, or at the very least it can represent the “nerdy” aspect of the character in some way.
      But yeah, it’s definitely odd to go for such a utilitarian and hands-on sort of look for a character that is typically more cerebral and sophisticated, but perhaps that will be more justified in the story of the movie.

      Dano is such a good actor, and the route they are going looks pretty great for the character so far. But yeah, I’m not big on the esthetics for him and Bat and Cat. Trailer could change my mind though.

This movies feels like the stars have aligned for both the talent in front and behind the camera. Could be one of the all time great comic book movies.

This shot is absolutely beautiful.
Makes me more confident that Matt Reeves is going to deliver one of the most gorgeous looking Superhero movie in recent memory.( Also the fact that it has the cinematographer of Dune doesn't hurt).

One thing that I will say that is not related to the article. I had really hoped that now, 6 months after the release of ZSJL, on an article about The Batman we would all be having a discussion about The Batman.
The fact that people still feel the need to bring up either Snyder or his films, leading to long winded arguments rife with accusations and insults that completely derail the topic at hand and takes away a lot of the fun, is very disappointing. I had hoped we were past all of this.
