DC FanDome returning with a 2021 edition in Oct.

DC has announced that DC FanDome is coming back for another round with a new event taking place on Oct. 16, 2021.

Speculation can finally come to an end as DC has made it official and announced a 2021 edition of its fan event, DC FanDome. The company shared a short announcement video on Wednesday.

The first DC FanDome was split over two events and shared a lot of panels that you would have normally enjoyed at an event such as San Diego Comic-Con. While it may have been a product of the pandemic gripping the world throughout 2020, it's not too surprising that companies may have found it more beneficial to run virtual, brand-specific events such as this.

No word as of yet as to what sort of events or panels we can expect from DC FanDome 2021, but we're sure information will be coming out over the next six months.

This could be interesting, but I mean....what do they have to promote? By October I don't think there will be any new trailers...TSS will have been done, Shazam won't be close to having a trailer...maybe another The Batman trailer, could be cool.

I just wouldn't think they have enough content to justify another event this year. Then again, much of the last event was filler, so...

Batman had only been filming for a few months before that first trailer. And like you said they'll probably have a 2nd one for that. Other than those it's probably just announcements for things that will never happen, maybe some more info on the HBO max GL show and gotham PD. As well as animated stuff and new trailers/gameplay for the 2 big games

    They put together a motion-comic-ish trailer for last year, even if it's just a teaser I feel like The Rock is going to want to show off something. He's not going to have to use much CG so could just be an official look at him in action for a second

      Some people thought they might do an Injustice vs MK because in MK11 they made references to Injustice, but I hope they don't. I can't stand using a block button over back to block. What I think would be cool would be a Marvel vs DC vs MK, get all 3 franchises duking it out. Imagine a tag team of Superman and Raiden vs Spider-man and Goro.

    The rumour right now is NRS aren't doing Injustice 3 just yet and instead are working on a Marvel fighting game instead, while the DC fan in me would prefer a Injustice 3 i can't help but get excited at the thought of a Marvel fighting game from NRS. Never happen but a DC Vs Marvel game would be the cherry on the cake.

      Yup I saw that rumor as well. I think it's kind of odd for them to segue like that, not that they are dealing with a Marvel property but that they would ignore the demand for Injustice 3 before doing it. I'm really not a Marvel fan at all outside of the movies so wouldn't feel that excited for an NRS Marvel game, but if they made a DC vs Marvel game that would indeed be cool and I would play the shit out of that.

      I think Ed Boon and NRS have long wanted to do a Marvel game so giving the choice i can imagine they would pick Marvel. Also maybe they don't want to be locked into a patten of Mortal Kombat, Injustice, MK, Injustice and so on, doing Marvel gives them a chance to work on a new franchise.
      Personally my dream game from them would be all the action and horror pop culture characters crossing over. Would be a licensing hell but having Predator, Alien, Jason, Freddy, Leatherface, The Terminator, Spawn, Robocop, Rambo and so on all in one game would be amazing.

      True I know they have been hinting at that for a long time. I think with MK11 they already broke their normal pattern, so I guess anything is possible now. And yeah plenty of people have wanted the horror game, they already have enough characters with all their DLCs, they would just need to get the licenses again. Could be fun. There is talk of them adding Michael Myers and Ash to MK11 at some point also.

      Well, Lego game is not direct competition to Injustice or Arkham. From the info, WB published the game for PS3, Xbox, etc.... They didn't develop the game, it's done by Traveller's Tales.

      and WB own TT and still published it. Honesty if it brings them money i don't think they care, Marvel/Disney don't make the games themselves and license out the IP so maybe they wanted a fighting game and asked WB if they are interested. Got to remember in the gaming world there's no real competition like there is film, there's no MCU or DCEU competing and Marvel get other Pubs/Devs to make the games so WB doing one is no different to Square Enix doing one.

      Ah, TT is part of wb. Their client was Lego though who licensed Marvel characters. That Avengers game was a disaster for Disney and they do need help. They shut down their own game studio a few years ago.

      Of course NRS would do it. It doesn't matter that they are owned by WB, they are a separate company and always looking to gain money. No reason they wouldn't take a contract and make a Marvel game. Plenty of companies have their subsidiaries do business with the parent companies competition. It's just business.

  5 movies slated for 2022: Batman, Super Pets (animated), Black Adam, Flash, Aquaman 2. Plus Shazam 2 in early 2023, plus the stuff in early development like Batgirl and Zatanna. We also don't know the HBO Max release schedule for any of their stuff (Titans, Doom Patrol, GL, Strange Adventures, JL Dark?) so some of that might have footage by October. Plus the CW shows, games, and actual comics (one of the biggest bits of news out of Fandome 1 was the return of Milestone). I think there will be more than enough to keep me in a chair for 8 hours.

      Don't you think passionate fans would be consistent in their opinions, and have conviction for them? Ninja flip flops depending on external factors regardless of the quality of the film. Example, he loved 2017 JL until it was clear Snyder denounced it. That aside, I don't get on well with people that are intellectually dishonest, such as using 'big' words out of place to try and seem smart. It reminds me of myself at 16, but thankfully I grew out of it. He doesn't seem like he ever will.

      It was interesting going back and looking at all those old comments to find that again. Lot of people loved it at first. I was underwhelmed, clearly, and my upvotes reflect the mixed feelings I had as well. The one unifying thing about almost all of it from me however was consistently the thought that it wasn’t Zack’s movie or that it was the studio cut and I wanted to see the rest to truly judge.
      Even now my thoughts haven’t changed much. I hate it out of principle, because of everything I’ve come to know about it now, more and more of course, but that’s the same as everyone else, too. Still better in a lot of ways than SS, though.

      Well that clears up the accusations against you that you changed your words.
      Some of the complaints you had with ZSJL seem to be the same ones you had with JL theatrical cut. Namely Supermans resurrection.
      Honestly I find this entire accusation that Snyder fans were defending JL TC out of some misplaced loyalty to Snyder ridiculous.
      Especially when a petition to release the Snyder Cut was started the same month(Nov, 2017) and had more then 32 thousand signs.
      The only people I remember liking the film were the ones that had a problem with Snyder's style. They often praised the lighter tone of the film and the jokes and said that "Joss saved JL".
      And now that ZSJL is out, they are the only ones I see changing their stances.

      Yeah, though I will say upon reflection with ZSJL, a lot of the problems I had surrounding Superman's return were lessened or outright erased due to how it was handled slightly differently in that. I do think, despite bringing him back and him going evil at first, they managed to achieve that big inspiring moment where he comes and saves the day in the League's darkest hour much more closely in ZSJL - I really felt that and was hollering when the axe landed on his shoulder. I also even feel like the evil resurrection was more justified now without his talking (because that cheapened his true return a bit before) and with the warnings about the Mother Box and implication that his resurrection would lead to the Knightmare future; it read to me this time like the Mother Box deliberately was trying to make those events occur, and so that's why he was brought back the way he was; it had messed with his mind. Also the whole process no longer felt rushed or unearned as it did in the theatrical. Still not 100% on how I feel about the manner they brought him back to begin with, but its was definitely handled better in ZSJL than theatrical. And I actually had some of my criticisms alleviated by talking to Seb about it, interestingly enough, haha, like about the Codex and such.

      And I agree that ZSJL definitely made the Syperman resurrection scene better.
      I never really had a problem with that scene. It was one of the few scenes I actually liked from the film. (Not surprising that most of it was from Snyder).
      My only complaints were that the color grading was very off. Everything looked cartoony.
      The scene was over too quickly and had no wieght.
      Batman was a manhandled chump.
      And Supermans close up CGI lip "Do you bleed".
      ZSJL solved most of them.
      The color grading was good.
      The scene was longer with more action and Supermans resurrection seemed impactful due to the ominous visions and warnings.
      Batman actually managed to defend himself with Anti-laser gauntlets.
      And there was no CGI lip Superman or cringy dialogues.

      Very true to all your points. I actually liked the idea of Superman throwing that line back at Batman, but the story works better without him talking at all, and certainly the execution with the weird lip and the "dew yew breedd" delivery didn't do it any favors

      It's one of the reasons I blocked. He and I had a nice thing going, where I ignored him and he ignored me.
      But then he started to bad mouth me and misrepresent me to other people. And when I retaliated by defending myself and exposing his lies, he went back to his old ways and started stalking me and leaving long incoherently rants.       Damn son, you're as blind as ninja is, or as dishonest. Ninja loved the film, even claimed it made him giddy like a schoolboy, because up until just after he saw it he was convinced it was Snyder's film through and through, and he was passionately arguing with people pointing out it wasn't.
      Then it became clear that Zack didn't endorse the 2017 cut, and suddenly he thought it was terrible. Utter trash. Everything about it was bad and it was all Whedon's fault.
      Then JLUE came out and all the stuff he blamed Whedon for was mostly Zack, so suddenly it was good again. Poor kid is having an identity crisis.

      That's a great point actually. The Snyder Cut doesn't need to be successful for fans to enjoy it. It only needed to exist, which it obviously does, to please the fans. I have no clue why the Snyderbots are so desperate for the movie to be such a financial success though... I guess in their minds, it would legitimize the idea that WB should pursue the Snyderverse and that it has a massive fanbase, even though it obviously doesn't.

      There is enough of a fan base to justify the existence of the Snyder Cut, but there is not enough of a fan base to justify a continuation. I wasn’t looking or wanting the Snyder Cut to be the beginning of a new trilogy, I was always expecting it to be the ending of the existing trilogy. I just wanted the conclusion to the story that started with Man of Steel. I am more than satisfied with the trilogy we got and I have a lot of gratitude towards WB/HBO Max for letting it happen. I will never harass them to Restore the Snyderverse and I will never call them derogatory names for ending the Snyderverse either. The battle has been won and the Snyder Cut exists, so instead of wasting time and energy on campaigning for more, I’m just going to enjoy the trilogy Snyder, WB, and HBO Max made for us Snyder fans.

      I’m talking about a Snyder led Justice League. Ninja, you know me and you know I want a Part II and III from Snyder, but we both know that not a lot of people do. It’s not fair or right to continue to take a franchise like the DCEU in a direction the majority of DC fans don’t want to see. There are so many more stories to tell and us Snyder fans can’t be selfish when we’ve had the last eight years to enjoy the Snyderverse. It’s time for a change.
      I think they could have continued the JL story with another director like Jenkins or Wan, but WB already chose to go another route. My personal opinion is they still should have released the Snyder cut back in 2017 and used it as a springboard for future films. Future films with or without Snyder direction, depending on how successful the film would have been if it was released in it’s original form. The ending of the film is a perfect setup for solo films with all the heroes going in different directions. Each character could have had a solo film and than do another team-up film, but like I said before WB has already started going in a different direction.

      I want any followup to ZSJL at all, from any director. I'll take anything at this point. But this whole DCEU plan that is only going to focus on C-listers and alternate PC versions of main heroes, with no Superman, Batman, JL, Darkseid, etc. in sight, is not something I can support for a shared DCU. That's why I support restoring the Snyderverse, because that looks to be the only way of getting those things realized, and thus justifying this universe's existence at all.
      But anyway, I disagree with the notion that "not a lot of people do" want a Snyder-directed one specifically in the first place. The way ZSJL and RestoreTheSnyderVerse trended after its release prove beyond any doubt at this point that it is the general consensus that people want more of that. It was not just Snyder fans tweeting that stuff that day, there were countless verified checkmarks from sports to entertainment, including critics and actors and news outlets like IGN and just randoms, all in support of it, come out of nowhere. This has expanded beyond the bubble for sure. I'm seeing it all over YouTube now, too, even, in ways I never did before.
      You're right about what should have happened, but now we can only deal with what is going to happen, and I refuse to accept their current non-plan, nor can I see how any DC fan would, under any circumstances, even if the Snyderverse issue wasn't on the table at all. This is not a Snyder issue in my mind, it's just an issue of whether we, the fans in their totality, want a coherent shared universe or not, and want JL movies or not.

A series about Revan could be fantastic, however in my opinion i think a KotoR movie first would be awesome. It could do the first games storyline in a two part movie. Then do a Revan series, both prequel to the events of KotoR and a sequel to them. Then do a KotoR 2 The Sith Lords two part movie and connected series. Scrap the majority of TOR games storyline and instead have one other movie and perhaps series focusing on Revan and the Exile after KotoR 2 events.

Very happy to hear this! Really enjoyed it last year, the anticipation and build up to the batman panel and trailer was insane for me. Never freaked out that much for any trailer before.     Probably people thinking Jingo deserves a taste of his own medicine by downvoting every post he makes just like he does to his favorite people too. After being followed around by him and sometimes some cronies of his for so long getting every single thing I say downvoted multiple times no matter the subject, I am pleased seeing the scale is a little more balanced now lol

      What i'm saying is the downvote is used more spitefully or for arsey reasons then its purpose of just being i disagree, same goes for Reddit where people will downvote someone into nothing just because they said something they don't like. I don't like the Downvote because it leads to minor online bullying like how he does to you. Its not just here but nearly anywhere what uses Disqus and has a community of such. Its why i only downvote someone now for strict reasons like hate speech or something.

    The best part is that they used the horrendous last "Heroes" trailer.
    Even WB knows that they can't use the first 2 better trailers to advertise the film because those trailers have more in common with ZSJL then JL TC. 😂😂

I'm just waiting for another The Batman trailer.
First one was fire. Hopefully this one will have a better look at the Batsuit in action, some Bruce and Alfred banter and more Riddler.

Also some more information on season 4 of Young Justice. Maybe a trailer or a sneak peak.
For me, Young Justice is the best anything DC has going on around right now.
I do hope that with shift to HBOMax they announce a bigger budget and with that a change of animation studios, hopefully back to the original one that did the first 2 seasons.

So did anyone see the Justice Society movie? It's pretty great! It's in the same continuity as the Man of Tomorrow movie. So glad the N52 inspired universe is gone.

People will obviously tune in for The Batman content which should yield the first official trailer after last years excellent teaser. Beyond that, is there actually much to be excited about on the immediate horizon? Black Adam may show up for a teaser as well as The Flash but is anyone looking forward to more Shazam? You've also got the Rocksteady and Montreal games which seem to have been delayed and barely spoken about or teased in the last yeast. Personally I'm still annoyed Rocksteady are wasting their energy on a Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League Game when there was massive potential elsewhere. Will of course tune in, just hope that it is worthwhile like it was last year!

They can release trailer for Batman.
A first look for Black Adam and Shazam 2.
Costume reveals for The Flash.
Casting/new character reveals for Aquaman 2.
On TV side, weve got the Batman spin-off show. Peacmaker. Titans.
Young Justice.
Maybe some info about the new GL show hopefully.
Then theres also surprise announcements.
Lest just hope we get some good things.
