      Funny thing is if he had actually bothered to read the article, it only talks about the viewer ship both films drew in, in the first 5 minutes of release not the entire weekend.
      Also, WW84 was released on a Christmas Weekend, at mid day, while ZSJL was released on a non holiday weekend at 3 AM EST, and still managed to get comparable numbers.
      And Contrary to his lies, the numbers only include 19 to 21 march, not 18th march, and ZSJL managed to outperform FaWS which is the biggest Disney+ premiere yet and has more subscribers in the US then HBOmax.
      And these numbers don't even include the international numbers where Snyder has a very big Fanbase.
      By no measure, can this performance by ZSJL, a movie that by his claims no one but the Snyder fans wanted, be deemed a failure.

It really will be interesting to see what WB and HBO Max decide to do with DC movies and programmes going forward. Snyder Cut is doing better than most expected and I'm sure they have noticed. If they are only going to make movies with minorities and race swapped characters then I'm out and i think DC will tank.

I'm all for representation in movies and shows but only were it makes sense and is respectful to the source material. They are literally sitting on a potential gold mine but dont seem to know how to capitalise on it effectively. I hope we hear more about their DC plans soon.

I don't think they will only do race swapped stuff, but Snyder's stuff doesn't have a future either. I still think Flashpoint is most likely going to reboot things and give them somewhat of a fresh slate. We will still get our Clark Kent and other characters, just less divisive versions.

    I've said it to Drake before, but I wish they would just open with (or maybe end Flashpoint with) a fully developed DC universe. That alone would separate them from the MCU, because the MCU is still building up and still has a lot to include. Imagine if after Flashpoint, Flash wakes up or something an goes outside, and sees a fully developed DCU?
    Superman flying by overhead (in a better more accurate costume, not the crazy dark costume Snyder has him in), Lex Luthor on TV giving a press confidence (not the comically bad Zuckerlex, but an actual intimidating confident Lex), zoom out a bit and show a GL carting someone away from earth in a cage, zoom out a bit more and show the JL satellite etc. I think that would be an awesome way to go, but of course that won't happen.

I actually wouldn't be totally against that and as long as they had a clearer vision and endgame mapped out I'd be totally fine with it

      I think it would be such an amazing move n revitalize the franchise. Showing the developed DCU could include much more that I mentioned. So many people are fans of JLU and video games that I think it would work really well. I wish I didn't expect to be disappointed but if nothing else it means I can be surprised if it's good going forward.

      They could even test it out during a sequence in the Flash movie, see how audiences respond to barry stepping out into a world with a fully formed DCU. It would be an expensive sequence to film and hard to do without locking actors into roles but if it got a good reaction from people they could go all in with it.

      For sure, that's a good idea also. I don't think it would be too expensive to film, the scene would only have to be between and 10 minutes, and you could even avoid having actors faces being shown if done well. You could show several heroes from a distance, from the back, have them being reported on in TV and newspapers etc. All the audience would need to see is that it is a fully fleshed out universe. You could reference lots of fun villains, have lots of easter eggs etc. It's a long shot but if I ever win the lottery I plan on bullying DC into coming and letting me take over lol.

  Parrallax was really done badly though. The cgi for his costume is very sketchy but that aside its an entertaining comic book movie and left me wanting more. Strong was an awesome Sinestro and would love to have seen more of him in a sequel.

    Oh for sure Parrallax was badly done, i don't think any CBM that has a big cloud for a villain has ever done well, FF2 with Galactus comes to mind. The third act in general was weak, and there was too much time spent on earth. Everything on Oa was amazing, Reynolds was great as Hal and completely agree Strong was amazing as Sinestro. I think a sequel could have fixed a lot and come back very strong, honestly.

The movie breaks for me when Hammond's head starts to swell. I think that's about halfway through the movie, so half I enjoyed, half not. Parralax looking like a big ol' turd cloud didn't help either.

      I wouldn't say the chance of the franchise continuing in some capacity is totally dead in the water. I'd say there is a bigger chance of getting more movies with these characters in them, than perhaps having Snyder get a crack at a full fledged JL 2 with total control.

    The MCU is an absolute powerhouse but Bucky and Falcon are hardly top tier characters. If this show was an Iron Man and Spiderman show, I guarantee ZSJL probably wouldn't have come out on top. Hell I like the MCU myself but the trailer for F&WS have done nothing to make me interested in it and thats despite The Winter Soldier being my favorite movie. I'm glad ZSJL was received so positively but this comparison is not nearly a like for like scenario, so while it is impressive i don't think people should get ahead of themselves just yet.

  I don't think the comparison really means much anyway given the different formats, but it's interesting. The fact that it had far less viewings than WW84 I think is interesting.

    I haven't seen the numbers of how it stacks up against WW84 viewings. However I have seen a report this morning by a 3rd party analytics group and they claimed only 1 3rd of viewers actually finished the SC. So while initial numbers are impressive, if this report is true 2 3rds of viewers couldn't make it through the movie, which would be a concern I imagine.

Once you take into account all the numbers, I would be surprised if ZSJL didn’t outperform WW84 - which recall performed pretty darn well, and even so well that it was IMMEDIATELY GREENLIT FOR A SEQUEL. WB Pictures posted the fight scene in BvS on youtube and 9 out of 10 comments have the restore hash tag. There were 2500 comments when I last checked. That's quite an impressive Twitter minority. Despite that, I don't think they should restore the Snyderverse. They got their slate out, it's time to move on, BUT some comic books would be nice. Well, maybe a low budget Batman vs Deathstroke HBO Max series could work. I'd like it Affleck directed it.

        Funny thing is if he had actually bothered to read the article, it only talks about the viewer ship both films drew in, in the first 5 minutes of release not the entire weekend.
        Also, WW84 was released on a Christmas Weekend, at mid day, while ZSJL was released on a non holiday weekend at 3 AM EST, and still managed to get comparable numbers.
        And Contrary to his lies, the numbers only include 19 to 21 march, not 18th march, and ZSJL managed to outperform FaWS which is the biggest Disney+ premiere yet and has more subscribers in the US then HBOmax.
        And these numbers don't even include the international numbers where Snyder has a very big Fanbase.
        By no measure, can this performance by ZSJL, a movie that by his claims no one but the Snyder fans wanted, be deemed a failure.

It really will be interesting to see what WB and HBO Max decide to do with DC movies and programmes going forward. Snyder Cut is doing better than most expected and I'm sure they have noticed. If they are only going to make movies with minorities and race swapped characters then I'm out and i think DC will tank.
I'm all for representation in movies and shows but only were it makes sense and is respectful to the source material. They are literally sitting on a potential gold mine but dont seem to know how to capitalise on it effectively. I hope we hear more about their DC plans soon.

  I don't think they will only do race swapped stuff, but Snyder's stuff doesn't have a future either. I still think Flashpoint is most likely going to reboot things and give them somewhat of a fresh slate. We will still get our Clark Kent and other characters, just less divisive versions.

      I've said it to Drake before, but I wish they would just open with (or maybe end Flashpoint with) a fully developed DC universe. That alone would separate them from the MCU, because the MCU is still building up and still has a lot to include. Imagine if after Flashpoint, Flash wakes up or something an goes outside, and sees a fully developed DCU?
      Superman flying by overhead (in a better more accurate costume, not the crazy dark costume Snyder has him in), Lex Luthor on TV giving a press confidence (not the comically bad Zuckerlex, but an actual intimidating confident Lex), zoom out a bit and show a GL carting someone away from earth in a cage, zoom out a bit more and show the JL satellite etc. I think that would be an awesome way to go, but of course that won't happen.

        They could even test it out during a sequence in the Flash movie, see how audiences respond to barry stepping out into a world with a fully formed DCU. It would be an expensive sequence to film and hard to do without locking actors into roles but if it got a good reaction from people they could go all in with it.

        For sure, that's a good idea also. I don't think it would be too expensive to film, the scene would only have to be between and 10 minutes, and you could even avoid having actors faces being shown if done well. You could show several heroes from a distance, from the back, have them being reported on in TV and newspapers etc. All the audience would need to see is that it is a fully fleshed out universe. You could reference lots of fun villains, have lots of easter eggs etc. It's a long shot but if I ever win the lottery I plan on bullying DC into coming and letting me take over lol.

    Parrallax was really done badly though. The cgi for his costume is very sketchy but that aside its an entertaining comic book movie and left me wanting more. Strong was an awesome Sinestro and would love to have seen more of him in a sequel.

      Oh for sure Parrallax was badly done, i don't think any CBM that has a big cloud for a villain has ever done well, FF2 with Galactus comes to mind. The third act in general was weak, and there was too much time spent on earth. Everything on Oa was amazing, Reynolds was great as Hal and completely agree Strong was amazing as Sinestro. I think a sequel could have fixed a lot and come back very strong, honestly.

      The MCU is an absolute powerhouse but Bucky and Falcon are hardly top tier characters. If this show was an Iron Man and Spiderman show, I guarantee ZSJL probably wouldn't have come out on top. Hell I like the MCU myself but the trailer for F&WS have done nothing to make me interested in it and thats despite The Winter Soldier being my favorite movie. I'm glad ZSJL was received so positively but this comparison is not nearly a like for like scenario, so while it is impressive i don't think people should get ahead of themselves just yet.

However I have seen a report this morning by a 3rd party analytics group and they claimed only 1 3rd of viewers actually finished the SC. So while initial numbers are impressive, if this report is true 2 3rds of viewers couldn't make it through the movie, which would be a concern I imagine.

Despite that, I don't think they should restore the Snyderverse. They got their slate out, it's time to move on, BUT some comic books would be nice. Well, maybe a low budget Batman vs Deathstroke HBO Max series could work. I'd like it Affleck directed it.
