Spotify is going all in it would seem on bringing fans the audio adventures of their favorite DC characters.
During Spotify's Feb. 22 Stream On event, the company shared some details about the upcoming DC podcasts. The project was first announced in June 2020, but things have been fairly quiet since then.
The first project that will be released is the previously announced Batman Unburied written by David S. Goyer. The story will reportedly be a deeper exploration into the darker side of Bruce Wayne's psychology. The series is due for release later this year.
Other planned series will focus on Wonder Woman, Joker, Lois Lane, Harley Quinn, Katana, Catwoman, Riddler, and Batgirl.
"This is a long-term partnership between Warner Bros., DC and Spotify," DC chief creative officer Jim Lee said. "I think the fanbase is going to respond to this in an exciting way and embrace it as something new and novel."
For those fans outside of the areas where Spotify is currently available, the company also announced that it will be expanding into 80 more markets this year.
