Dwayne Johnson shows off Black Adam artwork and the Justice Society

After a decade of development, Black Adam is finally moving towards production and Dwayne Johnson shared new artwork and some news at DC FanDome.

Dwayne Johnson has been promising the Black Adam film for what feels like forever, but it seems that things are finally coming together. To prove that, he shared some concept artwork during DC FanDome that shows off the story beginning 5,000 years ago and continuing in the present day.

Dwayne Johnson shared that the Justice Society, which many assumed would be in the movie, will include Atom Smasher, Cyclone, Doctor Fate, and Hawkman. While no new casting was shared, Noah Centineo (Atom Smasher) did make an appearance and promised Johnson he was training hard to take him on in the film.

Black Adam was scheduled for a Dec. 22, 2021, but the date is sure to be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

I'm very excited for this now, The Rock is clearly excited and putting 200% into this and he knows his stuff what seems first hand and not something he's been told to say. The suit is just godly as well.

I'm really really intrigued about this movie, never thought I'd see JS movie of a big caliber, and from the hands of The Rock no less!

Seeing him donning the suit and being a bad guy is going to be quite the view

I loved what I saw, but I'm really disappointed that it's not gonna be set "5000 years ago". Would be so cool if they made it a historical set piece in ancient times.

I like what I saw but I would be lying if I said I think the Rock can deliver a good performance. Cautiously optimistic. Hopefully he proves me wrong. Super excited for the JSA however.

Black Adam’s suit will unsurprisingly look drastically better than Shazam’s. They better change it up in a major way for Shazam: Fury of the Gods to match that quality and aesthetic.

Also excited to see how they’ll depict Doctor Fate and Hawkman in this. But I’m wondering how they’re going to explain the existence of the JSA before MoS and JL.

They already said they're changing the costume. I don't think the design was really the problem. Some of the implementation was kinda blah. But the look of the suit was pretty good.

  Yeah, but it sounded like it might’ve just been minor tweaks. I’m hoping it’s more substantial, and that they make it fall in line with this suit, specifically. This is the look they should’ve gone with from the start, to be honest. Epic, magical, battle-ready, ancient. Way better.
  Shazam’s costume is one of the worst pieces of costume design in the DCEU, next to Atlanna and Mera’s sequins-covered Walmart wetsuits in AM. Its design was cheap and fake looking and entirely inconsistent with the aesthetic of the rest of the movie’s magic as well as the rest of the DCEU in general, making it stick out like a sore thumb even more than that fakey overly stuffed foam muscle padding does alone. And don’t get me wrong; I liked the movie well enough, but I’m just being honest with myself.

    You haven't even seen the Black Adam suit actually made and worn. Till then concept art is all you have to judge.

      Correct, but so far the little we see of the concept art looks more promising than the actual fully realized Shazam costume is - there’s armor, texture, added detailing that is actually visible unlike Shazam’s useless stitching, and an apparently better use of colors and materials, though they still have opted for the yellow lighting bolt instead of the white, which I find a bit odd. But as long as they don’t use frosted plastic over some yellow LED’s, like can be found in a toy, as was done for Shazam, it will still be an improvement.
