I'm of the age where I remember the word "mondo" being a regular fixture in the vernacular.  Like "radical" and "bodacious," it was typically used to denote something that was more than merely "cool."  No, if something was mondo, it was extremely cool.

Was the use of this slang going through the minds of the folks over at Mondo?  I mean, considering the amazing prints and other products they put out, I wouldn't doubt it in the least.

The problem with the great output from Mondo, though, is that it is incredibly hard to get a hold of some of their prints, albums, and figures.  Luck plays just as big a part in being able to snag a cool Batman: The Animated Series print as needing funds to buy it in the first place.

Thankfully, Mondo have joined forces with the good people at Insight Editions to bring us Batman: The Animated Series: The Phantom Creative Collection, an art book that features Mondo artist Justin Erickson's incredible design work and prints based on the beloved series.  That B:TAS writer and co-producer Paul Dini will be writing the introduction is just a nice added bonus.
