UK approves new filming guidelines paving way for The Batman to resume

It has been one of the biggest questions on the mind of Batman fans for months: When will The Batman resume production? It seems we are one very large step closer to it happening.

In mid-March, filming on The Batman was suspended due to the growing coronavirus pandemic. Since then, part of the delay to returning to work has been waiting on the U.K. government to issue new guidelines for film and television production. At long last, those guidelines appear to be ready to go.

According to a report from The Guardian, the guidelines have been approved and will soon be distributed to production crews. Considering film and TV production brings in nearly £3.6B (approx. $4.46B USD) a year, so this has been a high priority to get up and running again.

The new rules are said to include instructions on physical distancing, safety training, and temperature tests.

Even with these guidelines having been approved, don't expect production to resume overnight. Each production is going to need to discuss how to implement the rules. There are also going to be delays as gathering and travel restrictions will need to be lifted. There are also questions about how much need to be done to reassemble crews. Right now, the estimates are that productions will begin to resume in July.

The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 1, 2021.

How hell are they going to do fight scenes? You have to interact with people for them, i guess you can use CG but that would shoot up the budget and not look right.

No reason they can't if people are tested and precautions taken. Plus I'm sure they have a lot to shoot that isn't just fight scenes.

It's very possible. The UFC is having actual fights almost every week now. Production companies can take a page or two from their book, adapt it to their needs and go to work. It'll be hard and expensive but doable

Here's a prediction:

When The Batman is released, everyone will be watching to see which scenes were filmed pre-lockdown vs. post-lockdown.

It'll be like when everyone examined Justice League to explain which were the Zack and which were the Joss scenes.

I don't think they got very far before quarantine, did they? I feel like 90% of the movie has yet to shoot

  I think people are expecting to see one scene where everyone is shoulder to shoulder, then the next scene they will all be 6ft apart.

It's "simple"
The UFC is doing it and production companies can do kind of the same:
You get the minimum crew you can, test them, quarantine them, keep track of their whereabouts till necessary and then go to work.

Well, they are the pioneers at working mid-pandemy so there's gonna be errors but they are doing a great job actually.

  I dunno if you actually follow MMA but Jcare and his corner tested positive, they removed them and that was it. Nothing happened, no one else was infected for being close to them and since then they've had other 4 events with no problem at all. I didn't even bother the article tbh but there's no need.

Let's hope that doesn't happen or we may find ourselves watching The Batman in 2022.
