on The Flash movie was reportedly to start pre-production in April

It seems that the coronavirus shutdown of production on The Batman won't be the only DC film to take a hit. A new interview with a crew member from Ezra Miller's The Flash suggests that film will be delaying pre-production.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to shut down movie releases and production, even films that are more than two years from release are being impacted.

Eunice Huthart recently spoke with ScreenRant about her work on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. As her next project is The Flash, it was natural that it would come up as well. "The project I was due to start is The Flash," said Huthart. "I was supposed to start at about the end of April, beginning of May. I'm not sure what's happening now with that."

At this stage, it's only pre-production that is being delayed, so the film may be able to catch up slightly. Some departments, such as the art department, could even begin their work from home. For now, we'll just have to wait and see how much this potentially sets the film back if at all.

The Flash is scheduled to hit theaters on July 1, 2022.

    Ezra sucks.Can't stand his Flash.

I feel like people shouldn't put so much blame on Ezra. A lot of that was writing and direction. They clearly wanted him to be a generic 2010s millennial stereotype. With better jokes and direction he can certainly do better as he is a fairly talented guy. And remember it was Ezra who supposedly wanted a darker story for this film

A darker story is suppose to be a good thing? Sounds more like his direction is wrong for the character.

Yeah, I really doubt that he understands Flash. It seems to be a very prevalent problem among these actors. If I were the director, I'd force my starts to read through a ton of acclaimed and iconic comic books pertaining to their characters, so that they know the ins and outs of what is to be expected.

I mean...we don't really know what "darker" means in this sense. Its entirely relative. And either way thats not exactly the point. The point is that it would suggest he doesn't necessarily want a cheese fest which is what his character was in JL. I also find it interesting how thats the one thing you got from my comment. The cynical personalities on this site never cease to amaze me.

The Flash has tons of dark stories lmao. Geoff John's rewrite of Barry Allen's origin is the most accepted one for the character and it's easily the darkest. And even before that Barry Allen went through tons of trauma.
Hell a lot of Wally's stories are dark too.
The characters don't have to be edgy to be in dark situations. And Ezra's flash definitely isn't edgy.

https://uploads.disquscdn.c... I'm cool with Ezra Miller as the Flash. The basically adult Peter Parker depiction, works just fine for Barry Allen. The superhero that genuinely loves being a superhero. With a decent script, Ezra will crush it.

We'll never get a DC/Marvel crossover, but the next best thing would be a Sonic/Flash crossover. Sonic has already shown himself to be a fan of Flash in the new movie, so why not?

      1. Hunter Zolomon Avatar
        Hunter Zolomon

Be a bit of a dent in Sonic's ego having someone run rings around him haha. You know it sucks we got a film based on super speed what isn't a Flash film before The Flash got his own film, now that X-men blew us away with Quicksilver twice and Sonic really entertained us with the bar fight i feel having Barry do something along those lines will have a been done that feel. Really the only way to up the game now is have Barry and Thawne fight while racing around the world what all takes place in a single second in actual time.

        1. DudeofSteel1Million Avatar
          DudeofSteel1Million

Sonic was enjoyably entertaining - possibly the last real box office hit of the entire year if the pandemic doesn't calm down by the end of the summer.

Speedster time-slow scenes are definitely becoming common enough that they're losing their shine. Even the low-budget TV show does them.
But a true Speedster fight sequence has yet to be done in live action.

The Flash show has dabbled in some coolness, but they lack the budget to really pull it off. A 150+ million dollar budgeted fight scene between Flash and Reverse Flash could potentially be jaw-droppingly awesome.

Marvel are about to trounce DC again with something DC should have had a natural lead in; multiverse stories.

That was always DC's forte, with Marvel being uncomfortable with it until more recently.

Now Marvel is bringing multiverse stuff to the big screen, and DC can't even get a basic well received shared universe off the ground.

DC can get a shared universe off the ground they doing it with the arrowverse which do Multiverse stuff all the time.
DC something that the MCU never done before and that was bring they A list movie character Ezra/Flash to Arrowverse.
People want the MCU tv characters to be in Endgame but the Russo Brothers said people will be confuse if that happen but nobody was confuse when DC did it.
            It was trending everywhere

I just figured out the perfect plan for the DCEU, in my best-scenario dream world. Assuming this movie is still supposed to be a Flashpoint-type story, and that the Snyder Cut will be released, they could finish Snyder's original 5-movie plan ending in Batman's death, then Flashpoint could do a soft reboot of the universe bringing Pattinson's Batman into the DCEU and allowing the DCEU to continue under a different direction: have your cake and eat it, too.

How long did it take for Donner's cut of Superman 2 to see daylight... and that with the theatrical cut being the most highly regarded of the Chris Reeve series?

          3. Hunter Zolomon Avatar
            Hunter Zolomonreplying to Mark

Because JL is on the level of Superman 2 and Snyder is on the level of Donner, haha don't make me laugh. Big difference Superman 2 was a hit at the time and is still loved, Donner is a legit great director who made one of the best comic book films ever and helped define who Superman is what is still felt today, doing the Donner Cut made a lot of sense and unlike JL would have been far cheaper to make (because people like you don't realize how costly CGI is) and was used to hype up a new Superman film. JL on the other hand bombed hard, reviewed poorly, isn't liked and Snyder himself is a poor director with a very small fanbase what wouldn't cover the costs of a Snyder Cut.

          4. NinjaGamer13 Avatar
            NinjaGamer13replying to Hunter Zolomon

Has nothing to do with being on any kind of “level.” It’s all about supply and demand, and the amount of persistent fan outcry for this movie is unprecedented.

          5. NinjaGamer13 Avatar
            NinjaGamer13replying to Hunter Zolomon

Yep and remarkably the movement’s only gotten bigger and bigger. More people have seen the Cut, Snyder teasing reshoots and holding contests and having the legal permission to sell merch that flat-out says the re-branded “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” trending globally on social media like crazy, many thousands of dollars raised for AFSP, Subway and a bunch of other restaurant chains supporting the movement, tons of celebrities both involved with the movie and not calling for its release, AT&T dropping hints that it might be coming on social media, and on and on. It’s inevitable. Nothing has this much demand and this much fire without coming to fruition eventually.

          6. Hunter Zolomon Avatar
            Hunter Zolomonreplying to NinjaGamer13

Have you got any hard evidence of this beyond what ever Snyder puts out or the many many rumours We Got This Covered shits out daily? Here's some news for you the world has gone into lockdown, The Batman one of the biggest films of next year may not even make next year now and WW84 due out in a few months may not make it either, do you really think WB gives the slightest fucks about Justice League a film what bombed so hard it killed the DCEU shared aspect? reshoots? Yeah WB are funding two Batmen right now for films, Affleck is done he's busy shooting an erotic film for Disney with his new GF Ana De Armas so do you really think he's like yeah lets go back to a role what caused nothing but trouble when my life is back together. Snyder's a troll and loves people stroking his ego, he will say anything to stay relevant.

While Batman News is pretty shit now i do think they would cover such news especially because of the traffic it would bring, the fact Sean doesn't touch it implies its all bullshit considering this is a guy what will post anything.

          7. NinjaGamer13 Avatar
            NinjaGamer13replying to Hunter Zolomon

See my above comment for the answer to your question. Also I forgot to mention all the scoopers coming out in increasing numbers with full confidence in its release. Where there’s THIS much smoke, there’s gotta be fire.

The pandemic will surely set the Snyder Cut’s release back a bit, too, of course, ‘cause it’s throwing a wrench into everything in general, but yes absolutely I think WB “gives the slightest fucks.” As many have noted, there is money to be made with this, and where money can be made, businesses tend to try to make it.

When did you become Zack Snyder’s personal psychoanalyst and how well do you know him personally?
All I know is almost every single person who has ever worked with him without fail calls him essentially the nicest guy they’ve ever worked with and say how loyal they are to him.

No, he’s missed some huge developments. All his ineptitude in handling this site continues to imply is just that. In all honesty, when he first explained that they would not be doing any more posts relating to Snyder, it sounded more like just a way to avoid the drama. But it’s like you said, the traffic those articles get is high; that means the Snyder Cut has a big potential draw, and why wouldn’t a studio release it? Especially when the evidence now points to it being in a mostly complete form

    2. Drake Grayson Avatar
      Drake Grayson

That would involve extensive reshoots. They never filmed Batman’s death or fight in Apokolips, ect. So yeah that ain’t happening. Maybe a rough cut of Snyder’s part 1, but that’s about it.

As for soft reboot with Flashpoint, I agree. Post credit scene of Flash visiting Batcave and having similar conversation with Batman where he says, “It is Bruce, right?..” and it’s Jon Hamm, Karl Urban or Armie Hammer aged up to mid forties. Reeves Batman cannot and will not exist in the DCEU with any continuity. Doesn’t mean there can’t be another Batman actor in DCEU.

      1. NinjaGamer13 Avatar
        NinjaGamer13

“Extensive” seems unlikely at this point with what we know.

Why do you think Reeves Batman can’t be in the DCEU in any way, shape, or form?

        1. Drake Grayson Avatar
          Drake Grayson

Reeves is creating his own universe. His own Bruce, Alfred, Gordon, villains, and his own Gotham. It’s not the Gotham or rogues or supporting characters that have already been established. WW, Aquaman, Shazam, Birds of Prey and both Suicide Squads fit in the universe. Reeves’ version will be so different there will be no squaring that circle. But like I said, Flashpoint can still change some actors and smaller aspects of the DCEU. Just not on the level of making Pattinson the DCEU Batman or Phoenix as Joker. There’s nothing wrong with different versions in their own different universes. My hope for Reeves’ Joker btw is now Adam Driver. I think him and Pattinson will have great chemistry on film.

          1. NinjaGamer13 Avatar
            NinjaGamer13replying to Drake Grayson

The only thing we’ve gotten as far as “official confirmation” is at this point regarding Reeve’s Batman movie is that it IS supposed to be in the DCEU. However, things could have changed since then. But to say with such confidence that it isn’t seems unrealistic to me. All I can say is we don’t know. Recasting doesn’t mean it’s not in continuity. But with time travel and alternate universe shenanigans that would come out of a Flashpoint movie, all of that matters even less.
