Were you surprised when Lucifer appeared in hour 3 of Crisis on Infinite Earths? Feel betrayed that Tom Ellis lied about his inclusion in the crossover? He had his reasons.
In early Oct. it was reported that Ellis had been spotted on the set of the crossover dressed in his usual Lucifer attire. A week later Entertainment Tonight interviewed him on the set of Lucifer season 5 and he denied it. He claimed he had been to the set for a friend's birthday and nothing more.
Now that the episode has aired, Ellis has apologized for the lie, but it is clear everyone is amused by it. Ellis and Matt Ryan who plays Constantine thought it would be fun to keep it secret, but as with most things, social media spoiled it.
In the end, it worked out, and his apology and talk of the crossover is longer than the actual scene he appeared in.
Lucifer season 5 is currently filming and will debut on Netflix in 2020.
