Diamond recently released a pretty sweet Batman statue in their Gallery line, and now they've got a GameStop-exclusive of his biggest bad. I was very excited when this one was announced, because Diamond's GameStop stuff tends to be their best. So how about Joker? Watch the video, or read the transcript below to find out.

Diamond Select’s GameStop exclusives are some of the best values on the collectible market. They recently released a pretty impressive Harley Gallery, and now her puddin’ is joining the mix.

Mr. J comes in a handsome, colorful box. It’s 11.5 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 6 and 3 quarters deep.

Out of the box, the Clown Prince is 9.5 inches tall, 5 inches wide—that’s from edge to overlapping fish edge— and just under 5 inches deep—accounting for the little bit of mallet overhang.

The sculpt on Joker is outstanding, from a face that is evil, yet deceptively fun, to the layers of his suit, to the numerous instruments of mayhem about his feet. His pose makes me think he’s at the climax of a card trick, but turn him around, and you’ll see that the card’s just a feint, and the joke’s on you.

The paint job on Mr. J’s body and base are almost perfect. There’s some really sloppy work on the tails of his bow tie, and his flower is a bit messy, but most of it looks just dandy.

The head paint is mostly good, too, but the hair and eyebrows are not the same color, and the mouth is a bit messy all over, especially around the teeth. The pink accents on the face and ears are frankly a little strange, too.

Overall, Joker’s paint is not in the same class as that found on the other GameStop-exclusives I’ve reviewed, but he’s still better than your average Diamond Gallery. And unless you’re close up, his flaws aren’t prominent, so you’ll end up with a handsome statue for around 50 bucks. And that kind of a deal is no joke.
