Todd Phillips reveals new Joker image to celebrate film festival announcements

Getting your movie into one film festival is no easy trick. Getting it into two of the most prestigious film festivals? Yeah, you need to celebrate.

Following the news that Joker will be included in the Toronto International Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival, director Todd Phillips celebrated by sharing a new image from his upcoming film. "Honored and thrilled," said Phillips, "to be having our World Premiere at the 76th Venice International Film Festival and our North American premiere two weeks later at the Toronto Film Festival. Excited for everyone to finally get a look.

I don't do well with stairs on a good day, so this new Joker image just gives me anxiety.

It's amazing to think we're in a world now where not only does the Joker get his own movie, but it's being considered a contender at leading film festivals. We simply can't wait to see this movie.

Joker will hit general release in theaters on Oct. 4.

I like how the pictures Phillips choose reveals nothing about the plot.

Given that the movie will premiere in major public festivals almost two months before its theatrical release, I doubt they are worried about leaks or plot spoilers. The marketing strategy for this film is completely different from that of the regular MCU flick.
The sad part would be if, after WB decided to do "a different kind" of comic book movie, the critics hated it. The studio seems to be very confident in the final product though.

    No, what they have shown with a recent slate of very diverse films is that they are following a director-centered approach where each filmmaker is basically free to do his/her own thing without sticking to a pre-determined shared universe formula as the one used by Disney/Marvel.
    Although Aquaman, Shazam and BoP for example are all on the light side, they are very different from each other with Aquaman being more like the visually spectacular, heavy CGI fantasy CBM, Shazam being more of a kids movie, and BoP (I think) being probably an R-rated crazy trip.

I hope this stairs scene wont take up 15 mins of screen time.

As much excitement and anticipation i have for this, i am equally worried. It had better have (some) action.

Well, If you are worried about quality then you shouldn't be.I expect Joker to be great and probably the best dceu movie so far.
