HBO just debuted a new trailer for its upcoming Watchmen series. Buckle up, it's a doozy. (Also be warned of some harsh language)
The new trailer reveals the series is arriving in October. That is probably the most important thing as it's finally not just a vague declaration of "Fall."
Of course, there are many other takeaways from the trailer with the biggest revelation coming at the end that it appears Dr. Manhattan has returned to Earth. You see a blue hand reach down and pick up a Dr. Manhattan mask, so unless someone is doing some elaborate cosplay, it does appear that he has come back from Mars.
We still don't know exactly what is happening in the story. Despite the trailer running for three minutes, nothing is shown that gives away what this conspiracy could be. We do, however, see a lot of hallmarks of the Watchmen universe, and somehow, the Owlship, Archimedes, is there and throwing Don Johnson's character around inside. We're all for Archie making an appearance in the series.
There's a lot to go over in this trailer, and we're sure all of us will be watching it more than a few times. For now, just enjoy the fact we appear to only be about three months away from the premiere.
