Doom Patrol heading for home video release this fall

As we all anxiously await word on whether or not we will get a second season of Doom Patrol, we now know when to expect the home video release.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray releases will be available starting on Oct. 1. The DVD set will have a suggested retail price of $24.98 ($30.99 in Canada) and will include deleted scenes and a gag reel. The Blu-ray set will retail for $29.98 ($39.99 in Canada) and will include the same extras, but will additionally include a code to own a digital version of the season.

For those of you who just wish to pick it up digitally, it will be available on Aug. 26 and will only include the gag reel. No word on the pricing for this version as of yet.

Following the mysterious disappearance of their leader, Dr. Niles Caulder (“The Chief”), these reluctant heroes will find themselves in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.

We thoroughly enjoyed Doom Patrol season 1, and we've got every finger in the office crossed in hopes of a season 2. If you haven't subscribed to DC Universe, and have been the least bit curious about this series, we highly recommend picking this up when it hits shelves this fall.

Hate to say it but i don't think we are getting a 2nd Season sadly, if we were i think we would know by know especially when Titans got one before it even aired. You know i think Titans is the only one what will get a 2nd season with everything except maybe Young Justice being axed after one Season and i also think Titans won't be getting a 3rd Season.

Even the actors on Titans were surprised they got a 2nd season. That extra cash from Netflix helped.

  The fact Doom Patrol has yet to appear in the UK is rather telling to me, i think the DC App is going to die within the year.

    Isn't it on HBO Go in the UK? We have it here in Romania.
    I think DC Universe was just a guinea pig for the big Warner streaming service. If they wanted to be serious about it they would've released it world wide.

      I'm not aware HBO Go is here in the UK as anything HBO does we get on Sky Atlantic.

I'm just glad we got a full season of completely insane content. I haven't finished it yet (Not legally available in Australia) but by all accounts they covered most of the major elements from the Grant Morrison run in particular and don't leave any critical cliffhanger.
