First Look at Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor on Supergirl Has Been Released

At long last, the first look at Jon Cryer on The CW's Supergirl has arrived!

The CW released the first image of Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor on Wednesday. We still aren't sure when he will be making his debut on Supergirl, but it seems that we're definitely getting closer.

It was first revealed in Nov. 2018 that Jon Cryer would be playing Lex Luthor, but since that time things have been pretty radio silent on how that was progressing.

Lex has been somewhat of a looming shadow over the series for some time now, especially with his sister Lena (Katie McGrath) being such a prominent character on the series.

Will Lex cause problems for Supergirl (Melissa Benoist)? Yeah... we think that's a safe bet.

I feel the people who complain about Superman saying that stuff have never read The Supergirl From Krypton where its stated Kara is more powerful then Superman, the only reason he has advantage at that point is because she's new to this and he's been under the yellow sun longer. It stands to reason that the Kara we have in Supergirl whose been on Earth a very long time and been active as Supergirl for 3 or 4 years could now have topped Superman's level. Come on Zod is usually depicted to be stronger then Supes yet no one cares then, hmm i wonder why?

  Because Zod was a military general, actually trained in combat. What story are you referencing specifically? In every continuity I know, Kara is always leagues behind Superman. Also, I was talking about Lex, not Superman.

    Post Crisis continuity, the story i'm referencing is the story what introduced Supergirl back to continuity and Superman outright states she's more powerful then him, they even made a Animated film on the story. The reason he's usually depicted as more powerful is because he's been on Earth since a child and has mastered his abilities and been under the Yellow Sun longer.
    I know you mentioned Lex but your comment was referencing Superman saying Supergirl is more powerful then him.
    Also as for Zod well his combat skills rarely play into fights with Superman, on a base strength level he's usually depicted as stronger. The reason Superman has an advantage over him is because Zod relies on strength and heat vision too much while Supes uses all his powers and again is more experienced with them.

      I suppose that's a fair argument, of course, I usually focus on New 52/Rebirth continuity now. Part of me wonders if Clark said that because he's a "nice guy". Also, I'm assuming Superman was referring to the fact that Kara had the potential to be more powerful than him? I mean, he has been exposed to the Sun longer and has had alot more training, so he is technically more powerful. In newer continuity, he seems to showcase some powers that I don't believe Kara has the capability for. Either way, It's a little reassuring to know that the show didn't just make up that line to make Kara stronger because she's a woman. Although in the crossover, I believe Superman just straight up said that Kara was more powerful, which doesn't make sense when you factor in time on the Earth.

  Take away the Luthor name and no one would think Eisenberg is Luthor, in fact remove his hatred for Superman and Luthor name and he has nothing in common with Luthor.

    But we’re not talking about characterization, since we haven’t seen this version of Lex in action yet; we’re talking appearance, and in that department, too, I think Lex has him beat. Perhaps you’ve seen the picture comparisons I’ve posted before of Eisenberg and Luthor from the comics? He’s pretty identifiable actually.

He's gonna fucking kill it, mark my words. Remember people wanted Cranston to play Lex in the DCEU and he was Malcom's dad. No reason Cryer can't do it, he's an amazing actor. I stopped watching the show cause of al it's PC bullshit but I will watch the episodes where he's in for sure
