Now aware of Rachel's power, Dick and Kory unite to find her. Escaped from the convent that sought to imprison her, Rachel puts her trust in Gar who reveals his own transformative powers. Seeking refuge, Gar brings Rachel home to his "family" – a group of misfit medical experiments we will come to know as The Doom Patrol (including Cliff Steele aka Robotman, Larry Trainor aka Negative Man and Rita Farr aka Elastiwoman) – in hopes of helping the girl. But what starts as a place of comfort for Rachel, soon turns dark under the scientific curiosity of The Doom Patrol's leader Dr. Niles Caulder, whose experiment into Rachel's powers threatens to set free a darkness, and reveal a new level of evil waiting to escape.

What an awesome introduction to the Doom Patrol imo. I have to apologize for being so pessimistic about this show before it came out but this has been great. In all honesty it's probably in my top 3 cb shows right now. My personal favorite this episode was either Robotman or Negative man.

i was happy to see that actress who played "candy? i think" in 2 and a half men. and realized that if she was a bit younger she could have pulled of a "better" starfire perhaps.

Wish they didn't have two different actors for the chief but whatevs.

This episode is the weakest out of the bunch. It was mostly exposition. It was nice to see the Doom Patrol though.

Cool episode. I'm surprised they didn't do reshoots for the Chief since the actor for the Doom Patrol show is different. I guess it doesn't matter.

I'm not sure if both shows are even in the same universe.
It might be a completely different interpretation of the the team.

  Nah it's definitely the same universe. It looks like they reshot the part of the episode with the pictures showing the doom patrol before their accidents with the new actors.

Out of all the things on a superhero show, you know what annoys me? Is that Dick can flash a Detroit PD badge and get access to a crime scene in Ohio.

i dont think its that unrealistic. they are colleagues after all. its probably against the rules, but if u see a cop asking for some details i could see them change a few words. even if its another district.

  They are not colleagues though. And generally one jurisdiction won't just let another out of state cop in to a crime scene. Believe me that's a lot more bizarre than you might think.

    if u got the same job u kinda are colleagues. And it is more likely that some cop answers a question to another cop than for example a fireman. its not that "bizarre". it might not be very likely to happen, but i dont think this should be a scene that ruins a show for someone. when the show has some bigger "flaws".

      Peer it is then since english isnt my mothertongue i still think its possible since its an interaction between two humans and not machines. U describe the optimal way...but in life this doesnt apply to 100%. Else there would be no corrupt policemen or politician. People make mistakes and sometimes look the other way etc. So according to rules laws u r probably right but u will gwt my point. Nvm talking too much about a tiny scenne xD. Have nice day and if u are american dont forget to vote xD.

      I'm just telling you how it is in the USA. It just doesn't happen like you want to believe, else anyone could just flash any badge and it would be meaningless. It's not a big thing and doesn't detract from the show but it also definitely doesn't work like that at all in real life.

      I understand you...but i think you dont get my point. As i said u describe thw optimal way. But life doesnt work that way .as long as there are humans involved things go wrong. Rules are broken knowinhgly ornot. People look the other way make an excuse etc. U were like this could "Never"happen. Never is a strong word. Look at the white house and trump. I read an article abou trump zelling 8 untrue facts per day since he is in the white house. Cops shooting innocent people etc. Dunno how old u are but im almost 40 and ive seen people breaking rules all the time. So u say u are right 100% and o say you are right in 95% is that hard to understand?

      yes i know. and there are no corrupt managers, politicnas. cops never break any rules. wikileaks is just a hoaks. the president of america never hired a hooker and tried to silence her with money. soldiers in warzones only kill the bad boys and civilians never get hurt.

      and pls read everything i wrote dont just read the parts u want to read. the way i see u answering me ....u didnt even care to read everything else this conversation would be long over. and its not about this scene its about humans in general. if u dont get it by now....u must not have much life experience.

I have the same feeling with Star not changing clothes. Like you have so much fucking money, can take a flight to America from Europe but can't put on normal clothes?

Well, It's been four episodes but I can officially declare Starfire to be the worst character on this show.
Besides being murderous, bitchy and acting superior to everyone, we can now add being hypocritically judgy now to her character.
Demeaning Dick for leaving Rachel alone after he went after her for stealing his car, putting him down for his aggressive behavior even though she kills and maims anyone that gets in her way... (knowing they are going to hook up later in this show is all kind of messed up)

Other than that:
- Is this going to be a thing now with Rachel where she runs away from a place and then immediately goes with the first person that offers her help? (this was like the third or fourth time already)
- Dick having no impulse control kinda explains how he somehow became a detective in Gotham in about five years.
- Looks like the effects on this show are not going to get much better.
- The Doom Patrol scenes were a little inconsistent in tone and didn't really flow well from one to the next. (horror to AC\DC music video to Addams Family comedy to emotional drama then back to horror)
- OK, Dick is now invested in taking care of Rachel and finding out who is after her... when did he accept taking care of Garfield as well?

dont know if u watched Game of thrones, but they have some decent special effects on the show. but they "cut out/not included" a lot of wolve scenes cause it apparently is very expensive. so if a show like GoT has problems adding a lot of cgi i dont expect much from a new show like titans.

  They really need to make up their minds whether that is just a disguise she used to get into that eastern european mob (posing as an escort or something) or if that is her straight up costume.
  Neither of those is really a good option.

    Agreed! I was fine with it during episode one cause she was out in a nightclub or whatever, infiltrated in the mob and what not... but after that, why would she stay dressed like that? It's neither comfortable for fighting or appropriate for the weather she's in.

What a great way to introduce the Doom Patrol. Loved all the scenes with Rachel learning about them, she’s a bigger freak than all of them that’s why shes not afraid.

And Gar is going to be the heart of this show, he lightens everything but not in a quippy smart ass way. Great casting all around.

And apparently next week Dick is gonna hookup with Starfire, better to be on her good side and she’s delish so good for him.

What's the deal with raven's healing powers? I don't remember her being able to bring the dead back to life just like that. Even in the comics... Is that a new thing?

At this point I think they are just making it up as they go along, "Satan Magic" seems to be the answer you are looking for.
