on 'Justice League': Zack Snyder reveals scrapped Batman/parademon scene was "deemed too scary"

Concept artist Victor Martinez shared Justice League artwork that may have been too dark, even for the Snyder Cut.

The concept art above shows Batman in what appears to be a nest of parademons that are being re-purposed from humans. When a fan on Vero asked Justice League director Zack Snyder about this scene, Snyder confirmed that's what is going on and that it was deemed "too scary".

Based on Snyder's comment, I'm assuming that this scene was killed by Warner Bros. before Snyder even had a chance to shoot it.

Even though the Snyder Cut of Justice League is probably a lot different than the movie we saw in theaters, it's important to remember that Snyder had much less creative control on the movie after the backlash to Batman v Superman. Even the Snyder Cut of Justice League isn't the movie that he had planned to make prior to Batman v Superman's release.

    Would have been great! Too bad WB is trying to be like marvel :/ how long will they continue to screw up before they realize DC is supposed to be darker.... ESPECIALLY when it comes to Batman.

          Peter has lost his uncle yes, but I think there is a difference between a "dark" comics and being the most "unlucky" superhero ever who was raised by poor but good adoptive parents like Spider-Man.

The thing is, if you adapt those kind of things you defend in a serious way, another Green Lantern 2011 won't make things better, except if they go full Thor3.     As good as it is seeing concept art of any superhero movie,I think it s kind of sad that these concept art in particular is related to the movie version that we never got the chance to see.For me it s exhausting to see a post about something that may or may have not been a part of Snyder cut,even knowing I like his vision for making movies and particularly superhero Movies.

            I know plenty of people with severe dyslexia... Even if Snyder is severely dyslexic (and I doubt that), I can assure you such a mistake was most likely not caused by this illness in the first place. He has no excuse... the guy is just... ughh... not smart, to put it mildly.

            You can. People always tend to be pathologically forgiving when it comes to these types of people. Such behavior is not helpful for anyone. You can be understanding of someone's illness, while at the same time push them to improve. Besides, dyslexia has more to do with changing letters or numbers, or repeating certain words or sentences... and far, far less with not knowing the difference between "too", "two" and "to". I am almost certain that his illness had nothing to do with it. It's just him being stupid is what it is.

    It kinda has a Killer Clowns from Outer Space/Aliens look to it.

    I’m less interested in the photo then where Snyder pulled these ideas from. Some of them aren’t straight out of left field, but from a completely different ballpark.

      Perhaps WB learned from the backlash of Batman Returns that to market the fuck out of this movie with toy tie-ins, you can’t go too “dark”.

    Yes, is always important to remember this, the shift in tone was already going on, but we still could have got a good movie even with suit people involved in the story, the first two trailers before reshoots looked good, Jenkins and Ayer were also directors for hire at that point, fuck wb they did everything wrong from the very start

    First of all...they need to quit calling it the 'Snyder cut'. It's the Snyder VERSION...a totally different piece of art (Yeah...I said it) than the CRAP we got.

    If the punk bitch execs at Warner Bros would have had BALLS and not listened to whiny fans who bitched & moaned about the 'darkness' of 'Batman v Superman, we would have gotten a much better 'Justice League' movie similar to the look, tone and length of BvS.

    Now these SAME idiots who thought BvS was too dark wanna see Snyder's version of 'Justice League'. REALLY?

    I absolutely love the theatrical cut of Justice League 😁! That being said, I’ll always take more, and I would’ve loved to have seen this scene 😃! It looks truly terrifying just from this concept art, and I’d be all about that 😱! I’m not sure the cutting of this scene has to do with Snyder losing creative control, though. Chris Terrio said before Batman v Superman even hit theaters that Justice League would be lighter. Perhaps they just realized this scene wouldn’t fit with the tone they were going for from the very start.
