After launching Supergirl in 2015 (which then moved to The CW), CBS is getting back into the DC Comics TV business.

Variety is reporting that a Secret Six TV series has received a pilot commitment at CBS. The show follows six morally ambiguous strangers, each with their own unique specialties and secret pasts. They are brought together by an enigmatic figure who blackmails them into working as a team to expose the corruption of the corporate and political elite.

Popular villains like Bane, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor, the Mad Hatter, and the Penguin have all been members of the Secret Six in the comics over the years, though it's currently unknown which characters will be included in the CBS TV show.

Despite launching their own streaming service last month, DC has several shows on traditional TV networks like Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Gotham, and Krypton, among others.

    Not CBS. Network TV is dead. They will turn everything into a episodic procedural for the old folks to watch.

      CBS is ABSOLUTELY NOT the venue for this. I 100% agree. I'd prefer seeing this in film or just translating this idea into upcoming scripts for continued Suicide Squad films.

        I think that the movie was well casted (some better than the oters) The problem was everything else

          Will SMith is cool and all but in hindsight I honestly would kind of prefer a less iconic actor in that role because it doesn't really feel like you are watching Deadshot. Rather you are just watching Will Smith

            Watching will play Deadshot is quite satisfying to me and it would be a waste to trade him in for someone else.

            Yeah he's cooler,but they can be as equally cool if the writing is done well. After watching Joe Manganiello with the weird grey hair and beard that looked sprayed on,...I dunno. Josh Brolin would've made the perfect Deathstroke.

            I didn't think it look weird. I thought he just looked like he does in the comics And it was just one short little scene. They can always make it look better or even retcon if they really want and just have it be his natural hair color. His hair really weirds you out that much? I mean if that were true, everything else about him was awesome. The costume, his voice.... They really need to use this character.

          Deathstroke as a team member could be cool I think and make for some interesting team dynamics and story beats. I feel he is the kind of guy that wouldn't necessarily be forced into it like the others but rather someone Waller goes to specifically and tries to convince to join for a particular reason...

          No as team member. That chemistry between him and Harley or him and Deadshot is pure gold.

          Also why does everyone always want Deathstroke as a straight up villain ? He has always been at his best as a lethal anti hero.

    I'd be fine with no masks in it at all. The original E. Nelson Bridwell Secret Six were a bunch of no-names and the hook was that the mysterious Mockingbird who issued their orders was actually one of them. I never read the originals, but I did read the relaunch in Action Comics Weekly, and I'd be fine with that format.

    (And yes, I'd be fine with a CBS episodic / minimal long arc show. I'll be watching off my DVR regardless, not binging.)

    I love the Secret Six..plus Catman, but CBS, the "family" network? Doesn't seem like a good fit for this edgy crew and story-lines. Pfft...DC, you are drunk.

    CBS YES... thank frick its not on the CW, don't want it ruined in the Arrowverse... Black Lightning is really good though.

    Hell YES! Secret Six is a poorly known but very interesting team (assuming you pretend the Gail Simone run didn't happen, of course).
