New 'Gotham' trailer released; Batman and Bane confirmed for season 5

Some huge Gotham news just broke during a panel at New York Comic-Con. It was announced that Batman will be making an appearance in the fifth and final season, set to debut in early 2019 on FOX. Bane will also be making his debut, played by Shane West.

According to TVLine, West's Bane will start off as Eduardo Dorrance, who served alongside Jim Gordon in the Army. Dorrance returns to Gotham and offers to help Gordon bring law and order to the crime-ridden metropolis with a team of elite soldiers. But Gordon soon realizes that “Dorrance’s true intentions in Gotham are much darker and more evil than he could have believed.”

And spoiler alert... it was also announced that in Gotham, Bane will break Alfred's back -- not Batman's.

The final episode of Gotham will take place 10 years later, paving the way for the Dark Knight's debut.

I've watched until mid of season 3, it didn't improved. It's just a poor budget TV show with DC characters. They should do 13 episodes per season with better story & quality instead.

I understand that those TV shows have little budget, but they are twice longer than they should be, thus boring as a consequence, they don't care about the stories or quality except for the pilote episode for selling their idea, then they are just applying the same pattern than "The Young and the Restless" but with DC characters. Also low budget shouldn't be an excuse, what were they thinking with Solomon Grundy for example? If you don't have the budget then don't produce embarassing stuff like this. I'm sorry, I enjoy these CW/Fox DC shows because there are some good moments (sometimes), but they are really really far from great.

I can’t speak for Gotham (I haven’t watch any episodes), but I’ve thought for years networks should have 13 episode seasons instead of 22. That reduces the useless filler episodes. They could crank out more shows, maintain interest, & get a better handle on series costs.

Jim Gordon will end up being Batman, Bruce will become Robin, Selina will turn into Black Cat, and Bullock will become police commissioner. Can't wait to see Alfred get thrown in the pit after having his back broke, and then have to climb out so that he can return to cleaning Bruce's dirty underwears.

While it will be interesting to see Gotham's take on Bane, I am kind of disappointed that it wont be King Snake. I have always liked King Snake and have hated how he has fell through the cracks. Oh well, what can you do? :) :)

It improved dramatically but mainly in the sense it gave into its natural insanity and was all the better for it. As a television drama it's complete crap. As a wacky comic book show it's a total blast. Season 1 is god awful. Season 2 onwards became remarkably more fun.

Fuck I love that image. The sheer intensity of Bane and Batman represented in Bale's gritted teeth and Tom's raw stare, complimented by broad daylight... brings me back to when I saw the trailer in 2011. Man, to go back in time and experience Rises on midnight launch again...

I watched the first episode of AoS & got off the ride. Agent Carter, however, I was all in. I haven’t watched a tv series since that show & Burn Notice ended.
