Margot Robbie's 'Birds of Prey' gets February 2020 release date

Margot Robbie's Birds of Prey is set to start shooting in January, and today Warner Bros. has set a release date.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Birds of Prey will hit theaters on February 7, 2020. The movie will also be released in IMAX and feature Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, along with Black Canary, Huntress, Renee Montoya, and Cassandra Cain. Black Mask will be the villain.

No official casting information has been released yet, but last week we learned about 8 actresses who are auditioning for some of the lead roles.

Is there any way that i could request that the Birds of Prey ride around on motorcycles? Of course Harley on a Harley-Davidson, maybe Black Canary on a VMaxx and Huntress on a XDiavel. I think it would be badass to see a girl gang cruising around on a couple of Muscle Bikes.

      only Barbara Batgirl I kind of like was the one from Gail Simone's new 52 run. I have never liked that she uses the bat persona. I just don't see the same darkness in her that Bruce has. Just my opinion

        i like her as Spoiler but similar to Babs, not under the mantle of the bat. Plus I am just biased tbh. Margot Robbie is one of my favorite actresses and I thought she KILLED it as HQ. She typically makes smart decisions and she seems really passionate about this character and this project, so I trust her judgment personally and I am looking forward to this even if it does not have Batgirl in it

      I hate how the New 52 SJWed the hell outta Barbara with that awful hipster outfit. Its practically a cosplay costume. And the sad thing is that they're still using that outfit for her in current comics instead of the classic black and gold outfit. -_-

    Cass is a minority in a minority group (a mute Asian ninja girl?) I'd say she'sin popular demand. But forget all that , the DCEU has older Bruce Wayne, I say we bring in ALL the Batgirls! Oracle and all.

      That's not what makes Cass special though her backstory is insanely dark and twisted, I love that she's a character coming from such a dark place trying to be something she wasn't intended to be at all.
      Cass is awesome but her being mute is something that's going to be hard to showcase and show her develop as a character learning to speak and trying to fit in with her new family.

More Harley is a good thing, more Robbie as Harley is a very good thing but the recent casting news has put a bad taste in my mouth. Hey at least Cass will finally be on the big screen, they better not screw her up and they better make her the most dangerous character in the film.

    When they said Cass was going to be in the film i thought they would make Shiva the main villain what got me excited, i'm annoyed that's not the case although maybe she's working with Black Mask or something hopefully.

I hear they're looking to race bend Black Canary. DC sure did ruin Dinah both in the TV adaption and now the DCEU. I'll stick to video games, animation and comics until they know how to properly adapt their characters. -_-

      I dunno I could just be super nit picky, I wish we were getting a BoP movie staring Barbra as Oracle. This kinds seems like (at least to me) WB trying to cash in on Margot/Harley anyway the can similar to how Mystique became the Main Character of X-men with Jennifer Lawrence.

        we dont knoww that though. We only think that because they keep saying "Margot Robbies' Birds of prey". The reason for this is because itw as Margot's idea. She pitched it the studio initially a few years ago and has been a passion project of hers for a while. It didn't happen the first time. Not even the second time. She she kept pitching it to them until it got to a point where they all agreed. So lets just see what happens. I trust her judgment tbh. And I also realize I am apparently in the vast minority of people who just don't care for Barbara Gordon Batgirl. Just not a character that ever did much for me. I don't see her purpose in the bat family(unless she is Oracle) and I do not like that she carries the mantle of the bat when she herself is not the dark terrifying monster that batman is. As for WB, obviously they want to cash in on Margot/Harley. She is a wildly popular character and was the best thing about Suicide Squad. They would be foolish NOT to invest in her. I just don't see hot its that far fetched for her to be involved with this group in some capacity or another. Poison Ivy was for a time. And I am about 90 percent sure I saw catwoman with this group in some of the recent comics.

        With Barb I get what you mean she'll always have special place to me as Batgirl but I for sure agree as Oracle she's a much better character and does a lot more as a Oracle. I'm hoping we get to see Babs take on that Role mentoring the group and supporting the bat family in the movies, but I'm guessing they'd want to have her as Batgirl first if for no other reason to do a live action version of the killing joke which could be amazing

      ah...more of the whole "Christopher Reeve's superman was the greatest thing ever conceived" thing...the simplicity he speaks of is why so many people for so long have found Superman boring. Superman the Movie I am sure was great for the time but when you watch it now, ya, its REALLY simplistic. All he does in that movie is go around saving people while smiling a bunch. The movie ends with him smiling at literally nothing. I am genuinely curious if this is where that whole "he doesn't smile enough" criticism for Man of Steel came from. Now the Jesus thing is whatever. But what is wrong with exploring the whole "alien" aspect of Superman? Thats INTERESTING....jeez. Obviously you can have the whole "do the right thing" aspect as that it is a core part of his character but he makes it sound like Superman the Movie is all Superman should be. But other than that, ya WB abandoning the most iconic superhero of all time is quite disturbing

    Probably but those movies didn't do well because the movies just weren't as good as they could be, it seems weird that a Batman or Superman movie aren't considered a slam dunk success.
    I think it's more of an issue of WB rushing and trying to "fix" their projects and the creative teams trying to take on too much at once. BVS tried to be The dark Knight returns, Trinity, and the Death of Superman ontop of laying down the ground work for Justice league it was just too much and that' disregarding Batman just straight up murdering people.
    it's weird that so far my favorite in DCEU portral of Batman is in Suicide squad a movie he's barely in...Sorry for the mini Essay.

        Agree to disagree, this is just my opinion but to me Batman is the Hero who jumps in beats the living crap out of the bad guy but goes way out of his way to make sure even the most vile villains don't die and this movie didn't really showcase that like some of the batmobile sequences are kinda debatable but the batplane blowing up cars that had people in and standing right next I just don't buy them surviving that
        Unless in the DCEU they just have a superb universal health care system that work medical miracles
        You can call me a bit of a hypocrite to a degree cause I friggin loooved the warehouse scene which realistly would have likely had a bunch of those random Henchmen dead AF but that scene echoed Frank Miller's The Dark Knight returns perfectly

    Yea I think this was a missed opportunity to get Catwoman in the Mix and Ivy. Sirens would have been a really good jumping point to establish the Gotham Underworld...

    I mean, Ayer was SUPPOSED to make a GCS movie, but we know where that went. Honestly, in a perfect world, he would have made his GCS, tease the BoP and then the BOP movie would be coming out as a spinoff. Oh well.
    As for the plot of BoP with Harley, Joker and Black Mask, the way I see it happen is that we don't get a Joker (50-50 on that), Black Mask is busy running his criminal underbelly in Gotham and Harley just sticks her nose where it doesn't belong. We know Harley likes to do that from time to time and thus Black Mask has a hit on her. Maybe she runs into the BoP and enlists their help or the other way around, they need her to take down Sionis and his organization. Or Joker pissed of Black Mask, he's holding him hostage, it's Valentine's Day and he didn't show up and this pisses of Harley and she storms into Black Mask's organization yelling bloody murder and it coincides with the BoP. Possibilities that are plausible.

        I know, that was the worst part for me. I wouldn't have minded as much if it was intentional cause Damian is an asshole, but Dick dying at hands of the character I hate the most in all of DC on a stupid freakish accident? not my comic lol.
        I hate everything about Damian: his story, his personality, that he has a sword, that he's batman's son, that they pushed Tim to the side on pretty much everything to make room for Damian... fuck that character lol.
