Watch DC's Animated Series Collection figures come to life in cool behind-the-scenes video

Sideshow Collectibles is teaming up with DC for new figures of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman modeled after their likenesses from the popular animated series.

Collider shared a behind-the-scenes video (above) that shows what it takes to bring these figures to life, from the first sketches on paper to the full 3D models. The video includes commentary from sculptor Matt Black, art director David Igo, project managers Kevin Ellis and Mike Tolentino, and paint lead Kat Sapene as they work together to create figures based on the artwork of Bruce Timm.

And make sure you watch until the end of the video for a tease of what figures are coming next: The Joker and Harley Quinn, complete with her pet hyenas.

I want to see how the remastered visuals of BTAS would look like. Any news about that! It’s coming in October I think.

My god, these are amazing. Sideshow is gonna leave me poor in a couple of years lol
I like the seriousness of the faces even thogh these are from TAS.
WW's ayes are a bit too asian looking imo.
And I like they used Batman's second suit from TAS.
Love the size of these. At least 15' it seems. My guess is they'll be $199.99 each

I'm actually much more of a fan of the New Batman adventures Batsuit design and bruce wayne design. So this is a must buy for me.

People often trash on the New Batman Adventures redesigns, but some of them were definite improvements. I feel the same way. Also, hello, Scarecrow, anybody?

  Yes!!! Scarecrow was amazing in the New Batman Adventures. Honestly, aside from the Joker which is pretty bad, the other redesigns are pretty good. Batman being my favorite.

  Redesigns always have their highs and (relative) lows. I think overall TNBA did an excellent job. :)
  There is no one series or comic book that 100% nails the look or behavior of every single character to what I consider ideal. It's always going to be a hodge-podge of ups and downs and preferences, so I say let the writers craft the world they envision and just enjoy what you enjoy - it's not like we won't get other writers and artists on future or concurrent projects.
  Batman Year One is one of my favorite books, but I don't enjoy how Miller writes Catwoman at all. I forgive it in the greater context because I love so much else about YO. Similarly, I can get over a couple of TNBA redesigns that I don't favor because so many of them were also great - and the show itself remained great too. :)
