All 5 DCEU movies available in new Blu-ray box set

August 19, 2018

Earlier this summer, Warner Bros. quietly released all five DCEU movies in one Blu-ray box set. They are available for $60 on Amazon.

The DCEU box set includes Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman and Justice League. You also get the extended versions of Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad in addition to the theatrical cuts, so it really contains 7 movies in total. At just $60, you'll definitely save some money over buying the movies individually.

If for some reason you don't own the DCEU movies yet and want to catch up before Aquaman comes out this December, you can head on over to Amazon and pick up the box set.

Which DCEU movie has been your favorite so far? Let me know in the comments below.

none of those movies had anything particularly non family oriented about them. I would say one of the reasons TDK did so well was how accessible it was to the GA. Maybe some parents wouldnt take their younger children to TDK, but otherwise it had a a pretty broad appeal

According to RT and the box office returns it is. Luckily I don’t base what I like by those measurements. I found WW to be a less flawed film that was average and forgettable with very little rewatch ability factor, in fact I have only watched it once fully.

"According to RT and the box office returns it is." You are right anyway, it is easier to make a flawed movie if you dont play it safe and make it with a cookie cutter, BvS is more flawed because is very complex and layered, that does not make it a bad movie precisely.

That's your opinion not mine, try to understand that the genre of art is subjective not objective. The moment you understand that principle you will be taken seriously and not sound like an ignorant juvenile.

Art is only subjective to an extent . According to your logic you can claim no movie is truly bad or good .

First of all it's not "my logic", that principle has been taught in all levels of education way before I was born and it will continue to far after I'm gone. Personal taste is different for everyone, the person who likes bananas more than the person who likes kiwi's isn't better when taste is the deciding factor nor is the fruit when preference is the determining factor. Now you want to debate the nutritional value of a fruit then that changes everything since now it becomes an objective discussion.

Notice you haven't addressed the obvious problem with your statement. If all forms of art are subjective, there isn't bad or good, you claim. Only like/dislike.

You are really dense huh? There isn’t a “problem” because once again whether art is “good or bad” is predicated on individual taste. There are people who spend millions of dollars for a Jackson Pollack painting and love his work, you would have to pay me millions to ever hang up one of his paintings in my house. I find his artwork to be awful. So who’s right? I’ll answer this for you because you are having a really hard time here, NOBODY! Wise up.

Our argument isn't over if art is subjective but rather: Are all forms of art alike? And the answer to that is NO. Movies aren't like paintings.
Paintings sell on the name of the artist. If you tried to sell a Jackson Pollack painting but lied and said it was your wife who painted that, nobody would want to buy it, or at least pay big money for it. Paintings sell on the name of the artist. It's a well-known fact, and your failing to understand that is concerning.
Movies, on the other hand, are easier to pass critique on. If the editing doesn't work, it doesn't work. If an actor is wooden and talentless (Cavil), then there isn't much to debate about. If a director is a pretentious navel-gazing wannabe, then you get BvS.
Bottom line: stop arguing that movies cannot be bad, but only bad in the eyes of the beholder. It implies a severe lack of understanding of art in general. Movies CAN be bad. Suicide Squad, Man of Steel, Justice League, and Batman v Superman are excellent examples of that.

If the words of fools mattered and altered reality you would have a chance but unfortunately for you it does not. Next time save yourself the embarrassment of being proved wrong by just adding IMO at the end of your opinions and leave objective and subjective truths to those who understand the actual definition <3.

Guess what music is art as well and there is country music, classical music, rock and roll, R&B... all forms of art and peoples choices to like them are predicated on their subjective taste but not an objective ranking of what’s “good or bad” LOL you’re persistence in getting smoked is hilarious.

Your first and mistake was to improperly diagnose a medical condition that you are not qualified to give and are factually wrong. Your second mistake was assuming that there is such a thing in right or wrong when it comes to a subjective taste in a subjective medium and that I "adore" a film that I don't. But your worst mistake was engaging and demonstrating your lack of intelligence. You should try not showing your low IQ if you don't have to, especially when all you have is false opinions.

Then please tell me, what do you think about the president of the Republic of Congo?
Oh yeah, you don't know or care because he's not your president.
I'm sorry, but Trump is not as important to me as he is to you. That's just the way it works.
"you are using indicators to prove a point"
What indicators point that Trump is the best person to be president exactly? And you said "every indicator that matters", which means you're leaving out other indicators? Why?
An indicator can be many things. It can be an event, an opinion, a trend, a fact, etc. The indicators you're referring to probably have absolutely nothing to do with perceived quality indicators in movies.
How do you even measure who's the "best person"? lol, just a terrible example.
Indicators for a movie's reception are mostly measurable. Ratings, box office performance, etc. all measurable.
Ultimately, a movie's quality is subjective, so you're free to like MoS over WW. I'm just letting you know you're the minority.
        Cheers.

You mean Sassou Nguesso? Well, he was a military man who served multiple terms and was a boarder line socialist who has repeatedly been in oil scandals personally or through his family so there. First fail! Indicators like polls and electoral votes are what matters in the United States but since you are an ignoramus you couldn't put that together. Judging a persons character, track record with the public and immoral activities are easy ways to measure who the best person to be the most influential leader of the free world. Third fail! Luckily you stopped writing or your fails could have continued for hours LOL.

"polls and electoral votes are what matters in the United States"
You think a poll can define who the "best person" is? lol. I'm sorry but your analogy is laughably bad. You don't even know how to read indicators.
        "be the most influential leader"
You said "best person". That's totally different from being influential.
Polls saying someone is the "best person" (entirely subjective) has absolutely nothing to do with a movie's reception, which has measurable indicators such as ratings and box office.

It's great to see you take polls and pretend like I never wrote electoral votes as well and that that is not an actual indicator. And the fact that you actually think a movie reception is not subjective is hilarious. Electoral votes actually are the key indicator to who wins the presidency and who the people think is the best person for the job. Change your name to reverse brain, cause you are lost! LMAO

Boy you're too confused. I'll have to school you a bit.
First of all, what did those indicators actually said about Trump according to you? You said he was supposed to be the "best person" to be president. What does that even mean? Best at what exactly?
Second, you're confusing a movie's perceived quality (reception) with it's actual quality. A movie's reception is not subjective, it's pefectly measurable. Audience ratings can measure how much people liked a movie. That's NOT subjective.
What is really subjective is the actual quality of the movie. That's entirely up to every person.
If you knew how to read, you would know that I'm not claiming WW is a better movie than MOS because it was better received. What I said is simply that WW was generally perceived as a better movie according to most indicators. Here you missed this in my post above:
"Ultimately, a movie's quality is subjective, so you're free to like MoS over WW. I'm just letting you know you're the minority."
So when you say Donald Trump was voted as the best person to be president, it just means that that's the way people perceived him, not that he was actually the "best person" to be president.
That's why your analogy is so pointless.
Got it yet? Or do I have to shcool you some more?
        Cheers.

You couldn't school a pile of rocks to be still. If you want to use semantics because you can't wrap around your little brain basic figure of speech then you will always be lost. But I "perceive" this has been the case for you for for a long time. Your original statement was an opinion, I used indicators that support that opinion and I also used indicators to demonstrate they are not always right either, not a hard concept. A majority doesn't prove that something is better and it never will, history has proven that to be the case from the beginning of time, especially when it comes to art.

"A majority doesn't prove that something is better and it never will"
Never said otherwise. Again, you're not reading. When I say WW is better than MoS, that's my opinion. When I say it was better received according to most indicators, it's not my opinion, it's a fact. And you tried to dispute that fact by bringing up a completely unrelated topic where indicators seemed non reliable to you, but the only thing you proved is that you don't know how indicators work.
I clearly schooled you. You don't need to thank me.
        Cheers.

You schooled nothing. I'm the one who said "According to RT and the box office returns it is." not you. I'm the one who used indicators to validate your opinion, not you. So telling me it's a fact is like telling me I'm Kryptonian Knight, no shit! So I didn't dispute any indicator I just used other indicators to prove that indicators aren't the best way to evaluate because they can be wrong just like opinions can be wrong. Lol, schooled more like fool mate!

"I'm the one who used indicators to validate your opinion"
Nothing can validate an opinion on a movie's quality as it's entirely subjective.
"they can be wrong just like opinions can be wrong"
Indicators can't be wrong because they aren't conclusive by themselves. What can be wrong is the premise you're trying to prove.
-RT is a very good indicator for critical reception.
-Audience ratings are good indicators for audience reception.
-Box office is a very good indicator for audience interest.
Now, if you try to use them to prove a movie's actual quality, then yes, they aren't useful because quality is subjective. So it's not the indicator what's wrong, but the premise that a movie is good/bad.
WW being a better received and more successful movie than MoS based on several indicators is accurate. But you assumed I was talking about actual quality, that's why your brought the silly Donald Trump example.
        Cheers.

"Nothing can validate an opinion on a movie's quality as it's entirely subjective." Wrong. There this thing called award shows like the Oscars... that validate a lot for the actors, writers, directors, studios and so on so that's a massive fail.
"Indicators can't be wrong because they aren't conclusive by themselves." And they can also be right as they are in many cases.
"WW being a better received and more successful movie than MoS based on several indicators is accurate. But you assumed I was talking about actual quality, that's why your brought the silly Donald Trump example." Wrong again, I didn't assume that at all, I used indicators that supported your statement is all and used my personal opinion on why those indicators had no influence on me. I brought up Trump as an example that indicators can be wrong even when they are "conclusive." Ergo, indicators can be used to support or reject any premise whether it is in the majority or minority.
        Peace out mate <3

"Wrong. There this thing called award shows"
Awards are also based on opinions. Winners are often voted or selected. You didn't know that? lol. *Facepalm*
"And they can also be right as they are in many cases."
No. What can be right or wrong is the premise. Indicators are basicly data. Here's an example for you:
Your cat throws up. You can see that as an indicator for something. You assume your cat is sick. But then you see him playing around the house normally and you conclude that he wasn't sick after all.
The indicator (cat throwing up) wasn't wrong. It could still mean he had a hairball or an upset stomach or something else. What was actually wrong was your assumption that he was sick.
Same applies to your silly Trump example. Indicators weren't wrong. People voted for him, so that can be seen as an indicator for something. But it doesn't indicate he was actually the best person, it indicates people BELIEVED he was. Whether they were right or wrong is irrelevant since the (correct) premise wasn't about the actual truth, but rather about what people believed.
"indicators can be used to support or reject any premise"
Therefore they aren't wrong. What can be wrong is the premise.
Bottom line: All indicators for reception have WW as a better received movie than MoS.
        Cheers.

"Bottom line: All indicators for reception have WW as a better received movie than MoS." Not only was I the first one to mention this, I have repeated it multiple times so outside of you being dense I have no idea why you keep repeating what I already wrote.
I won't even touch your cat analogy because it's so retarded, I almost threw up a hair ball.
"Awards are also based on opinions. Winners are often voted or selected." That's irrelevant. You stated that "Nothing can validate an opinion..." and you are wrong again because awards like the Oscars Golden Globes, BFTA... do exactly that, they validate, no different then when Olympians performs a floor routine or boxers fight a close match it is the opinions of the judges that validate the outcome and award.
"No. What can be right or wrong is the premise. Indicators are basicly data. Here's an example for you:" This is so stupid that it cements how desperate you are right now. Any indicator that points to a conclusion is either right or wrong, they don't point to a premise randomly they indicate on data collected. It's the formula that matters not the premise this is how calculus works but I doubt you have the slightest idea on how Infinitesimal calculus works.
"it indicates people BELIEVED he was." Wrong again, in most political campaigns ideologues vote with blind partisanship first and not for the best candidate but since you're not an American you wouldn't know shit about that huh? You must love getting your ass kicked lol.
        Cheers mate!

"was I the first one to mention this"
And then you disregarded them by saying they can be wrong, which is false.
"I won't even touch your cat analogy because it's so retarded, I almost threw up a hair ball."
Well, it's an analogy to your Trump example, so.....lol.
        "do exactly that, they validate"
Incorrect. Art is subjective. It doesn't matter how many opinions support an idea, ultimately, they're still just that, opinions.
The only thing a consensus validates is a film's reception. Not it's actual quality. That cannot be validated, because again, it's subjective.
"Any indicator that points to a conclusion is either right or wrong"
Data doesn't point to anything unless you want it to. Unless you have an hypothesis or a premise you want to prove.
RT scores are data. They can be used as indicators for a movie's reception as they measure how much people liked a movie.
You incorrectly assumed I was using them as an indicator for quality.
"Wrong again, in most political campaigns ideologues vote with blind partisanship"
That's irrelevant. I'm simply giving you an example of what could be a correct premise. It doesn't mean it is. People voting for Trump can inidicate any other thing. Way to miss the point.
        How old are you? lol

Now your just talking nonsense, don't confuse having the last word with being right. I didn't disregard anything if your IQ wasn't so low you would have gotten the point that WW > MOS can be correct depending on how you base that on but neither indicator means its right is all.
Using a cat analogy on puking and comparing it to a presidential election based on electoral votes is nothing alike ass hat lol. Why don't you use an analogy about a rhino having diarrhea next so you can add to the shit coming out of your mouth.
"You incorrectly assumed I was using them as an indicator for quality." You're such a freaking phony it's embarrassing! Nobody on this website is quicker to pasting RT scores here to validate a point of view than you, hypocrite. Seriously, name me one person that does that more than you? HOLY SMOKES YOU JUST GOT SMASHED!
You obviously don't know the definition of validation because if you did you would know it applies to OPINIONS as well regardless of medium. There's a reason awards show exist and are a goal for every studio but you're too dunce to understand. Recognition of excellence doesn't go to movies like Baywatch they go to films like Gladiator for a reason. Wise up!
Instead of worrying about my age you should worry about your IQ cause it's getting worse by the sentence but keep trying to put a square peg in a round hole LMAO.

        "I didn't disregard anything"
        Except indicators.
"Using a cat analogy on puking and comparing it to a presidential election"
Your Trump example was downright terrible in the first place and I'm pretty sure you still don't know why.
The cat example pretty much explained how an indicator and a premise works. Seems like you're just triggered because I had to explain things to you like you're a 5 year old.
If you want an easier example just ask for it.
"Nobody on this website is quicker to pasting RT"
I do it to validate reception, not quality.
        See? You're still very confused.
"Recognition of excellence doesn't go to movies like Baywatch they go to films like Gladiator for a reason. Wise up!"
Because of opinions and personal prefference towards certain type of movies. Nothing else.
Learn this: Quality in art isn't factual. There's nothing that can validate a movie's actual quality. Not opinions, not awards (which are based on opinions), not anything.
Also, you're hilarious. First you discredit indicators using Trump winning elections as an example and then you claim opinions do validate a premise. I hope you can see the irony here.
And what's wrong with saying your age?

"except indicators" False. I simply have demonstrated over and over that indicators can be right and wrong and you can't grasp that or accept that fact.
"I do it to validate reception, not quality" First, you're such a phony it's hilarious but I'll remember this and clown your ass the next time you do it. Second, now all of the sudden you can use ratings/receptions to "Validate" but not awards which are based off the same opinions?! BOOM BITCH!!! You're so busted the way you talk out of your ass in circles, talk about irony.
"Quality in art isn't factual. There's nothing that can validate a movie's actual quality. Not opinions, not awards (which are based on opinions), not anything." Only a dumb ass like yourself would actually believe that nonsense. What do you think the reception is judging if not the quality retard? You think reception and awards go to works that lack quality and all the aspects that come with it? Yeah, actually you probably do.
Learn these two things and you'll be able to open up a box of cereal without your mom's help, nah forget it, it's too complex for your hamster brain. I'm just gonna keep watching how far down the rabbit hole of stupidity you can go, it's hilarious.

"that indicators can be right and wrong"
No, what's wrong is the premise:
        RT for reception - Yes
        RT for quality - No
RT by itself isn't right or wrong. It's just data.
"I'll remember this and clown your ass the next time you do it."
Everytime I post RT scores it's to prove that a movie has better reception, that a director has a better track record or just to mock the fanboys.
Always been that way. Always will. But good luck.
"now all of the sudden you can use ratings/receptions to Validate" but not awards which are based off the same opinions?! BOOM BITCH!!!"
I use ratings to validate RECEPTION, because that's exactly what they do: measure reception. Reception is not the same as actual quality. Reception doesn't prove whether a movie is good or bad. It just shows whether people liked or disliked a movie.
Opinions do not validate a movie's quality. You need to learn the difference between reception and quality. You're still so confused, it's hilarious.
"What do you think the reception is judging if not the quality retard?"
Reception is simply the audience's response. A movie can be widely considered good and that doesn't actually make it good, as that is up to every individual. Perceived quality is not the same as actual quality.
"You think reception and awards go to works that lack quality and all the aspects that come with it?"
Well received movies are simply movies that people liked. It doesn't mean they are actually good or bad. You can think The Avengers sucked and you wouldn't be wrong just because you're against the majority. It's a matter of personal opinion.
As for awards, what awards? Academy Awards? People's Choice Awards? MTV Awards? Razzie Awards?
Movies that win those awards are simply the ones that meet their criteria. In the case of Academy Awards, dramas or overly "artistic" movies are usually the ones that win. That doesn't mean they are the best movies, because again that's subjective. I found TDK to be a lot better than Argo or Birdman, and I'm sure many people did as well. Am I wrong for thinking that way? Nope.
In the case of MTV awards, that usually goes to more popular and entertaining movies.
All in all, awards and reception do not translate into actual quality. You found MoS to be higher quality than WW even though WW had much better reception. See how quality is 100% subjective?
PS. What's up with the name calling? Are you really that triggered? Can't have an adult conversation? See why I'm asking you how old you are?
        Cheers.

"I use ratings to validate RECEPTION, because that's exactly what they do" And what, you think awards don't validate reception as well? LOL, when a movie gets a razzie you think it's for good reception? You think someone wins an Oscar or BAFTA because they received bad reception? Bloody hell you're daft!
Let me just finish this here once and for all since all you're doing is rambling to save face. "Opinions do not validate a movie's quality. "LOL triggered? you couldn't trigger an AR 15 son"
Your language says otherwise. I think you're very triggered.
"you think awards don't validate reception as well?"
I'm talking about quality. Awards do not validate quality. Neither does reception.
Reception and awards have a correlation, although one does not completely dictate the other. Sometimes movies can win awards without being the highest rated.
Like I said, awards are more dependant on the criteria of every entity.
"when a movie gets a razzie you think it's for good reception? You think someone wins an Oscar or BAFTA because they received bad reception?"
        No. Very silly questions.
"If opinions don't validate quality, what does?"
Nothing. In art, quality is 100% subjective. What works for some might not work for others.
You found MoS to be better than WW. What other proof do you need that quality is subjective?

"I think you're very triggered." Wrong again. The fact that you actually believe that quality in all art is subjective shows how little you know of art. One of the reasons Da Vinci's work is so praised is because he utilized specific techniques utilizing phi, golden ratios (better than anyone) and principles of divine proportions E.G The Mona Lisa which you probably had no idea is the reason it is praised so much. It utilized mathematical principals that is far superior to the cartoon drawings your used to hanging up next to your bed. Quality in art isn't just opinion based, especially when there are specific styles and techniques required to do them just like films. Film awards like the Oscars, Cannes and others are rewarding these films on quality of cinematography, pacing, editing... a composite of techniques that require a high skill set level that separates art in levels of quality based on form and not opinion. But keep fooling yourself all you want and show me on the doll where it hurts while your at it lol.

Actually, I know more about art than you think. I'm actually an artist myself.
You're bringing the very old "technique = quality" argument. Technique doesn't define quality. Art isn't about technique, it's about expression. Technique is just a mean to an end.
I've heard musical compositions that are technically very complex; they have complex chord structures, rhythm, melody, etc. and yet they can barely make anyone feel anything. On the other hand, I've heard songs that are technically very simple that people absolutely love.
I can guarantee you that the are plenty of songs that have won awards and world wide recognition over far more technical songs. And I'm not even talking about pop music like Britney Spears or Katy Perry. The Beatles have some very simple songs that are widely considered great.
Guitarist Carlos Santana has won 10 Grammy Awards and he's far from virtuoso, while a technical monster like Michael Angelo Batio has barely won anything.
That's how art works. Movies are pretty much the same. They can be technically flawless when it comes to editing, cinematography, special effects, etc, but if they don't connect with the audience, then they simply won't work.
All in all, quality in art is 100% subjective.
        Cheers.

Only artists who don't want to get their feeling hurt or judged feel that way so now it all makes sense, you're a sensitive artist lol. Well I'm gonna become an artist too. I'm going to shit on a plate and add a popsicle stick to it and call it shitsicle at the next art fair and see how many people think it stinks that way I would have accomplished my goal at "expressing" shit and making people "feel" it. The Mona Lisa isn't famous because how it makes people feel but because of the genius and technical level he brought to a painting without most of the world ever knowing it. That type of quality isn't subjective in the least it's a collection of objective formulas just like most of Mozart's work. Oh reverse flash now it all makes sense lol it was worth it, peace out Holmie.

So the The Beatles wrote easy songs because they didn't want to be judged? What kind of silly idea is that? lol
Dude, some of the most renowned artists in history have expressed something through art. In fact, that's what art is mostly about. Thinking artists who want to express themselves are afraid to be judged is beyond ignorant. Romance, love, hate, grief, sadness, happiness, etc. A lot of these feelings and emotions have been expressed by many artists throughout history.
Yes, sometimes artists can focus on showcasing their skills and technique, but even then they are almost always expressing something. People can also appreciate watching a highly skilled artist, but that isn't necessary to enjoy art.
Of course, you wouldn't know any of this since you're evidently not an artist and your understanding of art is non existant.
"I'm going to shit on a plate and add a popsicle stick to it"
This is worse than your Trump example, lol.
"The Mona Lisa isn't famous because how it makes people"
Paintings in general can be highly expressive and people can appreciate them because of how they make them feel.
Look at Picasso's paintings during his Blue Period. They looked very sad and somber since Picasso was depressed, and his paintings during that period were not as well received by the public, even though they were technically pretty good. Does that mean they were bad paintings? According to your logic, it does.
Regarding the Mona Lisa, like I said, sometimes art can be appreciated mostly for their technical complexity and even novelty factor. Still it doesn't mean it's not expressive. The Mona Lisa has been described as a very enigmatic painting. Many people are fascinated by it beyond it's technical qualities.
Furthermore you're talking about perception again, and perception is subjective.
"That type of quality isn't subjective in the least it's a collection of objective formulas"
Except you're not talking about overall quality in art, you're specifically talking about technique. Yes, technique can be objectively and even mathematically perfect, but art is more than just technique. I already told you why.
        Cheers.

You can save it now buddy, no need to pontificate anymore now that you came out and admitted you're an "artist" it's crystal clear. Most artists are temperamental sensitive pussies who don't like being judged and having their little hearts broken when nobody cares for their work so they hide under the perceived immunity of subjectivity because it's a nice little safe place with their blanky. At least now I know why you sound and act the way you do and it all makes sense. BTW The Beatles wrote simple songs about love because they wanted lots of pussy which they got, wise up bro and try not to be a nerd your whole life.

        2-"BOOM BITCH!!!"
3-"try to keep it pithy for once ass hat."

6-"What do you think the reception is judging if not the quality retard?"
Seems to me like you're the temperamental and sensitive one, lol. I was actually cool and collected during the whole argument, while you flipped out several times. And you still sound triggered. But yeah, we artists are the temperamental and sensitive ones, lol.
"The Beatles wrote simple songs about love because they wanted lots of pussy"
Or because they were not technically that gifted and they had Rock n Roll influences. Any famous artist gets a lot pussy. Even the hevy metal players. Your way of thinking is hilarious, lol.
I think we both know I completely schooled you. You pretty much have zero understanding of movies/art. You don't even know what technique is.
I'm taking your last post as your official surrender, as you had no counter argument and resorted to personal attacks.

"1-"HOLY SMOKES YOU JUST GOT SMASHED!"
2-"BOOM BITCH!!!" LOL, the fact that you equate those two quotes with pussies, sensitivity or even temperament goes to show how clueless you are. The idea that someone who doesn't use vulgarity is less of a sensitive pussy can only come from a fractured mind such as yours. The fact that you think I have "flipped out" at all has me in stitches unless you equate loud laughter with being triggered? Which you probably do as well.
"Or because they were not technically that gifted and they had Rock n Roll influences." LMAO Paul, John and Harrison proved over and over that they were technically gifted. And what musician didn't have some type of influences? Good grief you really are retarded.
"Any famous artist gets a lot pussy." Not Beatle type of pussy! Not even close!
You writing that you schooled me doesn't mean it's true. There's really nothing you have said that I haven't already rebutted multiple times over.
The bottom line is you think art is 100% subjective and it's really not specially in film due to all the technical elements that come with it. Editing, sound, cinematography, writing, costume design, marketing... Too many elements that require proper application of principles that aren't subjective to be so and anybody with real IQ understands this. They call it showbiz for a reason, there are business practices and principles involved to produce and deliver the final work that are not subjective. Seriously, wise up, you're nothing but an earth worm in an eagles nest. I'm gonna fly now and let you struggle as you squirm your way out. <3

"he fact that you equate those two quotes with pussies, sensitivity or even temperament goes to show how clueless you are"
You were name calling in capitals. Typical sign of being butthurt and triggered.
"John and Harrison proved over and over that they were technically gifted"
Not really. Compared to other technical musicians they were pretty average. Their strength was songwriting. Maybe they are impressive to people like you who have never played an instrument, but to anyone who knows about music they were far from gifted technique-wise.
"And what musician didn't have some type of influences? Good grief you really are retarded."
I'm explaining you why they made the type of music they made, since you said they did it for "pussy", which is hilarious. Try not to let your anger spin my words.
"Not Beatle type of pussy! Not even close!"
Yes they do. Even Metallica gave backstage passes to hot girls. They had all the pussy they wanted.
"I haven't already rebutted multiple times over."
You avoided plenty of my arguments. I refuted all of yours.
"it's really not specially in film due to all the technical elements that come with it."
Again you're confusing the technical aspects with overall quality. I have already adressed this.:
They (movies) can be technically flawless when it comes to editing, cinematography, special effects, etc, but if they don't connect with the audience, then they simply won't work.
        Cheers.

"I refuted all of yours." Right... Except the Showbiz reality of movies that separates subjective practices to objective practices to come to fruition nice try, another fail for you.
"They (movies) can be technically flawless when it comes to editing, cinematography, special effects, etc, but if they don't connect with the audience, then they simply won't work." The audience is a collection of individuals and they work for many. Good luck finding a film that exists that hasn't connected with individuals. Another fail!
"You were name calling in capitals. Typical sign of being butthurt and triggered." More like typical sign of laughing out loud, another fail!
"Not really. Compared to other technical musicians they were pretty average. Their strength was songwriting. Maybe they are impressive to people like you who have never played an instrument, but to anyone who knows about music they were far from gifted technique-wise." Yeah really, you don't accomplish what they did in 8 years without being technically gifted and beyond.
I like how you use Metallica (arguably one of the best heavy metal bands ever) who has been together for decades in an era far more promiscuous for a comparison, Shit why didn't you use Kiss and the Rolling Stones while you're at as if those groups aren't in the elite 5% of popular sex bands as well LOL.
Keep it up fanboy your humor is improving.

I refuted that already. Movies, like all art, have a technical aspect, and that technical aspect doesn't define it's overall quality or reception. Just like good technique doesn't guarantee a musical composition will be well received.
Movies are stories. If people don't like the stories and characters the technical aspects alone will hardly save it. Look at MoS. Overall the technical aspects were not considered that bad compared to other CBM's. It's the story, characters and other creative decisions what made the movie divisive.
You can have technically perfect CGI, but if you use it to show destruction porn then it doesn't matter how good it is, the audience could find it over the top. See how technique doesn't make for a well received work of art?
I also gave you the Picasso example (which you never adressed). Some of his work wasn't well received because of how somber it was, even when his technique was great (we're talking about freaking Picasso). Again, technique =/= quality, nor perceived quality.
"Good luck finding a film that exists that hasn't connected with individuals" I said the audience, not individuals. Don't spin my words.
The Beatles accomplished what they did because of their creativity, not their technique. Tell me, what techniques do you think they were musically gifted at compared to other musicians? What bass techniques was McCartney better at than most professional bass players? You do know he became a bass player in his 20's, when he was already in The Beatles, right?
But go ahead. List all the techniques he was gifted at :)
"I like how you use Metallica"
You said The Beatles wrote love songs to get pussy. I already showed you why that wasn't the case. Your silly point has been refuted.
        Cheers.

"I said the audience, not individuals. Don't spin my words." An audience is a collection of individuals so I didn't spin shit. Another fail.
"I like how you use Metallica"
You said The Beatles wrote love songs to get pussy. I already showed you why that wasn't the case." No. You shared your opinion. If you actually listen to the Beatles interviews they repeatedly mention getting women as a motivator for being in a band.
"But go ahead. List all the techniques he was gifted at :)" What made the Beatles the most popular band in the world was their sound and their sound was not just organic but constructed by using various techniques like- 1. Recording at half-speed on “In My Life”
On this song from 1965 Album Rubber Soul, all but the instrumental bridge section had been completed. John Lennon asked Producer George Martin to come up with “something baroque sounding.”¹
Martin’s Bach-inspired Piano solo was written at a tempo that Martin himself couldn’t play. The engineers brilliantly recorded the part with the tape running at half-speed, so when it was played back at normal speed, the solo was an octave higher and twice as fast. Additionally, the timbre was altered, with the attack of the notes played on the piano becoming more prominent.
There are numerous other examples of the engineers using this technique on Beatles recordings, including extensive use on “Strawberry Fields Forever.”
Using the “varispeed” mode in Pro Tools’ elastic audio can perhaps yield similar results.
        2. Reverse tape effect on the guitar solo of “I’m Only Sleeping”
On this John Lennon tune from Revolver (1966) George Harrison spent a reported five hours meticulously constructing a guitar part by having the engineers run the tape backwards as he composed a solo that would ultimately, when reversed, “fit the dreamlike mood.”²
The part was double-tracked, once with fuzz, and once without. Conveniently, you can hear the entire master reversed, revealing what the original guitar recording sounds like at Beatles Bible.
Essentially every modern DAW has a reverse audio capability, but actually taking the time to write out the performance before the effect is applied will definitely result in something unique.
        3. Randomly splicing tape loops together on “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!”
For this song, which derived virtually all of its lyrical content from a 19th century circus poster owned by John Lennon, a “carnival atmosphere” was desired for the production.
In the middle-eight, we have perhaps one of the most creative techniques used on The Beatles recordings, with engineer Geoff Emerick (as instructed by George Martin) taking tape recordings of fairground organs and calliope music, chopping the tape with scissors, throwing the pieces up into the air, and reassembling at random.⁴
The resulting effect is quite unique, and fits in perfectly with the rest of the psychedelic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
This type of effect (if desired) is not only much easier to do in a modern DAW, it is certainly cheaper than mangling sought-after analog tape.
        4. Use of Tea Towels and other drum muffling techniques on multiple recordings
As early as 1962, Ringo can be seen using John’s Harmonica to dampen his snare drum.
Throughout the years, it was quite common to use tea towels to muffle the sound of his drums. A collection of pictures and information on Ringo’s kits and evolution can be seen at Ringo’s Beatle Kits. This became a sonic staple for the band.
Using tea towels or other muffling devices can allow for more control over the volume, attack and decay of individual drums. Especially considering it was common for the engineers to apply extreme compression on Ringo’s kit with a Fairchild limiter, dampening the drums allowed for a tighter, more focused sound.
I highly suggest having Moongel dampening on hand, but don’t be afraid to use something more aggressive. Native Instruments’ Abbey Road 60’s Drums even come with tea towel articulations, making it one of my go-to virtual instruments for vintage sounding drums.
Bonus: Practicing singing on “Oh! Darling”
Performing a song until the performance sounds the way the artist wants it to — what a concept!
During the Abbey Road sessions Paul McCartney would come in early to the studio that this classic album shares a name with, arriving before the other band members, singing this retro-sounding song once per day attempting to capture the raw, strained quality that the production needed. Engineer Alan Parsons recalls:
“Paul came in several days running to do the lead vocal on Oh! Darling. He’d come in, sing it and say, ‘No, that’s not it, I’ll try it again tomorrow.’ He only tried it once per day, I suppose he wanted to capture a certain rawness which could only be done once before the voice changed. I remember him saying, ‘Five years ago I could have done this in a flash,’ referring, I suppose, to the days of Long Tall Sally and Kansas City.”⁴
There is not yet a plugin that can achieve this effect. This is just one of the countless examples of McCartney’s complete (and sometimes obsessive) dedication to capturing a musical moment exactly as he envisioned it. These guys used techniques that the average Joe has no clue about to get the sound they wanted which led to their success.
"I refuted that already." No. You haven't at all, you have completely evaded the marketing and business side of film which includes money, finances and objective principles that have to be applied so the film doesn't sit in a can like many do or go straight to video. SHOWBIZ, sorry chump but business is not subjective and every single film you paid to watch at a theater required financial and marketing strategies that have nothing to do with subjective thinking.
Drink some milk, your getting weaker.

"An audience is a collection of individuals"
So they are not the same by definition. I said many movies fail to connect with the general audience, not with every single individual. Big difference. So yes, stop spinning my words.
"they repeatedly mention getting women as a motivator for being in a band"
Post a link to them saying they wrote simple or technically easy love songs just to get women. Emphasis on the "simple or techincally simple" part.
Your copy-paste examples about The Beatles prove you have absolutely no clue of what technique is, lol. Recording at half-speed? asking for a baroque sounding? looking for certain type of sounds? Those are CREATIVE decisions in the recording process. I told you The Beatles were great because of their creativity, not because of their actual musical technique, you just proved my point, lol.
Every single famous musician has sound engineers and producers behind the recording process and they often follow what the artist wants. It's like Lars Ulrich asking his producer to lower the bass volume in the song One. That's a creative decision. Technique would be Lars actually playing the the fast double bass beats of the song.
The Beatles asking their producers for certain type of sounds has absolutely no bearing on their instrumental technique. Actually, I just realized you copy pasted everything from an article called "5 Music Production Secrets of The Beatles" (lol, busted). It's called "production" for a reason. Here, I'll give some examples since you're completely lost:
Gifted technique is Petrucci playing 16th notes at 200 BPM on the guitar.
Gifted technique is MAB's sweep picking.
Gifted techique is Marcus Miller's bass slap.
Gifted technique is Buddy Rich's strokes on the snare drum.
Yes, the The Beatles had OK instrumental technique and good vocal technique (specially Paul). But they were hardly better than the average Jazz/Blues player technique-wise. Let alone gifted.
Their technique isn't what made them great, it was their creativity and songwriting abilities. That's what they were gifted at.
        "but business is not subjective"
Why are you even talking about the business side of movies? What does that have to do with anything? I'm talking about the subjectivity in movies as a work of art. I see you're constantly digressing because you're desperate to be right about something for once, lol.
        Cheers.

Why wouldn't I copy and paste the work that is already done? You obviously don't know the definition of technique, - A way of carrying out a particular task. A skillful or efficient way of doing or achieving something. Skill or ability in a particular field. And that's why your such a mess. All things The Beatles have excelled at in music, don't confuse playing an instrument with being an artist as well joker, when you have actually accomplished something in music that's actually note worthy let us all know. The idea that technique comes from only one type of act goes to show why you are so lost. Song writing and composing are skills that require technique, sound engineering has different techniques, playing instruments and so forth. You are trying to use technique for only one aspect and disregarding the rest to sound smart but you're just sounding dumber by the syllable.
"Why are you even talking about the business side of movies?" Uhh, because it's a key component of SHOWBUSINESS and movie productions! How dumb are you? You think these films get done without marketing, production and other business elements? You actually think that stories is the only important part of a movie (which is absurd) case in point 300, nobody talks about 300 because of it's story but the incredible visuals and there are tons of film that fall in that category. Were not talking about books here, were talking about cinematography, story boarding, editing, soundtrack, special effects... These elements are creative, technical and utilize objective principles so cut the bullshit in thinking film is only subjective when it's not because it doesn't get done without the objective elements. It's far more then a canvas and paint or a piece of paper and a pen.
"I also gave you the Picasso example (which you never adressed)." Because I think his work sucks and I find his art style to lack substantive style, technique or appeal. And you're talking about opinions which have no bearing in a fully subjective art form as paintings. Films and paintings are not the same and require different elements to be. Canvas and paint is all you need for paintings, films need so much more than this and any intelligent adult knows this. Except you're not an intelligent adult, you think films are purely subjective mediums which they are not, now go play with your banjo and write another love song to your boyfriend or pet frog. Holla.

"Why wouldn't I copy and paste the work that is already done?"
Because it's not your opinion and you're using it to back up your point, which proves you don't even know what you were talking about in the first place. If you're ignorant on a subject just say "I don't know". Be humble. It's not like it isn't obvious anyway.
Same thing you did when I asked you about the prsident of The Congo. You ran to to wikipedia and then copy pasted everything and you made it pass as yours. LOL, how adorable.
"The idea that technique comes from only one type of act goes to show why you are so lost."
        When did I say that?
If you've been following the conversation you would know I have been talking about their instrumental technique all along.
The things you copy-pasted were far from technique displays (except from Paul's vocal feat). They were examples of their creativity. Here's the definition of creativity for you: The use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work.
Asking for something baroque sounding = creativity.
"Song writing and composing are skills that require technique"
And most of The Beatles songs and lyrics were not overly complicated. Some had very basic chord changes (with a few tricks here and there). Compare them to a jazz band and they're not even close. Many of their lyrics were pretty simple as well. Here:
        Love, love me do
        You know I love you
        I'll always be true
        So please, love me do
        Whoa, love me do
All over a V-I chord progression. Please tell me what's technically complicated about that very successful song. I hope you don't have to run to wikipedia again :)
"You actually think that stories is the only important part of a movie"
When did I say that? Stop digressing, stop spinning words. That's not the subject I'm talking about.
"which have no bearing in a fully subjective art form as paintings"
Oh really? You were saying the opposite just a few posts back. Allow me to refresh your memory:
"The Mona Lisa isn't famous because how it makes people feel but because of the genius and technical level he brought to a painting without most of the world ever knowing it. That type of quality isn't subjective in the least"
So wait, is quality in paintings "not subjective in the least" like you first said, or are they "fully subjective" like you're saying now?
lol dude, you just got self tooled so hard, lmao.
        Cheers.

The fact that you can't see the difference between a piece of art that was specifically created using phi and other mathematical principles vs a dude who's paintings are based on his depressed feelings is why you're a clown LOL. Understand the word context and how it's applied properly.
The idea that I can't share an opinion with other individuals that have written on the subject of different techniques the Beatles used doesn't take away from mine at all but just adds to the fact that others recognized it as well. You're not that special or valuable for me to express additional time for something that's already been done sweetheart.
For somebody that's so hung up on technical elements you sure like to think they are objective when they are not. Superman's mustache debacle was the most talked about disaster of JL. That required objective technical skills to perform the special effect and it was a mess because it was poorly executed. The work done on that wasn't subjective it was an objective piece of trash of workmanship which is an element of most films that require special effects. You can dance around all day wishing you were an artist and evade the obvious but films are not fully subjective since they utilize objective elements to complete the work, unless you're gonna tell me that having one of the worst special effects in the history of film was J. Whedon's artistic subjective choice.
Spin all you want skinny, but you'll continue to fail because films aren't fully subjective period.

        LMAO!!!
There are several painting styles and painters that have used mathematical principles in their paintings. It's not just the Mona Lisa. How do you think linear perspective works? LOL. It's not the context, it's just that you're completely ignorant on the subject. Furthermore several arts have mathematical principles: music, architecture, sculpture, etc. Since you love using wikipedia, here, school yourself:
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
See how absolutely clueless you are? You contradicted yourself monumentally thanks to your ignorance. Congrats, lol.
        "different techniques the Beatles used"
Those were not technique displays, but the use of ideas and imagination. In oher words, creativity. You're not only copy-pasting other people's opinions, but you're copy-pasting the wrong stuff.
Oh and please stop ducking my questions. What was technically complicated about Love Me Do, which was a very successful Beatles song? Answer please :)
"Superman's mustache debacle was the most talked about disaster of JL"
Superman's CGI mustache was an incomplete work that should have never existed in the first place. I wouldn't even call it art since it was hardly an expression of skill/creativity. It was a more of a resource.
Still CGI work is highly subjective as aesthetics are subjective. To me and many other people the CGI mustache looked like crap, but I've heard about people (non CBM fans of course) that didn't even realize it was there. So yes, ultimately it's a matter of perception.
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a side note, seriously dude, you're absolutely terrible at this. This is the definition of a delusional mind congratulations!
Where did I say The Mona Lisa is the only painting that uses principles of math? Talk about twisting someones words, you're such a habitual hypocrite. I used Da Vinci's work specifically because he combined art with science in his work and mathematical formulas and science are not subjective in the least clown, lol. The fact that you can't understand context is why you are so lost!
"Superman's CGI mustache was an incomplete work that should have never existed in the first place. I wouldn't even call it art since it was hardly an expression of skill/creativity." Well ass hat, it did exist and if it's not art, a skill or creative what's it doing in the film? LOL, CGI requires skill and creativity and those things are objective as well whether you want to accept that or not. And not realizing something is there or not is irrelevant, what percentage of people do you actually think look at The Mona Lisa and think of phi and mathematical principles? Please make up a number as dumb as you, LMAO.
"CGI work is highly subjective as aesthetics are subjective." Really, is a 60' Megalodon aesthetics? I mean if somebody created a 60' CGI 3 legged creature and said that's a Megalodon is that subjective? See, that's the world you live in, a made up belief that everything in film is subjective when it's not. For CGI to work it has to actually objectively represent the true character and nature of the object or thing. Keep trying to dance like these things are not objective because you are amusing the hell out of me with your fanboy nonsense.

You said the quality in the Mona Lisa wasn't subjective, citing it's use of mathematical principles. Then you went on to say paintings are "fully subjective", as in completely or entirely. So what is it? Is quality in certain paintings objective because they use math, or are paintings FULLY subjective?
Oh and I do think quality in paintings is subjective (funny you're now agreeing with me), but it's hilarious you used a painting as an example of objective quality and now you're saying it's fully subjective, lol. Self ownage at it's finest.
"what's it doing in the film?"
Trying to make Cavill's face look like a NORMAL shaved face. It's not trying to be aesthetic. In fact it was supposed to be unnoticeable.
        "CGI requires skill and creativity"
Not everything that requires skill and creativity is art. In fact, plenty of jobs require some degree of skill and even creativity.
I do think that most CGI in movies can be labeled as art, but a CGI patch for a mustache? Nah.
"And not realizing something is there or not is irrelevant"
Actually it is. Art is expression. That's the whole point of it. You're again confusing art with technique. The technical aspects of art can (and will usually) go unnoticed to the untrained eye. Like Da Vinci's use of math principles in his paintings. The Mona Lisa itself however was obviously not supposed to go unnoticed (it was a portrait for someone), unlike the Cavill's CGI patch.
"I mean if somebody created a 60' CGI 3 legged creature and said that's a Megalodon is that subjective?"
I'm talking about the subjectivity in quality, not the accuracy in portraying something.
"See, that's the world you live in, a made up belief that everything in film is subjective when it's not"
Again spinning my words. I have never claimed "EVERYTHING in film" is subjective. This is what I said in one of my posts above:
"Yes, technique can be objectively and even mathematically perfect, but art is more than just technique. I already told you why."
And in another post: "You can have technically perfect CGI, but if you use it to show destruction porn then it doesn't matter how good it is, the audience could find it over the top. See how technique doesn't make for a well received work of art?"
I don't know if you're being dishonest or you're just terrible at reading and following a conversation. Maybe both. You should be thankful I'm taking the time to school you. I won't do it for much longer.
        Cheers.

"You said the quality in the Mona Lisa wasn't subjective, citing it's use of mathematical principles. Then you went on to say paintings are "fully subjective", as in completely or entirely. So what is it? Is quality in certain paintings objective because they use math, or are paintings FULLY subjective?" How is context so difficult for your tiny brain to comprehend? Is math and science subjective? Let me help you with that no. When an artist is utilizing mathematical principals and science as a basis for their work (The Mona Lisa) then the actual work must be judged by it's proper use of formula involved to be correct. The golden ratio is a calculated number and if somebody claimed to have used that formula in their paintings and the formula did not use the correct ration then it is objectively wrong. That is a huge difference from an artist who is just using paint and a canvas to express one's feelings, there is no proper ratio to soul, love, hate, joy, sadness... Those are all subjective so when you have an artist that is creating an art work based on emotional expression, the process of evaluating that work is completely different then the work of an artist that has to use the proper mathematical formula to express their work. This is not a hard principle and with numerous articles in the art world on the subject, it's called google use it. Stop acting like this is some type of revelation.
The same with film, it's not fully subjective due to so many objective principles it applies like proper CGI work which can be awfully executed like Cavil's mustache or a 60' shark in The Meg which was correctly executed. "I have never claimed "EVERYTHING in film" is subjective." You're such a disingenuous and hypocritical tool. This whole straw man argument you have been fighting so hard to prove right is all based in the fact that you contend that film and all art is subjective and not objective and you continue to fail miserably. Every pathetic method you have tried to use like comparing the president of the USA to the president of Congo is so ridiculous that it could only be surpassed by an asinine cat and hairball analogy. I mean the fact you actually think the leader of the free world and most influential political leader is anywhere comparable to the leader of Congo shows how dumb you are. Please make a list of what The Republic of Congo and their presidents have brought to the world in comparison to The United States of America and their presidents over the last 200 plus years? Try schooling yourself first chump before attempting to "school" others.
You have failed. You haven't convinced me that all art or film is subjective because it's not and it never has been, now go write a new song on your banjo and express yourself. <3

        “Is math and science subjective?”
Nope, but you used math as a parameter for quality in art, then you said paintings are actually fully subjective.
If math defines quality (according to you), and math isn’t subjective, then paintings based on math principles can’t be subjective, therefore paintings are not fully subjective. There’s no going around it. You either think paintings are fully subjective or not. Which one is it? :)
“if somebody claimed to have used that formula in their paintings”
Da Vinci never claimed to have used the Golden Ratio in the Mona Lisa. In fact, there isn’t any documentation that indicates he consciously used it on that painting. Here:
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
So according to your logic, since Da Vinci never claimed to have used Golden Ratios in the Mona Lisa, it cannot be judged by it’s use of it, lol.
“then the actual work must be judged by it's proper use of formula involved to be correct”
False. Art isn’t math, thus it cannot be evaluated as math. Math is either right or wrong. That dichotomy doesn’t apply to art.
“The Meg which was correctly executed”
        Completely subjective aesthetically speaking.
“You're such a disingenuous and hypocritical tool.”
I never claimed everything in movies is subjective and I already proved it with my previous posts. It’s not my problem you can’t read or have short term memory.
“Please make a list of what The Republic of Congo and their presidents have brought to the world”
Too late. You lost that argument when you ran to Wikipedia and then pretended to know about him.
“You haven't convinced me that all art or film is subjective”
Oh dear, how adorable. I’m not trying to convince you, lol. I know you’re in complete denial. Do you think I argue with Kouglof hoping he would change his mind about the panned DCEU movies he loves? No, don’t get confused, I’m only toying with you, lol.
        Cheers.

"Which one is it? :)" Already explained it depends on the parameter by which the work is constructed. If it's math based then yes if not then no.
Using wikipedia as evidence is why you never graduated college. "while working on Mona Lisa for example, Leonardo is reported by Fra’ da Novellara to be concentrating intensely on geometry.
“Non mi legga chi non e matematico.”
“Let no one read me who is not a mathematician.”
        Leonardo da Vinci
        http://monalisa.org/2012/09...
"False. Art isn’t math," It isn't when it doesn't use mathematical principles but the moment it does it is no longer just art.
"Too late. You lost that argument when you ran to Wikipedia and then pretended to know about him." Once again demonstrating the hypocritical tool that you are. I've never used Wiki once in this beatdown of you, but you have done it multiple times lol. But like a complete ass you assumed and lost again and as if using another source for information would negate the idiotic comparison, holy schnike you're an idiot.
"I never claimed everything in movies is subjective and I already proved it with my previous posts." Oh yeah like you did right here? "The only thing a consensus validates is a film's reception. Not it's actual quality. That cannot be validated, because again, it's subjective."
The hypocrisy is strong with you but I know that like most sensitive little artists they need their safe space to do their work so I'll let you get back to playing with your banjo and silly putty. Just remember not all art form is subjective and enjoy the weekend fanboy.

“If it's math based then yes if not then no.”
If it depends on whether it’s based on math or not, then painting as an art is not fully subjective (as in entirely and completely) according to your logic.
Ever heard of the Not True Scotman fallacy? You should look for it. You might find it similar to your argument, lol.
“Using wikipedia as evidence is why you never graduated college.”
This is from your own link:
“No documentation exists to indicate that Leonardo consciously used the ‘Golden Ratio’ in the composition of the Louvre ‘Mona Lisa’, nor to where precisely the rectangle should be drawn.”
If he didn’t claim to use them, it cannot be used to judge his painting according to your logic. End of story.
“the moment it does it is no longer just art”
False. Art and math are closely related and have been for centuries. I already proved so.
“but you have done it multiple times”
To source information, no to prentend I know about a subject I don’t, like you did, lol.
“Oh yeah like you did right here?”
Yes, the overall quality of a work of art is subjective. That doesn’t mean all lof it’s components are. Reading and comprehension.
“Just remember not all art form is subjective”
Yes they are. There’s not a single work of art which quality cannot be debated, regardless of whether it’s technical aspects are math based or not. Even The Mona Lisa has critics, therefore it's quality as a painting is subjective.
Here’s the definition of art for you:
"Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts (artworks), expressing the author's imaginative, conceptual idea, or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power."
See? Art is intended to be appreaciated for it’s beauty and emotional power, and those are not objective or universal, but completely subjective.
See you on monday my dear student.
        Cheers.

"I already proved so." You haven't proved anything, except being a master of hypocrisy and semantics. When you can actually understand the difference between an art work vs an art piece and how the sublime is manifested then you'll understand, until then remain in your safe space and show your mom on the doll where it hurts. <3

You tell yourself whatever you need to make you feel better skippy. Keep telling yourself that you're an artist and that all art is subjective all you want, oohps I already got you to admit that film isn't fully subjective so it looks like you failed again. It was a valiant effort full of cats and hairball analogies with Congo and The Beatles but ultimately like most fanboys you're left with a lame avatar and unoriginal name and nothing more, which isn't surprising coming from an "artist" since copying other peoples work is what you guys do best. Try not bringing a knife to a gun fight next time LOL.

Great accomplishment my pupil…except I had already told you that 10 days ago, lol. Here:
        https://uploads.disquscdn.c...
You get an F for reading and comprehension and not paying attention in class. Not to mention this:
-Failed to grasp what an indicator is.
-Failed to grasp the difference between quality and reception.
-Failed to grasp the difference between quality and technique.
-Failed to grasp what art is about (expression, aesthetics, emotion).
-Failed to behave in class and name called the teacher (me).
All while hilariously contradicting yourself several times (paintings being objective, then fully subjective LOL), using terrible analogies (Trump, shit popsicle LOL), going off on tangents (business side of movies LOL), dishonestly copy-pasting stuff (president of The Congo, The Beatles’ techique LOL) , avoiding questions (technical difficulty of Love Me Do), having no counter arguments (in all subjects), getting triggered, repeatedly spinning my words, and being clueless about pretty much everything that was being discussed.
I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone this terrible on this website (and probably on any other). I mean even Kouglof is smarter and more knowledgeable than you, lol. But i gotta say it was fun. I didn't know you before this and now I don't think I could see you without having a good laugh.

What’s it like to be wrong so many times? LMAO, you failed massively and regardless of how many times you tell yourself that all art is subjective, you’ll have to live with the fact that it isn’t the case. Keep writing your novels trying to talk yourself otherwise though, I’ve owned you from the beginning. Also you didn't adress any of these points in my last post:
"Movies are stories.
Again, technique =/= quality, nor perceived quality."
Funny how you keep avoiding my arguments and digressing, while I adress and refute every single one of your points.
        Cheers.

Superman standing there and letting his father die as a plot device for one. That is not the nature of Superman and a contradiction of his very character. The real Superman would rather die, sacrifice or expose himself before ever allowing that to happen.

He was Superman the moment he entered the world's atmosphere. He learned all the principles and characteristics of being good as a child/teenager. Saving you fathers life is not a hard concept to grasp for anybody especially when the cost is having a dozen people witnessing it but in reality he could have used super speed and nobody would have noticed in all the commotion. It was just a poorly executed plot device.

Its just fact especially when Snyder pretty much completed near 100% of the movie to execs in March last year before he left to grieve his daughter and all the film was picture locked with only some CGI needed to complete shots, not to mention the monumental amount of leeked footage that has been thrown out over the last year of what was cut out, hell Donners cut was only 1/2 done and they mixed it with lesters shot footage to make a whole film as that was how it could be done. Directors cuts and extended cuts of films always get released anyway regardless.

Boy do you have memory issues, No it didn't, Margot Robbie announced the film months ago around February, they had no script, A director then got attached to the project in April and now they are going through drafts and fine tuning the script and making casting choices, get yourself sorted and in gear fella.

knightrider 80 has been right on many occasions regarding films with dceu.
I also remember that conversation between you two about Flash and BOP as I was also involved in the convo.
The fact here is that both of you are right only knightrider80 is more credible and reliable on his research, sources and information which sorry to say this to you ZaQueerdo it holds up more than your information which comes across as basic trolling.

        Uh, who are you?
And again, please direct me to this Flash conversation we supposedly had.
As for the information, no, his does not “hold up.” I pointed out there’s been a complete lack of movement on Cyborg and all he was able to provide was Joe Morton saying it’s still happening soon despite all evidence to the contrary.

I have been here a while, just never bothered much with the folk of internet chat forums.
        Sorry to offend.
To be fair kr80 has hardly been wrong when it comes to super hero movies, even correcting me a couple of times.
Kr80 is just better at getting info than most us.
I am sure you have that conversation somewhere on the emails list, unfotunatelly I dont hord mine.
I will now leave you to keep chatting but you commenting to kr80 may have fallen on deaf ears or doesnt care as I have seen kr80 on other posts on here.

        >Sorry to offend you by agreeing with knightrider80 but his information does hold up compared to you.
It doesn't. When there's a script, director or literally any casting news, then we can assume Cyborg is actually happening next year. As of right now, there's nothing to indicate that's happening. By contrast, Birds of Prey and Flash both have scripts, directors and are in the process of casting.
        >I am sure you have that conversation somewhere on the emails list, unfotunatelly I dont horde mine.
Because it doesn't exist. I only started posting here earlier this year.

well weather you believe it holds or not kr80 has been right on the money with stuff while you have yet to prove otherwise.
I know everyone is entitled to opinions but when someine has been right so many times its hard not to believe someone like kr80 who is credible over someone else who is just trolling for an argument.

No, he hasn't. He had two actors claiming it would start filming in 2019, one of which was from over a year ago and before everything was reshuffled when Justice League flopped.
        >oh the classic you are that person accusation 🤔look just because I agree with another person does not make us the same person, much like I can say you are the reverse flash.

Didnt kr80 also post something recently about a snyder cut not being released due to wb wanting to use the footage or was that before JL flopped?
Has kr bowed out? or kr has moved on, I go on due to kr correcting me on films and he being correct.
seems kinda suspect that reverse flash has stopped commenting and here you are dragging people back 🤔 then again an account cant be made using the same email address and I always use my facebook as a link.

You are not looking hard enough and just typing "cyborg" in google isnt going to cut it when it comes to research on films, Cyborg has a release date which is 2020 and they start filming in 2019, its not even the end of 2018 yet either so until I hear or see different I will never believe anything you say.........at all :-) oop

WB are holding the Snyder cut release for those reasons alone. do proper research before you spout off that way people wont think you are an idiot......then again I had to correct you about information you had wrong about Donners Cut so I wont be holding my breath anytime soon for you, but hey nobody is perfect......almost nobody :-)

BvS is my favorite Batman film and MoS is my favorite Superman film. Since I’m a Batman fan first, I’ll go with BvS for the win. Best live action depiction of Batman and Alfred yet, not to mention a sweet Batcave, ominous score, and the best fight scene in a Superhero film.

It’s definitely the most divisive. People seem to have very strong opinions on each end of the spectrum. Not many simply view it as ok or average.... As a Batman fan for over 28 years, it was a joy to see a Comic accurate version of the character on screen. And while the writing and pacing were far from perfect, the last hour was pretty epic.

BvS has more flaws than a generic movie like by example WW because it is actually trying to be a very big movie and say something, it is complex and layered and barely a commercial blockbuster, there is nothing like it in the superhero genre, the more i think about it the more i liek it and the more things i discover

I disagree with you on JL. I wasn't a fan of BvS, Ultimate Edition or not, but:
        1. BvS' tone, as dour and selfimportant as it was, was much more consistent than Justice League's.
        2. In terms of production design, costume design, cinematography, sound design, score, visual effects, and many other technical aspects, BvS crushes Justice League, which is saying quite a bit because aside from the score BvS doesn't do these things all that great either.
        3. BvS feels more like a film than a Frankenstein's mashup of one.
As for Man of Steel, while I do admit it has far more flaws than Wonder Woman and I do agree that Wonder Woman is superior to it, MoS does have a coherent (if poorly paced) story and feels more like an actual film than the other three. Albeit it's more like a generic blockbuster than Wonder Woman, but it's still a good-but-not-great movie nonetheless.

1-BvS tone is far from one of it's strong points, but all the opposite. Many found JL lighter tone to be refreshing for the DCEU.
2-None of that matters if the end result is poor. There are low budget movies that are far better than BvS.
3-JL may be a Frankenstein movie, but it's stil less messy and convoluted than BvS.
Overall JL was more entertaining, had a more straighforward story and more likeable characters. It's not good by any means, but it's a better CBM than BvS. Both critics and audiences agreed on that.

Consistency doesn't equal quality . Yes, BvS tone was consistently bad throughout ,but i walked out far more content ofJL. And MoS was a complete garbage with a stupid narrative and amateur directing.

The first act was pretty well paced, however most of what I mean has to do with the third act and even later parts of the second act cramming most of the action into it. This DESTROYED the pacing of the third act, there isn't much breathing room, and it makes the action feel longer than it really is- the ultimate sin in filmmaking.

I don't see how the action was crammed. We get moments of breathing between each set piece through out the later half of the second act and the third act. So I really don't see how l. If you mean for the moments of breathing to be longer, then that would only remove the tension and urgency of the whole situation which is the ultimate sin in filmmaking.

Solid list. MoS and BvS are interchangeable for me; I love the spirit of Superman and the very heartfelt but realistic storytelling style in MoS, but daaaaaaamn did I get pulled into the Batman vibes and the intense revenge drama theme during BvS.
It basically boils down to having to choose between my two favorite heroes - I'm just going to call it a tie. lol
Everything else is in the same order for me. :)

Batman seeking revenge doesn't even make sense to me, it isn't explored enough why he would want revenge against Clark for the Battle of Metropolis (especially when he could have helped with the Batwing instead of saving one or two peoples as Bruce Wayne), and he just seems so out of character otherwise.
It still bugs me lex and Lois were a lot less driven and were able to easily find out his secret ID when Bruce had been studying him enough to realize he had a weakness but not know his secret ID....

BvS problems go beyond mischaracterization. It's a complete dumpster fire. From directing to editing to Cavil's wooden acting to Eisenberg's cringe-worthy performance. It's inexcusable.

What did he say that was baseless or hypocritical or overblown?
There was mischaracterization, under the guise of 'deconstruction'.
Looking at critic reviews and the second week dropoff, it was a dumpster fire. It doesn't matter that you think it got dumped on unfairly, the fact it got dumped on as hard as it did made it a dumpster fire.
Cavil's acting was wooden in the film. He had like three expressions.
Eisenbergs performance being cringeworthy is very subjective, but an opinion shared by the majority.

No there wasn't. There was the misguided idea that there was Mischaracterization when in fact there wasn't.
Critic reviews don't decide whether a movie is a dumpster fire. The massive positive audience reception and massive box office success prove that it's Not a Dumpster fire. It proved that critics are not an authority on film.
Saying he was wooden and had only three expressions. Is such a bullshit claim. You would have to have watched the movie with a bag over your head.
No its not an opinion shared by the majority. It's mixed. Meaning half liked him and the other half didn't.

Yeah no. All those are just complete exaggerations not to mention dumb hyperbole. There was no Mischaracterization. The Characters were in point to their respective comics and versions. You would have a point about the editing in the theatrical but not the ultimate edition. And Henry's acting is far from wooden. It's very nuanced. People who say that Jesse's performance was cringe worthy are so easily cringed by things.

First off batman wasn't going after superman for revenge. He was going after him because he beliwved that he was an unchecked threat to mankind.
He couldn't get to the bat wing because the invasion happened so fast. And using the bat wing to save his employees only a dumb. He would have to go around the whole city and even then he wouldnt be able to save everyone.
Uhhh no, lex and Lois were just as much driven to find his Identity. The thing about batman is that he didn't see him as human. So how couldbe believe that he had a human identity.

I find it funny fanboys always put Zimmer's name on there when he was the one to actually quit and move on, even if the "Snyder Cut" happened and Whedon never took over Zimmer still wouldn't have done the film's score as he didn't want to do it.

Well, we did hear from Zimmer that he had written the themes for all the JL heroes. Junkie would have sensibly filled in the blanks from there. That's what I always figured would be the case, anyway.
I don't know that that version of the soundtrack would have even been completed by the point they dumped Junkie, though. Maybe they could bring him in to finish it for this cut?

i dont remember hearing that but if thats true then whoever brought Elfman on board is incredibly misguided. I dont dislike Elfman like some people seem and i even thought some his work in JL was alright but who on earth thought it was a good idea to get rid of Zimmer's themes? It would seem the studio, again, was very misguided as to what people did not like about these films.

Elfman job was mediocre at best, he is a good composer but he was totally rushed (as it was everything that came because of the pointless reshoots) and was very vain of him to discard all the previous music, but since they wanted to make like a "reboot" and the orders come from above i guess that it was not his idea? But his statement "my Batman theme is the only theme" was really really stupid

well his batman theme is the best as far as I am concerned and I thought it worked well the few times we heard it in the film personally. As far as the score was concerned, that didn't really bother me much. But I can see how he was being arrogant.

idk why people think that. Sounded fine to me. Not as cool as the electric cello but the the theme was still the same/ Imo if he had done her bursting in with the electric cello it would have felt a bit repetitive and predictable since we just hear that a bunch in the WW movie a few months prior and that was literally how her entrance in bvS went.

Is not about opinions, MoS/BvS ARE better movies than WW, SS and JL, this is just reality, if they play it more safe with generic, forgettable movies, of course they will not get as many "flaws" as making a deep, intimate and complex 3 hour epic

You have got to be joking.
        1. Your opinion is far too biased for it to mean anything. None of what you say are "facts." Plain and simple. I would recommend that if you ever use the term "objectively" or "facts" when talking about something inherently subjective (like entertainment), I would remove all biases. And if you cannot do that, DO NOT DO IT.
        2. BvS and Man of Steel have more inherent flaws than Wonder Woman, by a mile. This is more important than being "generic" or "playing safe." For one, the tones of both films were overly dour and selfimportant, the characters were not as developed, the writing was terrible (ESPECIALLY in BvS' case. Just listen to Jesse Eisenberg!), the structural editing in both films were not that good, I could go on. This is much more of an issue than being generic.
        3. People didn't like BvS because they didn't get it? What a load of horseshit. I'm sorry, but I've read through many top critic's reviews of BvS, and guess what, they fully understood that it is an inherently rushed and flawed movie. Probably more than you. It doesn't matter how "deep" either film is, if they are not well made, the pretentious themes and symbolism DO NOT MEAN ANYTHING.
Stop acting like you know everything about film.

tbh though I have defended BvS and even JL aggressively in the past, I have reached the realization that it really might not be a terrible idea to somehow just retcon those movies if they want to move forward with this continuity. There is so much baggage left over from the Snyder era and I imagine many future directors don't want to deal with that. Would be nice to see the next superman movie continue his story more in the way that Henry envisioned it.

idk. I never got the impression that they were just flat out ignoring it altogether. The whole thing with Man of Steel was that it was the first "major" superhero incident(alien invasion and all that) the world had seen so I think they could work with that as far WW84 goes.

We should not ask or expect logical continuity from the DCCU anymore, sadly. They are gonna discard everything from MoS/BvS that they did not liked it except when they are gonna use it as an easter egg and that is it, JL was already like a reboot and fucked everything up, WW pretty much works in its own universe, Aquaman Shazam and WW84 seem to be a part of this "new" DCCU too and i doubt they will be referencing anything from before, Shazam will but will reference the heroes and no event in particular of the previous movies

well the difference to me is that Superman was a part of a huge event and everyone around the world knew who he was. And after Man of Steel he went around actively supermaning. With Wonder Woman I could see it being just short moments of heroism but without formally coming out into the public and acknowledging who she is to the rest of the world.
Idk it seems odd that they would just ignore it completely as that creates a gigantic plot hole. Are we really just going to assume that they are ignoring it? This is the problem tbh. I would honestly like some sort of in universe communication as to how it would make sense because in the back of my mind I am always going to think"well technically this is going against continuity".

People are only making this an issue because they WANT them to be deliberately ignoring BvS. Spitting on Snyder anyway they possibly can think of doing at any given moment is what they live for. Honestly makes me a bit sick.

Yeah, because anyone who grasps how deeply affecting his parents’ deaths were to the character of Batman would understand that. I’m sorry you didn’t get it, but since Batman is my favorite superhero, and Superman was also portrayed with such reverence, I was deeply moved.

Given the shitty, character betraying incarnations you defend I find it hard to believe Batman is your favorite superhero.
That aside, I absolutely grasp how deeply his parents death affected him. It doesn't make the scene well done, and using that as a crux to try and defend the scene is rather pathetic.
I mean, crying during that scene? Ridiculous.
You also really need to drop the elitist idea that people that didn't like it simply didn't 'get' it.

You don't have to make Wondy a worldwide icon but to pretend that no one heard or seen her before, especially the world's greatest detective is completely stupid. Snyder used that line because he couldn't come up with anything else to explain her absence in MoS. She just suddenly disappeared after 84? It's also funny that she cares more about a photograph in BvS than the Black Zero Event.
It doesn't matter how you attempt to spin it, it's either out of character or makes no sense at all. Did you read Gal's response to that line? They are obviously changing it.

You still don’t get it? Perhaps you’ve just missed the dozens of times this has been addressed before. Having a few tens of people see you on the street in the age before smartphones means nothing. That would not automatically push her into the global spotlight like Supes in MoS.

I’m talking about between us in the comment section. But it was addressed after Gal’s off-the-cuff answer, speaking from the position of being an actor and not a writer or director, in the Justice League movie, which interpreted her line in BvS in such a way so as to give Patty a wonderfully workable little loophole in order to make more movies with yet without breaking the canon at all.

killer batman, Lex Luthor casting, Death of Superman and Doomsday being used, and some other stuff. These were all things that unfortunately just didnt work for most of the audience it would seem. I might not be saying this had we sene the original intended vision for Justice League. But what we got didnt make any thing from BvS pay off so It honestly makes me not care anymore.

oh i liked BvS and have tried many times to justify these creative decisions to people, but I realize most people simply did not appreciate what was done in that movie. However, as a fan, after what was done to JL I no longer care about the BvS stuff tbh. Since they aren't going through with the arc that was originally envisioned, it just feels meaningless. Which is why I was in favor of them doing a flashpoint type film to reset the timeline so they could just retcon BvS, JL, and Suicide Squad, and just have the next superman movie be a continuation of what was maybe originally planned for a sequel to Man of Steel before the shared universe stuff took priority. Such a frustrating mess.

“Killer” Batman doesn’t have any more baggage than any other cinematic Batman in history, but besides, his arc has already been brought back on the straight and narrow, so nothing to worry about now; “ignoring” it would be the natural course of action at this point.
Lex’s casting? How is that baggage but no one else’s casting is?
Death of Superman is already over, Supes has been brought back already, so nothing left to deal with there, except for explaining Clark’s return, but they could just as well forget to do that, and I would just assume it’s a minor retcon of changing that newspaper headline in BvS to Clark going “Missing,” rather than dying.
So, like I said, what baggage is left?

it was much more blatant with affleck's batman. Keaton's batman came at a time and is also old enough now that people aren't/weren't really bothered by it. But the issue is that JL was originally supposed to follow up on this aspect of batman's arc but instead it just completely cut all that stuff out and ignored it. So if they were to continue with Affleck, it just would feel right to me.Not to mention you also have the issue of how the audience perceives some of these actors in their respective roles now. They associate Ben Afflecks batman with what they saw in BvS which was jarring to many.
Eisenberg didnt work at all for most people. Just everybody I have come across thought he was terrible. It would really be for the best if they retcon him out and recast a different actor to play a more traditional Lex Luthor. Im all for taking risks and interpreting things different;y, but Jesse was doing was just really out there and as far as I can tell it did not seem to land at all for most people. I even tried to convince myself for a long time that I like hi sperformance but now whenever I watch that movie, he just pulls me out of it. I still think he was a good villain, but his performance is just very questionable for the character he was playing. But it's not just him. Look at the Affleck situation. He was only supposed to do 3 movies with the option of directing a 4th. Now their plans for batman have likely totally changed and they have a new director who probably wants his own actors and wants to do a trilogy. Affleck likely isnt up for all that so what are they supposed to do? He still has his contract. They have to figure out how to segue him out of the role and usher in a new actor and make it seem natural. It just seems like a complicated situation if you ask me.
Im not saying that would do DoS again, but the fact that it DID happen and is a part of the superman's story now could be problematic. Look at JL. There is this giant gaping plot hole in that somehow Clark Kent is once again alive. Wtf are they supposed to do now? Its just so messy. They cant just make a small retcon. He died. They had a funeral and everything. It makes no sense bro.

Batfleck killed just as “indirectly,” “accidentally,” or whatever other way they explain Baleman’s killing away as Baleman did. The only reason people think Baleman’s wasn’t as noticeable or have this selective memory about it or give it more grace is largely because they just make his talking about his no-killing rule a big deal in the dialogue (even if his actions constantly contradict it :P). We got all the closure we needed for that darker period in Batfleck’s life with that ending monologue in BvS.
The media’s overblown narrative and critical dictation can do that, but I don’t find that a justifiable grounds for not only ruining continuity by changing actors, but more importantly ripping a role away from an actor who has great potential in the role. So some people didn’t get the losing-his-sanity stage of his character arc (even though fundamentally he is still pretty classic Lex), so what? It’s a good thing that stage of his character arc is over now, and it’s time for him to transition to the more popular, cooler and calmer version of the character. Just give Jesse a few more red-capes-are-coming and JL-end-credits-type scenes, and some more like the minimum-amount-of-my-attention scene from The Social Network, and everyone will be loving him. Why recast when the “problem” is so easy to fix? You’re asking them to go through a lot more work than it would be to just do it right. Recasting is baggage. Keeping him on and doing it right is not.
As for Ben leaving, no one knows what the heck is going on with that. But either way, that is a wildly different situation from Jesse as Luthor.
They could ask what Snyder planned to do when he brought him back, figure out their own way of doing it, or, like I said, have the minor “missing” retcon that I would totally accept.

Not a great analogy. Nolan took moments from classic comics as a nod to the fans but very much made his own thing. Snyder simply took a classic arc and forced it into the third act without making it his own, except to reduce it down to almost nothing and shit on the fans by doing so.

how is it a terrible idea? Its not about just moving on. Its getting rid of the baggage. Its a cinematic universe. All of these things are supposed to be connected and since they aren't following the original plan and vision, this is going to create conflicts. You really think Ava Duvernay wants to her New Gods film to have anything to do with what we saw in JL? Don't you think Matt Reeves wants about as much creative freedom for his batman movie that Nolan and Burton had? What if there are characters he wants to use that have already been used in other films like Suicide Squad but its not how he envisioned them or perhaps it goes against the in universe timeline(depending on if his batman film is a prequel or not)? Affleck doesnt seem to want to play batman for another trilogy and possibly multiple more JL films. Clark Kent is somehow alive again. There was no genuine resolution to any of the arcs set up from Man of Steel and BvS. And on top of all that(and thats just some of the stuff), people just didn't respond well at all to some of these previous films and a lot of their creative decisions. This continuity is just a mess.

You say there is baggage but all of the arcs are resolved. They can give a reason for Clark to be alive. Retconning would only add more baggage. The new Gods film can still use the Character of steppenwolf. They can make him Better. The story could be a sequel or a prequel. They left it open ended in jl. Matt reeves took on the apes franchise from the second film which already had established characters and he still had creative freedom. The audience reception of theses movies have so far been highly positive. Any retcon would only add more baggage.

how would it add more baggage? It would open the doors to future directors so they can do what they want without being shackled by previously established things that didn't work. Ava probably wants to do her own interpretation of the fourth world mythology. And she probably doesnt want to build off of something that people didn't respond to well.
If Reeves is willing to work with some of the stuff we already have, thats fine. But I imagine he would also want to be able to interpret the mythos how he sees fit since thats what all the other directors got to do. What if he doesn't want Gotham City to be a ferry ride from Metropolis? What if he wants a different actor for Batman? A different Alfred? A different Gordon? What if he wanted to Killer Croc or the Joker but the actors and portrayals from Suicide Squad are not what he envisioned? This is the problem with wanting to have auteur driven films in a cinematic universe.
The arcs weren't resolved though. This was supposed to take place over the course of the entire franchise that was laid out in the slate we saw from 2014. But now all thats been rearranged and/or cut short. Justice League might have kept some of the very "basic" ideas of where Snyder was going with Batman and Superman in tact, but all in all it really just acted as a retcon and tried to ignore the controversial stuff that came before and pretended they didn't happen which is lame. So now it just doesn't feel right. If we had seem the film actually addressing the fact that Batman felt bad about becoming a killer and wanting to even kill Superman, it would have made sense, but it didn't...and now it just feels wrong. We know it still happened. Which is why I think they should just retcon these movies so they can start fresh again. Having the next Superman film be a follow up to Man of Steel more in the way that was perhaps originally envisioned. Henry Cavill even said he was disappointed with the way that his arc changed when the shared universe became the priority instead of another solo superman film. ALso, how would they make sense of Clark being alive again? Because I sure can't think of anything.
And no the audience reception has NOT been highly positive other than Wonder Woman. Where are you getting that from?
And honestly, the more I think about it the more I feel it might be for the best if BvS is just a standalone elseworld story. The TDKR of DC movies.

It would add more baggage abuse the directors would have to spend more time explaining things and it would make things completely inconsistent. Ava can still do her own thing. People only disliked to the lack Of character development for the villain and the cgi. Two things easily fixed with no need for retconning. There is plenty of things for other directors to do.
What if reeves didn't want Andy Serkis as Caesar? What if reeves didn't want him to be chimpanzee but a gorilla? Like any director who takes on something established, he can work with what he has, refine it and still make his own vision like he did with apes.
The arcs were resolved. Aquaman is getting his own movie for his story. Wonder woman finish her sec. Cyborg gmfunished his arc. Flash is more confident. Superman is back and happy. Batman is a better hero and wants to expand the league. Yeah their arcs are finished. It didn't retcon anythingm batman did fell bad about what he did. Which is wonder woman says that he feels guilty. It's easy to make sense if Clark being alive again. Say he was in witness protection because he discovered luthors plot with the batman and that he had to fake his own death.

I am not following you on how there would be MORE baggage. Thats literally the opposite of what it would do. They wouldnt have to do any explaining. They could just do whatever they wanted without worrying about whether or not it works with the larger universe and the previously established rules(rules which were not popular).
What if Ava doesn't want a CGI Steppenwolf? She should be allowed to do her thing as should Matt Reeves.
The arcs for Superman and Batman were resolved in an incredibly surface level manner and largely glossed over. You know damn well they wanted to just ignore everything Snyder and them did in the previous films and basically just use his death to totally reboot the superman character without it feeling genuine. And for that reason, the resolution of his arc just didn't feel genuine.
Also, if the audience really thought that highly of these films, Batman v Superman would not have caused Warner Brothers to interfere with JL so much, JL would have made more money, and Suicide Squad would not be considered terrible by most people. Seriously, go on youtube and you will find plenty of videos of people essentially mocking that movie. IM a DCEu fan but even i can admit that film was rough. The only things I really liked were Margot Robbie as HQ and a scene here or there like Deadshot at the shooting range or the bar scene before the climax

Yes they would. They would need to do alotnif explaining otherwise people would become confusedbwit the storylines. That's the baggage.
It's like saying that reeves didn't want a cgi chimpanzee. You work with what you have to make your own story. She eventually would have had to make cgi characters.
Not really, they weren't. If you add up everything, their arcs resolved at an emotional level.

its not the same though. Apes is based on a couple movies. Batman is based on over 70 years of comics featuring many different writers and interpretations. And again, he is a bigger name now with a much more established track record. Before Apes, he had only done Cloverfield and a small horror movie. WB knows the importance of batman. They wouldnt hire a smaller unproven director with the purpose of holding them on a tight leash to tackle this property. Batman has a history of creators having their own vision and putting their own creative stamp on the mythology. Reeves would be the first one to have to conform to somebody else's take on the character and world. If he is willing to do that, so be it. But imo he should be allowed the same complete creative freedom that Nolan and Burton were given.

Its not. Its really not. Idk how else to explain it to you. But its really not the same thing. And no Apes doesnt havent nearly the amount of material and room for interpretation that Batman and many other comics book characters have. And, again, he was a smaller dierector when he signed on for these films. He wasn't ina position to make so many creative demands, but now he is. I think you misunderstand. I never said he wont conform to the established universe, I am saying he should have to. He SHOULD be given the same freedom as Nolan and Burton had. He should be able to have HIs batman, HIS story, HIS world, HIS interpretation.

It's the same principle and the same. Idea. He is operating in an already established world. In a franchise that's been going on for decades. He was still able to create his world, his story, his interpretation of the apes franchise.

And yes the audience reception has been highly positive. I'm getting that from the scores and user reviews.

My top movie from this collection is Wonder Woman, then Man of Steel. Eh...I don't care about the other three. BvS was stupid and JL was even stupider (even with the bits and pieces of the Snyder Cut I saw online), and for get Suicide Squad. Perhaps the most intersting part of the three "low movies" was Richard Cetrone's portrayal as Batman in BvS warehouse scene. BvS and JL was such a waste.

I can only say check it out for yourself. It may effect the movie for you in a way it didn't for me.
BvS's UC didn't revolutionize BvS for me, but other people swear it fixes a ton of stuff, so it will be in the eye of the beholder. Just kick back and enjoy the bits that are good to you. :)

barely, but is more of the same, is little crap added over the crap, the terrible, terrible edition is still the same and it does not resemble the original cut, they put one new flashback scene, but is butchered, so is more of the same

After watching the Extended Cut of SS, I was able to tolerate it more, for sure, but what I perceived as the biggest issue was not something that could be fixed. Definitely check it out and set your expectations low, and I’m sure you’d have a fine time with it.

BvS is the total opposite of "stupid", in fact, most people think that of Snyder movies just because he does not spoon feeds the audience like they want to and forces them to use their brain :( now JL made by whedon/wb, now THAT is a literal stupid movie

In my opinion, the only movies there that are worth anything are 'Man Of Steel' and 'Wonder Woman'.
(BvS has some excellent individual scenes but as a whole movie it just sucks)

I rewatched all the DCEU movies except Suicide Squad (because it sucks) over the last few weeks, and my thoughts on all of them have changed, mostly for the worse.
Man of Steel: 6/10. Mostly well acted, score is fantastic, and the story is coherent enough; however the tone, pacing, and the film being more like a generic blockbuster by the beginning of the third act is what dragged it down.
Batman v Superman: Theatrical Cut: 4/10. Thoughts haven't changed much.
Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition: 5/10. While it fixes one legitimate gripe I had in the TC (Clark being undermotivated) as well as improving on some nitpicks and some pacing issues, I still feel that making the film 3 FUCKING HOURS LONG, and R-RATED was a fundamental mistake. If anything, the studio was completely right in cutting 30 minutes from the move, but the mostly cut the wrong 30 minutes)
Wonder Woman: 7/10. Was an 8, but the final battle and the villains are just as bad as people say. I love most of it, but the film has pretty noteworthy flaws.
Justice League: 3/10. Good God, this film is so much worse than I remember. What a mess! Only truly redeemable qualities are: 1. The characters and interactions are solid (Ray Fisher and Ezra Miller stick out, save some cringey jokes), except Batfleck (who is not good) and Steppenwolf (who is TERRIBLE). 2. Two action scenes; the Themyscira battle and Superman vs the League, and 3. Some of the character moments (most of them done by Whedon, surprisingly) feel genuine; Flash's "Save One" moment, Aquaman sitting on the Lasso of Truth, Bruce and Diana sharing a drink, etc. Otherwise, it's just a terrible Frankenstein's monster of a film.

If there was any real reason that the UC had to be R-rated, it might have been that the MPAA wouldn't allow them to show the burning of the bodies in Africa in a PG-13. Everything else that might push it over the line is completely extraneous to the film. My position remains that the UC is R-rated because WB specifically wanted it to be, to hopefully sell more Blu-rays because "OOOOOH... R-RATED!" I believe that's the same reason that the SS extended cut is "Unrated," because WB didn't submit it to the MPAA since it wouldn't have garnered an R.
I'm still thinking that "Save one" was Snyder, though. The whole point of the movie AFAICT was the team each discovering their inner heroism, and that plays into that perfectly.

The "Save one" scene may have been written by Snyder (we may never know), but as far as I can tell it's a reshoot, because of Ben Affleck's weight gain.

With Justice League, you are probably right. But part of me wants to forgive some flaws like the horrendous CGI given the circumstances behind the production of this movie. Hence why it's not a 2/10 (which is what I'd give it without the forgiveness)
As for the others, I stand by the scores. BvS TC could have been a 3/10 and the UE a 4, but part of me feels that would be too harsh, especially when compared to Justice League and Suicide Squad.
Also for anyone wondering, my rating for Suicide Squad is a 2/10. Only things preventing it from a 1/10 are Will Smith and Margot Robbie, they are trying for sure, as well as the characters of Waller, Diablo, and Flag.

Because visually it looks better, it goes male, female, male what just looks better plus by the time the home media release happened Diana was getting lots of love for BvS and hype for her own film was starting appear, marketing wise it makes more sense for her to appear at the front.

Man what a mess, somebody has to be a real fan to buy that, is a total Frankenstein:
MoS, a serious, dark, intimate, mature movie as it is BvS, which both share a tone and storyline, then SS which is not only a butchered mess but it barely feels like it belongs to the same universe as the previous two movies and is the worst definition of a studio mandated movie and a brainless shallow souless spectacle,
then WW which again feels like it happens in a total different universe being a generic, light adventure for the whole family ripping off the mcu formula with a generic direction that anybody could have made and is just all around unremarkable,
and JL that yet again feels like a reboot, being again a shallow, souless, generic Avengers rip-off with one of the worst edition, direction, dialogues, and special effects you can find in any big hollywood movie and is a butchered by the studio mess just as SS
If only warner/DC would have sticked to their plan and carry on the storyline as intended instead of letting the pressure of ignorant fanboys/general audiences who want every single superhero movie to be like the (not very good overall) stuff the mcu does, we would have gotten 5 good movies in a row, since MoS got it right in the first try and JL looked great, but then they butchered SS and so on, a real shame how the DCCU went to the trash can so fast.
