'Gotham' and 'Deadpool' star Morena Baccarin would like to play Catwoman or Poison Ivy

Gotham star Morena Baccarin spoke to Brazilian website CinePOP recently to promote her new movie, Deadpool 2. During the interview, Baccarin was asked which superhero she'd like to play in a movie.

Baccarin replied in Portuguese, but thanks to a rough translation by YouTube we can make out what she was saying. Baccarin said that it was a hard question because she identifies more with villains, and listed Poison Ivy and Catwoman by name as examples. You can check it out in the video below around the 5:23 mark.

With Margot Robbie's Birds of Prey movie expected to shoot later this year, we may need a Catwoman and/or Poison Ivy. Do you think Baccarin would be a good choice for either of those roles? Let me know in the comments below.

she is almost 40, all the new actor should be 18 to 30 so they could be in shape for the coming 10 to 15 years to carry the franchises, Eiza González is a much better choice

  We have a veteran Batman. Currently Catwoman's older age is perfect for right now. And hopefully we will keep the veteran Batman. We've seen the young 30-something Batman. This is a nice change for the films compared to everything that has made in the past, allows for fresh stories from a different perspective and continues with what DC has done so far.

    nah, catwoman persona includes being beautiful and attractive, woman after 45 lose these characteristics, i mean not every woman can be ever beautiful cate blanchett, thus catwoman should be around 30 year aged actress to carry the character 10 15 years.

      Wow. LOL. You are hilarious and ridiculous. We all get older unless we're dead and there are drop dead gorgeous women at 45 and older. Young beautiful, attractive women become beautiful and attractive older women.
      By the way, Morena Baccarin is 38 and on top of that, she's straight fire. If we end up keeping this older Batman who has been guarding Gotham for 20+ years, everyone in Gotham that we know will naturally be older including Catwoman... and Morena's age falls in line with someone in range of the Batman that is currently being portrayed. It's okay to tell a different side to the story and see our characters get older. This can allow for new stories such as the Bat Family to be seen altogether on the big screen for the very first time (Nightwing, Batgirl/Oracle, Robin, etc.).
      I get you young guys probably can't see beauty past 25 or 30, but one day, you'll see the light and be able to appreciate much more.

It depends how an actor take on the role. You can say the same to Michelle Pfifer but she killed the Cat Woman role.

I like her as an actress and yeah i could see her as Selina, not sure about Pamela as for me one of her defining traits is her red hair what for me is important looks wise. Selina though yeah i could see her play her reasonably well plus she's super hot what Selina also is as well haha.

I don’t know if it’s because Gotham is so bad or because Deadpool was so good but I didn’t even realize they were the same actress. I think it’s the former.

I was into Gotham for awhile... (binge watching timeline so technically maybe a week? Lol) but good god the show shoots itself in the foot sooo much. first, every time a character dies they are brought back... I can understand a good batman villain but come on... Barbara keen??? lol. and not to mention knowing that Gordon’s future daughter is named Barbara just makes things all the more ridiculous. and the villain team ups/double crosses... it just gets campy to outright corny... I mean Lee turning “bad” ugh so cringe inducing. but worst of all... Bruce fucking Wayne. the kids acting makes Kevin hart look like Denzel Washington. and how in the living hell no one will eventually assume Bruce Wayne is Batman is fucking beyond me. the show cant even be a guilty pleasure for me anymore. that would require some sort of actual pleasure from this terrible basrardization of the Batman mythos. Fuck off and die Gotham.

At the Warner Bros. panel at CinemaCon last month Patty Jenkins, who is returning in the director's char confirmed the films speculation setting, "This film is set in the '80s, she has to deal with the temptation of our world, and face extraordinary odds" The sequel is also confirmed to star Game of Thrones favourite Pedro Pascal in an undisclosed role.

This week Patty Jenkins appeared at the Women In Motion dinner during Cannes when she was asked by Variety when filming will begin on Wonder Woman 2, with the director commenting "There's nothing I can say," before saying while walking away, "Very soon. Shockingly soon."

Wonder Woman 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 1st 2019.

I liked Morena on both V and Gotham, but in both cases when she was playing evil she tended to camp it up a bit. Depending on the tone of the DCEU films going forward she may have to tone that down.

I've been dead set for years on Milla Jovovich as my Catwoman... but she's not bad at all. She has the perfect height, good look, acting ability - no question she could do it. Just a matter of preference at this point. I wouldn't be mad at it if she were chose. Her and Ben McKenzie are big DC kids so I wouldn't be surprised if she got the part.

But Poison Ivy, NO.
