'Lord of the Rings' director Peter Jackson and two others rumored for the DCEU

Last month a reliable source said that after the Steven Spielberg news, another big director was in talks to join the DC Extended Universe. Today, we may have the name of that big director.

TheOneRing.net says that The Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson is currently thinking about what his next project will be. His choices? A Middle-earth series for Amazon or something in the DCEU.

Jackson would certainly fit the "big director" title that was rumored for DC. But it gets better. After this news broke late last night, @DanielRPK, the reliable source who told us a big director was in talks with DC, said that two more big names could follow.

Not just one, now there are three big name directors that could join the DCEU.

Only one of them is as big as Spielberg tho. At least in my opinion.

Obviously this is all just rumor and speculation right now but if even some of it becomes true there will be good times ahead for the DC Extended Universe.

well, Del Toro is the obvious seecret "big director", and if WB gets him, Del Toro can convince AlfonsoCuaron and, hopefully (probably wont happen), Iñarritu as well... who knows.

Give Peter Jackson the New Gods movie instead. He should do New Gods, Forever People, and Darkseid War. A three-movie arc introducing the New Gods to the main DCEU.

        Superman can kick all Marvel characters by himself.
        Superman may have kicked Darkseid's ass in a standalone universe (Superman TAS), but not in a Justice League related universe.

        No, he can't. Not since the New 52 and the Johns era. Darkseid is no longer the whimp Curby used to portray him as. He stood evenly with Anti-Monitor.
        And Thanos was one-shot by Doom.

  I am kind of jealous by how good they have portrayed their Thanos in Infinity War, he wasn't just a shitty "bad guy" like we had with Steppenwolf and Ares, he had an "altruist" purpose for living beings, by randomly killing half of them and saving resources for the other half in order to avoid what to happened to planets like Krypton in Man of Steel.
  I am just wondering how DC is going to portray his biggest villain, because if they are 100% CB accurate with the Anti-Life Equation: loneliness + alienation + fear + despair + self-worth ÷ mockery ÷ condemnation ÷ misunderstanding × guilt × shame × failure × judgment n=y where y=hope and n=folly, love=lies, life=death, self=dark side
  ... then critics+common people won't understand and the movie will flop.
  Darkseid would win in a fight, without a doubt, DC characters are stronger, even Chuck Norris approves:

  But DC or Marvel, I prefer a villain who earns my heart with a meaningful purpose, a villain who is not real villain and who is not only fighting for himself, like Zod in Man of Steel for example.

    After watching infinity war, i think thanos is a better character overall. We'll never know who would win in a fight tbh, but Darkseid had some really bad interpretations of him, like being a coward and a cheat, while thanos is more honorable.

      We haven't seen anything about Darkseid in a DC film yet, I am in wait & see mode.
      Marvel has done something that I respect since their last 4 movies: making good villains.
      Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Ego, a loving father who turns out to be a psychopath living planet. 100% original
      Spider-Man: Homecoming: Vulture, a loving father who's ready to play rough for bringing money to his family (cliche) but he respects his ennemy at the end.
      Black Panther: Killmonger, a black guy who wants a revolutionnary wave for black people, because he considers that white people are stealers, have unfairly more wealth, have more oppportunity to successed in all domains etc
      Infinity War: Thanos, an genocidal altruist
      Previous Marvel villains are just a joke, Captain America for example, can you give me a more cliche villain than Red Skull? He's just a villain with german accent who wants power... lol

Peter Jackson would fall as a ring to make 'Green Lantern Corps'. Warner should convince him once and for all to take his hobbits to take care of the Space Sector 2814.
The other directors could be:
- Matthew Vaughn to lead MoS 2.
- Sam Raimi to direct JLD.

Imagine George Lucas working on something...but my choice is Michael Mann. I'm a huge fan of most of his work and seeing what he does with green lantern corps would be cool.

  I don’t really believe he knows something “very bad” that is coming for the DCEU. I think he was probably referring to Flashpoint going back to a solo Flash movie if anything. I understand some fans are going to be upset but I think it’s more about the fact it’s gone back and forth than it not being Flashpoint.
  We still don’t know for sure if it isn’t going to be Flashpoint, but if it’s not I think I have heard more people say they wanted a solo flash first.

Holy crap. Jackson joining us would be incredible. My first thoughts to what he could sign on to do is Green Lantern... or maybe even Superman, but if this pans out, I just want him to contribute to a primary frontline DC character--not some no-name tertiary character that does nothing for the growth of the DC's core universe.

Peter Jackson for Man of Steel 2, make it happen. I don't want to see him in Middle Earth again, the Hobbit trilogy was atrocious.
