Synopsis

Gordon and Bullock try to figure out who the clever thief is behind the robberies of various bank branches in Gotham. Meanwhile, Barbara is put in danger, forcing Tabitha to recruit help in the all-new “A Dark Knight: To Our Deaths and Beyond” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, April 19 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Oh my gosh...after waiting so long for the show's return....IT'S TAKING ANOTHER TWO WEEKS OFF!!!! AND WE'VE ONLY 3 EPISODES LEFT!!! Yo, watching Ra's raise from the dead was amazing! And for those who wish Barbara would just "go away"....tough luck, 'cause now she's got a major role to play it seems. Overall, this was a nice in-between episode, numbing down on some of the jam packed action since Jerome's death, but still filled with shocks and awes with a steady pace. GOTHAM doesn't need to rush anything and to make sure they get it right and end with a bang, the two week hiatus is going to blow up even more hype! ^o^

  Yeah....there was at least one time I thought this episode killed her off, but in fear of spoiling anything.....yeah no. She's still here. Sorry.

There are many versions of the story; there is no true canon, not the comics, not BtAS, not Nolan, not Snyder.

  The only one that's a big enough change for me to remark on it is the new Joker, just because of his origin story typically being connected to an early Batman case. Plus, of course, Ivy's off the walls. But many of the others (Penguin, Riddler, Scarecrow) are older than Bruce in most tellings anyway. I'm not a proponent of the "the crazy villains arose in response to Batman" escalation theory, anyway. And I don't think it's a decade too soon as I don't believe that Bruce is going to wait until his late twenties to don the cowl in the series finale; he's going to be more like 18 and grow into it as he goes.

  I've heard it all before many times. As a fellow Bat purist, I totally get it. Love the show because it manages to pull off good stories and use Bat's rogues gallery real well with it being the best IMO in the DCU by far.
  But I couldn't have liked this show without accepting going into it from day one on the pilot episode that they are going to do their own thing, will not be following canon properly, and I can't have any real expectations. It's the reason why it's been enjoyable for me to stick with it and why Bat purists I often talk to can't stand it.

Enjoyed this episode and in particular, the ideas behind blending the personas of Ed and The Riddler to form his complete character in the show. It's a smart move by the writers and makes for good storytelling when Nygma begrudgingly starts to accept both personalities in uniting his identity and giving the character vulnerabilities and deeper personality traits.
I dig it.
