Henry Cavill and 'Shazam' star Zachary Levi wish Superman a happy 80th birthday

April 18, 2018

Today is Superman's 80th birthday. He made his debut in Action Comics #1 on April 18, 1938. DC celebrated with the release of Action Comics #1000, and Superman himself Henry Cavill and Shazam star Zachary Levi are celebrating as well.

"Happy birthday, old man!," Levi wrote on Instagram. "You don’t look a day past 75. Now stop running into my fist!". He posted the photo below and tagged the DCEU's Superman, Henry Cavill, in it as well.

This is just another example of the constant back and forth between Levi and Cavill. Superman is rumored to have a cameo in Shazam and at this point I think they're practically confirming it for us!

Update: Cavill just posted a Superman post of his own.

that Henry Cavil's photo is reminding me of old man logan
are we gonna see old man superman next cause by the looks of it, WB ain't giving him any solo movie. a good present for superman from WB would be giving him another chance on the big screen.
BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUPERMAN

Huge fan of Superman ever since Man of Steel. Not sure if I like Superman going back with his trunks in comics. It looks stupid to me.
I know people have a soft heart for trunks but come on its 2018!

That Old Man Supes totally looks like Bill Murray if you combined him with George Lucas.

The granddaddy of superheros and my personal favorite.
Nice post from Cavill too. He really appreciates and understands the character. I really hope to see him in at least one more solo movie. I believe his Superman still has tons of potential.

I totally agree, they could do some really great things with this Superman and Cavill is fantastic in the role. He deserves a few blockbusters in it.

All we need now is the announcement of a Superman film starring Henry Cavill and directed by Steven Spielberg.

Its crazy how much people want it and we have heard zero from WB.. I get that they probably wanna keep it for Comic Con. I still think they could confirm its in development though and save the title and plot details for Comic Con. Personally I'm hoping for either mos2 and 3 filmed back to back or mos2 and worlds finest filmed together. Basically i want as much epic Superman movies as WB can squeeze out of Cavill, he really is fantastic in the role.
