Over 35 photos from Zack Snyder's cut of 'Justice League' released

Here's a nice surprise! Over 35 new photos from Justice League popped up on the Chinese social network Weibo today. Even better, most if not all appear to be from Zack Snyder's cut of the movie. You can tell because Henry Cavill is clean shaven and there's even photos from deleted scenes like Kiersey Clemons' scene as Iris West outside of the shop.

Check out the new Justice League photos in the gallery below. There's everything from still photos, to behind-the-scenes, to promotional studio shots with some of the actors in costume.

    Plus if the scene had played out as it was supposed to he was still very much freaking out and wasn't right yet, he eventually got himself right after help from Lois, his mother, and apparently a cameo from Kevin Costner and then he did go to help.

I was so disappointed we didn't get any of Vic's background like the trailers promised. WB and Whedon really f-ed it up.

  This was the biggest burn for me, too. Test audiences were saying Cyborg was the heart of the movie, which had me very pleased. This story was literally perfect for setting him up in a special, impactful way that we'd all remember. His popularity and endurance across these films likely hinged on playing that card properly with that prime opportunity.
  Instead, he and Aquaman are sorely underdeveloped. Arrrrghhh.
  At least Aquaman has a shot at redemption in his solo later this year... who knows about Cyborg. This should have been his big origin story.

    Yeah, I was hoping they would TRULY justify having Cyborg instead of my beloved MM in the League with some amazing writing, like BvS did with its alternate story than what I would have done. Zack and Chris tend to do that. But no.

  When people said Whedon fkd it up, they realize he didn’t have time to do anything or change much right? You know that Aquman lasso of truth scene which is my fav scene of the movie and it was a Whedon scene.

    He changed almost everything, if you made a movie and I cut 90/100 mins of it then added my own 30/45 mins you would say that that's still basically your movie? No freaking way, the amount that was cut combined with the cheese that was added ruined and completely changed the film. And I love how you point out the one good thing in the whole movie that Whedon contributed, you know what else he did? Rubber lip Superman, brunch, itchy, Flash slowly digging, Lois Lane being thirsty, a Russian family for some god awful reason, give me a break the man turned the movie into a cheesy TV show that would have been better suited for the CW.

        And since I convinced you up top that I wasn't "making things up" I guess I'll swing down here, what am I making up? It's a fact that about 20%/25% of the film is reshoots which is about 30 mins of the film, and Snyder's original cut was reportedly 3 hours long which means 90 mins of his film or 50% of what he shot was cut, you cut Snyder's 90 put in Whedons 30 and you get to the 2 hr runtime, so what am I making up? Take Gladiator cut 90 mins away from what Ridley Scott shot add in 30 mins of Whedon and you think the finished product would still basically be the film that won best picture? If course not, no film would be.

        But 30min out of 2 hours doesn't make it a joss whedon film, its still a zack snyder's film nonetheless. What we've seen so far that was cut wouldn't make such a difference on the movie either way.

        I never said that, the guy said Joss didn't make that much of a difference, my argument was that what he cut made more of a difference than what he added. I'd be willing to bet that if you simply took out all of Whedons reshoots and add back 30 mins of Snyder's to get to 2 hrs the film would already be drastically different, but if you cut out Joss's footage and added back the full 90 minutes how could it not be a completely different movie? Once again his additions were as much by subtraction as anything such as cutting out many references to MoS and BvS to distance from those films instead of paying them off. Then there's also the firing of junkie XL and hiring of Elfman that also changes the movie for me because a movies score matters, and this score felt isolated from the previous films, and how they could not use the MoS theme is a sin.

        Yeah you will have a movie where Snyder blows up a building full of children and other really dumb scenes. Your argument is dumb. You have no actually proof. Dude the best part of the movie was Joss scene about Aquaman. That’s how bad the movie was. It wasn’t his decision to have Steppenwolf become a b*tch or Supes dying and being resurrected, etc. So technically it wasn’t his movie. Plus Snyder knew it wasn’t going to be a 3 hours movie, so why make it that long. That’s why it was unwatchable, it had so much filler.

I know you have no actual proof that he was going to have a building explode with children, without even seeing it I can guarantee that WW would have saved the children, if anyone died it wouldn't have been the children I know this because no body is dumb enough to kill a building full of children in a movie on screen, plus I think WW's head would have been in a different place when her coworker asked "so what did you do this weekend Diana" if a building full of children just exploded. One of the bombs was supposed to go off in the building but you have no idea if anybody at all would have died, my bet is her scene was probably longer and a lot more bad ass but they shortened it for time. Oh and you know another movie where the good guys don't save everybody and children die? The Avengers AoU directed by your boy Joss Whedon, I mean it was the whole plot of Civil war and Zemo's entire reason for being a bad guy.

Maybe he actually improved it, but then again it was reported that he didn’t have enough time to do anything, so it was just edits of scenes it was nothing major. Snyder making it wouldn’t change Steppenwolf looks, or making him a b*tch to Supes. Joss has proved himself to be able to make great movies like Avengers, Serenity, Speed, Toys Story, etc. Lets stop blaming a succesful man and blaming him for a movie he was so late to make. Snyder had the mistakes in BvS and MOS.

        Joss Whedon added "humor" harvested from films he already made. The Flash/Wonder Woman breast plant was taken from the Avengers. To add insult to injury, the body in that gag belonged to Gal Gadot's body double. The face was added separately. Just by adding a relatively small bit like that, a director definitely changes the film. On Whedon's call, the skies were all moved from the silver/blue of Snyder's shots to the burning orange/red we got in the end. Apparently, the orange is actually a far less conducive background environment for CGI effects. Whedon changed Aquaman's speech from "We're all gonna die." to "I don't wanna die." That is a huge change in tone. Bringing in Danny Elfman to rescore the entire film is a huge tonal change. Whoever contends that the film remained a Zack Snyder film is just plain delusional.

        Thank you I've made many of these same points in other comments/arguments with these people, and I forgot to even mention the stupid Russian family until now, the parademons can rip the top off the batmobile with their bare hands but they can't get through some boards to get the scared civilians...even though they sense fear, just plain stupid!!!

But it is an absolute fact that it is a completely different film from what we would have received if Zack would have finished. For better or worse can be debated, but to pretend that not only Whedon, but the studio mandates changed the final film in tone, structure, and story is just plain ignorant.

        Not even talking specifics, necessarily. More time with all the characters, no CGI faces, less cheesiness, different score, better looking, more cohesive tone and satisfying conclusion to Snyder’s original planned trilogy - pretty sure that’s all safe to assume, and definitely significantly different, at least in adhering to Zack’s vision if nothing else

      How did he change everything, the actual scenes of Snyder movie where all there, making them smile, taking off the beard, and lighten up screen doesn’t mean he actually made those scenes, he only edited them because they told him to, for the best he can. He didn’t choose Steppenwolf and make him a Supes b*tch. He wasn’t even satisfied with the movie after he finished them. Plus he made the highlight scene of the movie lol. The only reason things were cut was because WB thought it was unwatchable. So it wasn’t his fault. What cheese, you mean to tell me a depressing movie needs to say depressing?         For one I'm no more a "Snyder fanboy" than I am a Nolan fanboy, or a Tarentino fanboy, or a Spielberg fanboy or a Kubrick fanboy and so on, I like some of his movies just as I like many other people's films. To see photos of a movie you don't like released from a director you don't like? As for your argument I honestly don't know what you don't understand, so if I take ROTK cut the movie down to 90 minutes then add 30 minutes of new lesser looking scenes you don't think that the movie would be a completely different movie than what we got? Ok yeah 90 mins of scenes would have still been shot by Peter Jackson but that doesn't mean that you can't completely change the whole feel, the entire narrative of the film and trilogy by doing that. And who's making stuff up now? He "wanted to blow up a building with little girls"? Show me were you heard that? There was supposed to be more than one bomb and one of them went off inside but you have no idea that WW didn't save everybody in a different probably better way. Now in Whedons version apparently she's the flash, the no man's land scene in WW was actually pointless because she can run faster than bullets. I'm done debating you, your just a straight up troll, if you can't see how the movie was completely changed from Snyder's vision regardless of the fact that they used some of his footage then there is no point in speaking to you.       There was a mandate of 2 hours set by WB. There's only so much a person can do with a World Renowned team in under 2 Hours with just 3 months of directing, the pressure is high. Given Zack's track record of his story-telling skills, no wonder there were reshoots done and restructuring.
      Zack, Joss and WB ruined JL. Don't blame it on one person. Open your eyes and consider all factors.

And once again if his stuff was so bad why did they think his scenes would get people in the theaters and packed them into their trailers only to edit all of those scenes out? Why would they replace lines like "my turn" for "I didn't bring a sword" which is longer and sounds less cool. If they were so concerned why did Joss add a pointless sub plot about a Russian family that nobody likes? You don't think that they could have used those minutes in a 2 hr runtime to better realize cyborg for instance? I just don't know why you haters can't help but to click and comment on Zach Snyder related stories.

        Anyways I agree some of the stuff Joss put in was terrible. I hated his jokes, I hated Batsy's fight scene in the intro (besides the back-flip) I didn't like Supe's cgi lips, (then again, you've got to blame the cgi team for that).
        I feel like the Russian family was to add some stake, I mean if they completely removed them out I'd feel absolutely no vibes of, "The World is Ending" at all. I mean, there barely was any feeling of a World Wide Invasion at all. Like seriously. But I agree the Russian family was not that great of a subplot anyways.
        Now you've got all the potential scenes done by Zack and you've got the scenes Joss felt like was necessary to which he linked them all up to get some coherent structure going.
        If there is one party to truly blame it would be WB, because of that 2 Hour mandate. There's only so much you can do and fit in such a timeframe and adding in the extra scenes of Flash, Mera, Cyborg and others would've used up too much time when the true focus is a World Wide Invasion threat. And even with the 2hrs and the cutting of scenes, they couldn't even bring that WWInavsion Threat vibes at all.

        Fair enough. I only believe that Dickey guy though since he seems legit, however I can't place trust into Collider.
        I still don't see where it says 3 Hours anywhere though in Dickey's statement. It states that a wide swath of story and dialogue was to be redone. Though it's understandable that some of the cuts accumulated to a possible hour.

        There never was an original complete cut with complete cgi, complete scenes, complete acting etc. There were ideas, drawings, cut footage and the such like the images above, but there never was stated anywhere that there was an actual COMPLETE original cut. Would love if you can source me such an info.

    Snyder finished shooting with the allocated budget at around 200 million(unwatchable assembly cut). If the remaining amount were only reserved for Snyder to complete over assembly cut than allowing to utter waste with new scoring/editing/new director, that version would have probably pulled the feat for fans.

        I read a lot, and I remember reading the article you posted at the very beginning when we just found out that reshoots were being done, since then I remember hearing updated figures. Are you saying that you didn't here that the stache CG alone cost like 20-25 million? Because logic would say if a mustache alone cost that much 50-60 million would be closer for the full amount of reshoots. If you really want me to I guess I can go find proof, but I don't see the point.

        Ok lets pretend that the reshoots were 120m, and they had to spend 100m on the mustache alone, that still leave him with only 20m for the rest. The point is that he didn't have a big budget to work with, unlike snyder who had 275m and more time to polish things up. So when people cry about the quality of the reshoots, always consider that he didnt have much time and that his budget was minuscule compared to snyder.

        No doubt that's why WB shouldn't have done it, and if they were going to do it they should have postponed the release, but the WB execs wanted to guarantee their own bonuses before the end of the year. None the less the reshoots look bad and if I was putting my name on it I wouldn't want the film going to theaters looking that way, so I guess they screwed everybody.

        Yeah it would be nice to agree but that wasn't what I was saying, I was saying they never should have done the reshoots, if Snyder wanted time to step away they should have delayed production considering his circumstances, once he started it he should have been allowed to finish his trilogy, for his sake and the fans of the previous films, after that reboot, retcon whatever, but you don't change your mind once 100% of principle photography is done. I would have been opposed to it but if they wanted to oust Snyder they should have delayed JL's production and found a new director from the get go.

        Delaying jl would've caused more mayhem than ever before, the fans that were waiting for this movie for years would've been angry, and the people who were skeptical would've dropped out, which would've brought more negativity on the dc brand,especially after the reception of bvs. I know some people liked snyders vision but the majority didnt, thats why jl flopped because people lost interest and it opened with a shameful 93m, not to mention that it was probably going to make even less money if they kept the movie at 150+ minutes due to less showings. To prevent all of this they should've fired him right after bvs and hire a new director and assuring the fans that they're shaking things up and let joss whedon or whoever else direct jl.

        The implication is that tone change was the motive behind the reshoots.
        From the differences we've seen, that theory appears to gel, and isn't a stretch of the imagination by any means when you consider all of the PR from WB about hearing all the complaints about BvS's tone.
        I know it's bigger than that for you, but I do believe it was WB's reasoning in firing Zack and bringing in Joss. I don't think WB ever fully understood the deeper complaints that serious fans were making, and were just knee-jerk reacting to superficial complaints from major reviewers and some noisy people on social media.

        You keep saying "unwatchable" over and over...So you've seen the Snyder cut? You might think BvS is "unwatchable" God knows plenty do, but it's one of my favorite films and I believe I and the other fans of the DCEU deserved the right to decide for ourselves. Also this was the 3rd part of a trilogy and should have been made for the fans of the other films instead of servicing no one, people who didn't like MoS and BvS weren't probably going to come anyway so why make a movie to try to attract those people at the cost of alienating the ones who did like the previous films, and there was a passionate loyal fan base, if movies like JL are what's coming I'm out on DC, it's the same thing the last Jedi did, they are so concerned about trying to grow new fans that they forgot to please the fans that they already had. Plus WB never said that they were bringing in Whedon to fix the movie they said that he was coming in to complete Zach Snyder's film, so if they lied I bought my ticket under false pretenses (which between that and all of the stuff from the trailers that Snyder shot that wasn't in the film I totally did) And everyone who bought a ticket should be entitled to a refund.

Dad gives him advice to not save his friends or the kids on bus, we didn’t get to see Supes hang out with his young friends and be happy, he let his dad die, Supes is confused all the time, destroyed a long list of buildings in all of the Snyder movies. And the only interviews I can recall are the ones where Affleck said Whedon took the movie and made it better and the one where Cavill said him and Joss saw eye to eye on Superman (in contrast to Snyder).

        That’s softer than the fairly cut-and-dry critical response. JL’s number may be a bit higher on RT, but BvS was seen by more people, and both were liked by most who saw it, so it’s hard to say about that exactly. However, seeing as JL is a very simple, fun, popcorn sort of flick, it would not surprise me that a culture that likes the Transformers films and Suicide Squad would have more people enjoy that too :P

    Why is WW on Snyder's roaster? The little writing he did on the film, along with two other people, didn't matter. Once Geoff and Patty were assigned to the movie, it was most of their writing that ended up on the big screen.

        I would actually argue that half of the problem people have with Snyder's Batman and Superman is that they don't want development. He's taking these characters and making them earn their way, the man of steel is trying to learn to be Superman instead of being a perfect boy scout from the beginning, and the caped crusader is an old jaded man that's tired of fighting and has lost too much, and has to find his way back to being the Batman that we are all familiar with. People didn't like that, they don't want development in these characters they want them to be perfect, they want to see these heroes through a child's eyes, like a child sees their parents, they don't want to see them as f*** ups even if they come out better for it in the end.

        Maybe they both agreed to use his tragedy as a way to keep the drama under control, like him being fired and wb having an unwatchable cut on their hands while the movie being a few months away before its release is far from being good publicity for either party, im not saying its right to do so but business comes first. I read that they wanted to fire him not long after bvs but they already started filming and probably didn't want to fire him and push the release date. It is indeed a messed up situation that couldve been avoided on both side. Im pretty sure joss was never suppose to direct a batgirl movie, it was probably a way to bring him in without bringing attention. It seems that wb should reinforce their security because everything always gets out, rumors always ends up to be true when it comes to dc.

    Geoff was only a producer, not a writer on BvS. He had very little to do in reality with BvS, that was Snyder and Goyer's vision and writing. He and Berg were assigned their new roles, (Geoff's being head of a new arm at WB,) AFTER the BvS fallout, or as I like to call it..a disaster movie. Here is the link;

    The execs wanted to stop Snyder around this time, but as every news report illustrates, JL started filming as soon as BvS hit theaters. It is hard to stop a movie once it is in production, plus a movie of this size ($$.) It came to a head when Snyder turned in his "unwatchable" (call it whatever you like) version and the studio execs HATED it. It also probably didn't fit Geoff's new vision for the DCEU which was taking shape with his work on WW.
    So, lights out, time for bed now.

There were rumors Aquaman was a drunk, which is why there are so many scenes (cut scenes apparently also) showing him drinking, with a bottle, etc. Batman suicidal, Cyborg depressed all through the movie because he is aluminum foil. Again, these were all rumors, like the fabled Snyder cut, but the WW not saving the people rumor was the only one that was backed up with the scene in the teaser of the museum floor exploding.

        I like Spider-man. It was the only Marvel comic I think I read growing up. I actually like the new actor they got for Spiderman Homecoming. I think they finally found one that fit Spidey, at least in my eyes. I could never stand Toby, or the next one, but I did like Raimi's 2002 movie. I have never been a huge fan of Wolverine, but I enjoyed some of his movies, especially the last one (can't think of it atm) with the older versions. Some interesting writing there.
        Deadpool has the type of no-f*cks to give humor with heavy doses of sarcasm which I relish.

        Not to mention, he said that in response to the idea that Batman in "Batman Begins" is dark. Bruce starts that movie in prison in some Third World country, and in the real world, yeah, any rich dude landing in there would have gotten gang-raped no matter how tough he was. Part of Snyder's deal is refocusing on all the ugly stuff that the comics and most movies tend to gloss over or ignore. So yeah, for people to say that Bruce's story in "Begins" is dark when, as he goes through all that from the prison to the fire in Nanda Parbat (or whatever they called it), NOTHING BAD HAPPENS TO HIM, is willful blindness.   Movies that become cult classics after poor initial reception are usually movies that were ahead of their time. Like The Thing for instance. Too brutal for it's time, but actually a good movie.

These are AWESOME. Of course I wish it were all in the film. More Bruce and Alfred moments, more Lois and Clark moments, more with Vic and his dad... etc, etc.
Can I just say that Connie Nielsen looks jaw-dropping in those photos of her - like, straight out of a real-life fairytale? That cape is a dream. Charmed to bits by that photo of her smiling to the horse, too.
I hope everyone had lots of good times like that making the film.
Love that pose from Ezra in the Flash costume where he's stretching. He had a couple of cool poses that made him feel really agile and dynamic. Hope to get more of that in the Flash solo. :)

Wilkinson also mentioned that this time, there is Kryptonian script hidden in Superman’s costume. “Zack [Snyder] actually loved the idea that there was some Kryptonian script embedded in the suit. He gave me this fantastic quote he wanted us to translate into Kryptonian and incorporate it into the suit. It sort of deals with the nature of power and responsibility.”
        And finally, making her long awaited big screen debut is Wonder Woman, as played by Gal Gadot.   While I agree I don't like any MCU movie less than I like JL, I do think JL had more going for it than some MCU movies. It held my interest more than Cap: TFA, certainly.
  It's just the gravity of their trainwreck completely undermines all the good things it has going for it. TFA, while boring and unmemorable, is at least a solidly made film.

    I do not see what is good about jl. Zacks vision would have given us a much deeper history with dc films and a greater expansion. I read an article how he was going to incorporate the anti-life equation. Would have lead into jl2. Instead, we got a fake comedy.

      Yeah, I mean, the potential was squandered, but I did enjoy moments. Seeing Superman fight the League was a well-made blast (until he starts talking).
      I loved Steppenwolf's introduction with the Amazons and the way he tried to use that to get under Diana's skin, but he never got developed. So unfortunate.
      It's basically like every time I remember something positive, it's always followed by "But..."
      I'm trying not to diminish the things I liked by letting the things they fumbled take over my feelings.

  I agree! To me, it came across as the "lovers-speak" between couples who are deeply and passionately in love. Those little things that sound cringeworthy to anyone listening in, but to each other it's hopelessly romantic.

        LOL. Flash's suit isn't held together with rubber bands, and looks more comic accurate than Snyder's. Love the fact Martian Manhunter is on the league instead of the crinkled up piece of aluminum foil Snyder gave us. And of course, a Green Lantern. His suit sucks but at least we have one. To think we ended up with Snyder's suck-ass version of most of these characters. Sigh.

        I agree. The only path is forward. Geoff's DCEU version has replaced the Snyder's starting with WW, so hopefully, the next set of movies will course-correct the DCEU and leave Snyder's crap in its wake.

    That was an off-the-cuff example of how far he's interested in going when making something dark and realistic. Doesn't mean he specifically wanted to do that particular thing - and, as we see, he didn't.
    I think Zack is maybe a little naive when it comes to interviews. He doesn't foresee the way people are going to react to things he says non-literally or when he's misremembering something. The TDK Returns blunder was pretty embarrassing too. People haven't let him live down that slip-up.

      No people have not let him live that one down because it rings true to his darker vision in most of his movies. It sounds "Snyder-ish." I wasn't that shocked really he would stoop that low. I mean Superman stood idly by and let his dad die.

I don't get why they're releasing these. I'll be the first to say I don't care much for a Snyder cut (in fact I think there's a chance it could be worse than what we got), but this is just torture for all the Snyder fans that do want a Snyder cut. WB is literally leading them on to nothing and getting there hopes up for no reason.
